So EA is releasing another update. Hooray.
I hope it fixes the "disappearing Sims" and "disappearing Merchant" problems. Otherwise I won't be sure about the next one.
What are your thoughts about the upcoming update?

Lets see .. I hope they fix the FPS issue. Also the mountain of other things. What scares me is this new "shop mode" they are putting in. I know some Simmers use the store. I don't. I just hope it doesn't break a dozen or more other things . ( sighs ) Time will tell.

There's a new update coming out when?
-I hope they fix this insta-family issue with people visiting foreign places were they magically have a child in another country and then the parent just happens to die and your crying your eyes out the entire adventure.
-The mirror/dresser aging issue.
-Relationship issue, because non of my sims seem to be able to form relationships past the kissing stage.

This is to release Create a World Tool – BETA. No where does it address any of the game bugs. Since it is Beta, it will likely add even more. So if you download thinking this is to fix the bugs, this is not what it is for.

IammamainRed,
If you read the news post on the Update on the way, it does sound like some bugs fixes are in there too. I remember you from the TS2 site.

I just read the news page about this update. Hopefully while pushing the store even more they will actually include some fixes for the game.
"We wanted to let you know that a new Game Update for The Sims 3 and the release of The Sims™ 3 Create a World Tool – BETA will be coming this month. Updates are the primary way for us to offer new features for your games, address any issues, and keep you up-to-date on the latest information to support online features. The upcoming December update will include several items, but we’d like to tell you today about one new feature specifically that we’re really excited about.
Introducing – Shop Mode! You heard right folks. The December update will introduce a button that will allow you to shop from The Sims 3 Store from inside your game. This new feature will enhance your shopping experience at The Sims 3 Store and allow you to access The Sims 3 Store via Shop Mode from the main menu, build or buy mode or during Create-a-Sim. As you purchase new items, they will be added to your catalog, while your game is running. You can browse the full Store catalog directly from your game and purchase furniture, décor, hair, clothing – without ever closing your game. This is a really exciting new experience for The Sims series, and we look forward to sharing with you!
Create your own worlds for The Sims 3 this December!
Create and share unique new worlds that you design with The Sims 3 Create a World Tool – BETA. Download for free and step into the shoes of The Sims 3 development team by using the same tools the team uses to create worlds and towns for The Sims 3.

I did read ALL if it. No where did it mention any bug fixes, it talks of new Features. You may read it differently, but I see no mention of any specific game bug fixes, they always list what a patch is to fix, or in the last so called game updates it did address some bugs, this update does not.
Plus, Did you call see the word BETA is part of the CAW, so this new program, not an update, it's really up to you to break your game testing, they are not even going to pretend it works.
As you will see in this link, sim guru does not say the patch is on its way.

Iam not excited about there being the shop in game, or a world creator especially when WA needs fixing. But nope they spend their time on new things instead of fixing what there already is.
Theres no way Iam downloading either shop or world creator as I think it will probably stuff things up even more and don't want to start a new game again.
I think they should implement refund sim points with the new shop as I've bought things that I hated in game, was down to 650 points then noticed the castle set but was 50 points short. It would be good if you can return items you hate and get refund of points if you decide you like something better, like in real shops.

IammamainRed,
Actually, if you read it closely, the BETA of the CAW appears to be separate from the update. They do not say that the BETA is the update.

Yamsi, yeah I got that part, I didn't word it correctly in my other post. What I am saying is they are saying the CAW is beta, want to take a guess how many will not back up their game before they play with this & then get upset when they loose all they have done up to this point.
I am very leary of this so called store update, I do not need the game phoning home, we had this with the Sims 2 later game. Can we all say Spyware ! If I want the store stuff I know to buy it, we don't need this added to the game to advertise each time I start the game. Fix what they have out now before they add more to break it even further.

I actually got the new castle set with my free points and I don't like it at all. You can't make an entire wall that fits together without using cheats to get the pieces to but up against each other. It takes a long time to build a decent looking structure with it and by the time I was done, I hated it and my hand hurt.
As for the upcoming update, I so hope they fix all the many problems with WA. If they don't and just give us direct access to the store, I'll be mad.

I'm not sure how I feel about the store being in game either. Although if it allows you to fully see or "test" an item before you spend points on it, I might feel differently. Like if you could go to CAS and have your sims "try on" an clothing item there but they couldn't wear it in game if you didn't buy it. That would be cool. Same thing with furniture, could look at it in buy/build mode but it would dissapear in live mode if it wasn't purchased. And obviously if you don't want the game "phoning home" don't play while you're connected to the internet.
