When is it coming???

I also think that it is completely unfair that we were not initially included. Anyone else have thoughts?

Have you already signed the petition that is posted above yours?

If you haven't done so already, please see the 13-page (as of this writing) petition that I started on here, including my two most recent posts with further suggestions to persuade EA to release CAW--Beta or otherwise, for the Mac.

As for "when it's coming," as much as I hate to admit it, the following is the best answer I can give you: Maybe when the "final" version is ready, maybe never; the sad truth is, we really don't know. Furthermore, we don't even know if the tool is coming to the Mac. The best thing we have is a Readme that supposedly mentions "Mac controls," but those might just be a keyboard map for Mac users running Windows with an Apple keyboard. We have more evidence against CAW for the Mac than evidence in favor of it, which admittedly isn't a good thing. Right now, the only thing we can do is attempt to get EA's attention.

If you have an old Windows disc, you might want to consider installing Windows XP on your Mac using "Boot Camp;" see Apple's website for how to do this. The good news: You'll be able to use CAW--BETA for Windows on your Mac. The bad news: You'll need to install Windows, and you'll need to install your game on the Windows partition of your hard drive as well to interface with CAW--BETA. I'm not even sure if Mac users can download or install worlds yet, so some confirmation there would be appreciated. If you have a Mac Pro with a Mac Pro RAID Card, (and if you don't know what I'm talking about, I can tell you that you don't have either item,) "Boot Camp" won't work, and you might want to try VMWare Fusion or similar virtualization software; it's an expensive, clunky workaround, but it supposedly should work, at least until EA listens to us.

I hope this information is useful, even if it isn't the answer that any of us want to hear. I admittedly wish I knew what happened to my WinXP disc, because I really don't feel like upgrading an eight-year-old PC just to meet the absolute minimum requirements for CAW--Beta so I can run something that should already be available to me. Trust me, I know how you feel about the lack of CAW--Beta.

Please sign the petition and join the letter-writing campaign for Create-A-World on the Mac: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/133489.

You CAN download and install worlds. I've only installed one currently, called Palm Island. It's working fine for me, the road is a bit messed up in places but I guess that's to do with the creator's inexperience, not my Mac.

Well, I've also been mad that the tool is not for mac, but I would like to inform you. Please review the symbol "*" next to the word "BETA" on the create-a-world page, then also scroll down to the word "PC Only". What is that symbol before it? "*" am i correct? I do not know if EA plans to ever bring the tool out of beta, but it does show that the barrier is Beta only. so we may be lucky and receive this before the sims 4 T_T, but probably not.

Wasn't CAW available in Sims 2 for both. I never really explored it and I had a PC at the time. If so then I would assume that EA will eventually bring it out for Mac on Sims 3.

I know it is extremely hard to wait for it. Like someone else mentioned you can always install windows on your Mac if you are dying to work with it. I

I have it installed on my old PC laptop. I have played with it a bit, but I have to admit it is very difficult to get a handle of the controls. I can't say that I used it long enough to really master any of it. I sort of hope they just incorporate CAW within the Game itself. I find it so much easier to do the town edits from within the game, but currently not all the features of CAW are available within the game.

It will come before 2015. It probably is coming soon. What do I mean by soon? I don't know.

Just awful that we're always left in the dust! This same thing happened with Simcity 4. EA, throw us a bone.

has anyone actually contacted EA about the CAW for the mac? I mean they don't seem to have payed any attention or responded to the petition or the suggestions from the Sims3 mac users. Have they given us any updates about even working on creating CAW for mac users?
