Not a weird question, Drygonblade We've never really addressed this in the rules, but here it what I've done in the past: I'll put a car on the lot for taking pictures then delete it before uploading so that it's not reflected in the total cost. That will be fine for this challenge, and I'll speak to the other judges about having a more concrete policy in effect for future challenges. Thanks!

FINAL COST: $94,178

LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: 2 Bedroom, 3 Bath, Kitchen, Living, Dining, Laundry, & Garage for 2 vehicles and a scooter or bike.

Now that Betty is in High School, Vadim & Fatima have decided it is finally time to upgrade their home. It was a lovely starter home, but now that they have advanced their careers, and Betty is coming into her own, they desire a more practical & usable space for entertaining.

First and foremost the house needed to be gutted. This is what has been accomplished:
1) We have added a wing on the west side of the home to create 2 new spacious Bedrooms both with full baths.
a) Betty's room is a modern teenagers dream with all the amenities she desires to her to have her own private space to explore her love of music, writing, and to hang out with her friends. With both bold and subtle hues of pink, this room is everything she has dreamed of. Having a HUGE bathroom, with her own tub to have a relaxing bubble bath to release the stresses of the day, Betty can truly be content.
b) Vadim and Fatima are finally able to have the master suite they have always wanted. The center piece, of this enticing room, is a beautiful natural stone and wood fireplace for them to get cozy up to in private . Fatima's love of animal print is present throughout the room. The master bath has his and her vanity and sink areas and a separated luxury tub and toilet area for added privacy.
2) When you enter through the front door you will notice the interior walls in the main area of the house have been removed and the how the now grand space simply flows. Refurbished wood and accent colors help transform the room to a comfortable and eye pleasing space. Located in the center of the room is a double-sided stone fireplace that creates an inviting ambiance for the entire area. Let's do a quick walk through of this space:
a) Once you enter the foyer you note, to the left, you are greeted by a rich & inviting sitting area framed by a massive TV that Vadim will probably NEVER take his eyes off of.
b) In the corner just past the TV is a music area for Fatima to keep up with the latest music trends. Also note: the entire house is wired with speakers; indoors and out.
c) Shifting our eyes slightly to the right you will see the generously appointed grand gourmet kitchen. Stainless steel walls allow for easy cleaning. The counters and cabinets are done in a natural pine that make the space bright and welcoming! The eat-at counter is calling you to sit and enjoy a snack or to just read a good book.
d) Looking out from the kitchen you can see the entire room open up before your eyes. The dining area is adorned with an ancient aged pine table & chairs and a sparkling crystal chandelier. You also note the big & bold writing desk in the corner just waiting to be used.
e) Along the wall, closest to the foyer, is a contemporary bar that appears fully stocked and ready to use & teach.
3) Turning back past the fireplace, just to the left of the kitchen, are 2 doors.
a) The door on the right opens to a beautiful full bath for guests. Vadim insisted on using one of the families favorite colors on the wall.
b) Sneaking back out and to the left you find that this door opens to a state of the art Laundry Room that smells of the cedar covering the walls, just like Fatima has always dreamed of having.
4) Through the Laundry, just past another door to the driveway, is a spacious 2 car garage with a scooter rack for Betty's Birthday Suprise.
5) Going back though the living space out the patio doors is a luxurious deck with a bubbling whir-pool, diving pool, lounge area, garden, and a fishing pond.
6) The landscaping has brought in beautifully full grown trees including a romantic Willow tree, all within a fully enclosed and gated lot to help ensure the families' privacy.(nothing worse than those paparazzi walking in on your nap)
7) And lastly, the exterior of the home has been finished with locally made re-furbished bricks & quarried stone, giving the house a kiss of luxury with an earth-friendly "lipstick".

This challenge should be renamed "The Kulthero Struggle" lol! I have rebuilt the house five times so far. I'm just not happy with the layout so I keep redoing it. From what I have seen the rest of you are doing a great job with the open concept. I am going to do some houseplan browsing to get a better idea of how to layout the floorplan so that I don't keep making my house take up all the yard space haha!

Here's a tip: Integrate the kitchen with the living & dining room, but use different tiles for each of them to zone them out. This creates an open yet distinctive area to the living room, dining room and kitchen.

LOT DESCRIPTION & DETAILS: I kept the basic structure of the original house, but extended the back and added a 2nd floor. The main living space has been opened up by removing walls, and adding archways and halfwalls. The 2nd floor is a dedicated teen space with a bedroom and lounge area. Betty expressed that her lifetime wish was to be a one sim band, so the teen area reflects her love of music. Outside living areas were added with a pool in the back yard and a roof deck.
