This has been happening for months, but it used to be I could usually play for an hour at least before it would crash. It's gotten to the point I can only play for ten minutes or so before it crashes and gives me the debug error. It's at random times, and my sims can be doing anything. I've true playing full screen and windowed mode, all the graphics options are at low, and I've tried the new account fix. I have a MacBook pro, which seems to be the most common computer with this issue. It annoys me so much! I have no CC installed that isn't sold by The Official Sims Store or whatever they call it, and no exchange items or mods.

I can't believe they haven't fixed this problem yet! I've tried everything I can think of!

PLEASE HELP!

I am having the same problem. I had just uninstalled my game because i was having problems with it crashing in Create a sim and problems with my my custom content. I would gladly take those problems on again if i didn't have to deal with this bull of it not even starting. This is a long term problem that needs to be fixed asap!!!!

I just got this problem today when I tried to interact with a horse. My Macbook Pro exceeds all the requirements and my video card is supported meaning it won't have a problem but I am already getting aggravated hopefully there will be a fix soon. Any ideas anyone? The only thing I thought of besides trying the underscoring the folder in my documents, which didn't work. I removed all my mods from my game, hopefully that will work

This wasn't my first choice solution, but when this message popped up for me I tried to get rid of it other ways, but they didn't work. Mine worked when I uninstalled and reinstalled it

This happened to me just after the newest update, whenever I go into Buy Mode. I uninstalled a bunch of custom content to see if that might work but it just hasn't. Then I tried to whole playing around with the EA folder thing and that didn't do anything at all.

ahgkjdfhgdf very frustrating to say the least.

I literally JUST updated my game, and now I'm getting this message.

I have a macbook pro, only have the base game, no downloads, just run of the mill updates whenever it alerts me.

Why haven't they looked into fixing this?

Hey guys, try repairing your permissions on your hard drive. Go to Utilities > Disc Utilities and then click your hard drive, and then click "Repair permissions." I'm doing this right now, someone on my thread tried it and said it solved the "re-install your game" problem and the "exceptions raised" problem for them.
I'll let you guys know if it works for me or not.

I've been having this issue too. I've had it before, but it was usually after hours of gameplay and I could deal with it then. Now it happens it seems to be only when I edit one of my Sims in my one family in CAS (from the mirror). The second I click accept, the exception raised debug error pops up. It was crashing during buy mode too, but that seemed to be fixed with turning off the ingame store. I'm playing now with no custom content, though the Sim has custom hair at the moment. The reason why I try going into CAS to change the hair to a standard EA hair, but it won't let me without crashing.

This is frustrating. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but I don't know if it will crash at other times too, or if that's the only instance.

The same thing has been happening for me. I play for about 2 minutes after loading the family, and then this thing happens:

file:///Users/david/Desktop/Screen%20shot%202011-12-27%20at%201
2.17.23%20AM.png

And whether I decided yes or no, it just all disappears:

file:///Users/david/Desktop/Screen%20shot%202011-12-27%20at%201
2.17.45%20AM.png

However on the starnge occassion I do get, an error report type thing:

file:///Users/david/Desktop/Screen%20shot%202011-12-27%20at%201
2.35.11%20AM.png

But yea nothing really seems to happen after that. I'm sure that the report just disappears into oblivian.

This is extremely fustrating, I am a big fan of Sims 3, but I've had this problem since about half a year ago. I've got all the updates, but nothing is helping. I'm horribly annoyed that EA hasn't fixed this yet, since there is clearly a pretty good number of people who have the same problem.

So, I manually downloaded the patch. When I turned my game on, it said my disc was not verified. So I repaired my permissions, and now it works perfectly. PLEASE. Before tying ANYTHING else. Repair your permissions on your hard drive.

SERIOUSLY?! after 2 years EA still can't fix this freaking problem?! that is what ****** me off about EA. woo our game works for most of our customers, who gives a **** about the 10% it's not working for.

i am at my wits end here. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the game completely TWICE. this message used to come up every now and then when i was in CAS, and now that i've reinstalled all games for the second time, the error comes up at the sims 3 title loading screen. i cannot even load my game anymore! i took out all of my mods because i uninstalled/reinstalled, so mods arent the problem. i have verified and repaired permissions. i have deleted all cache files. i couldnt even delete sims 3 preferences because none were there after reinstalling the game! i havent gotten to play at all since! i don't know what is going on and this all started after i installed pets. i'm on the latest patch (1.29) i am running osx 10.7, but i wasn't having any problems previously UNTIL i installed pets, as i have mentioned. i ejected all ext hard drives/ usb jump drives, i have turned time machine back up off. again, none of these ever caused any problems before, but i tried anyway. NOTHING WILL WORK!! i cannot even play my game anymore! i've searched the web and EA just says to reinstall your games I ALREADY DID THAT, THANKS EA!!! i am just getting so frustrated here. i just want to play!

i'm getting so frustrated after trying all kinds of remedies and yielding no results, i'm contemplating just installing the stupid game on my windows partition instead, which is incredibly sad because after how much money i've spent on these games i shouldn't have to resort to something like that
