Argh how did you find the remains? I am still on the investigating part and am totally stumped. I went through all of the underground tombs beneath the museum but didn't find any remains. I opened every chest and consulted the big white slab near the gravestone and plaque but all it says is "View." Halp!

Update: I, too, had to return to the relic store and talk to Alexis. Glad I wasted about an hour milling around the museum

As I posted above, I had the same issues with not being able to collect any remains. It turns out that even though I had completed the entire tomb, I needed to talk to the woman who initiated the quest two more times (and subsequently look at something in the tomb twice more that I had already found) before I could successfully get the remains.

For me, the woman wasn't even shown on the map, and I had to manually find her at the relic store. That should be your issue.

i cannot figure this out, it's really starting to get to me.
i have talked to the woman at alexa's relics so much that we are bffs.
the option to "report in" is grayed out. i have clicked on every object and done every action (including view!) at least 6 times, including a trip home and back to france.
i had my klepto sim steal all the flowers where you come out of the ground. there is no hole there, just by the tombstone.
what do i have to do to get these remains?!

hey can u tell me how to complete this challenge? cuz im stuck in it now. i don't know where the switch is for the door near the bathrooms.

I've done this challenge a few times (since my game crashed + error 16).

These are the instructions to the last stages of the museum quest.

You know that room where the door stops working behind you. In that room, there is a hole in the ground. Look in there, and you will find it. When on the next part, you have to go to the back of the cemetery and find a hole in the ground between the building-like structures. Go through all of them and take the loot if you want. When you finally decide to place him in his resting place, open your Sims inventory and open the chest. Grab the guy's remains and place it in the chest box inventory. You are done!

An important note is that before these special things pop up, you will need to go back and forward to talk to the person before you can continue. Some key objects such as finding the remains will not show up until you talk to the person.

Now if only I could keep my challenges completed and not messed up by this game's errors.

i have tried to report back to the woman but the option is grayed out, it says i have not completed all of the actions necessary.
im starting to feel like this adventure is bugged.

It is not bugged. You have to go step by step on this and simply cannot do it all at once. You have to report back and do specifically what she says until the task is complete. only until you complete the section and report back will she give you the next step.

What part are you on in the quest? What is what she specifically asked you last time you reported back?

investigate and report back. i have gone through the entire tomb numerous times. i see nothing new to try anymore. i have looked through every treasure chest, stuck my hand in every hole, read the thing on the wall a million times.

Investigate what? there about five stages in which almost all of them require you to investigate.

Is it investigate the china section, investigate the Egypt section, investigate the hidden passageway, investigate the man, or take him to his burial place?

To seem be avoiding the one of the first two that I listed and go strait to the action. You cannot do that as you must do exactly as she says. If you do not, you cannot move on and things will not appear for you to complete the challenge until you complete the current objective that she tells you exactley.

the tab says "investigate and report findings."

This is confirmed, we are talking about the same adventure. What you are doing wrong is that you are not listing to the lady and going strait to the action. Please for a bit and listen. I will try to do my best to go through the whole thing.


In the beginning, the lady says that there is something strange. She wants you to make rounds in an exhibit. Now I do not know weather this is the Chinese or Egyptian exhibit, but go through all of those exhibit rooms. (DO NOT GO INTO THE TOMB!) Report back when completing this. Now, the lady will ask you to go and explore another exhibit. (I forget weather this one is the Chinese or Egyptian one too) Go through all of the rooms. (DO NOT GO INTO THE TOMB!) Report back. Next you go back to the museum and click on the switch (It has to be sparkling with lines surrounding it. You will know it when you see it). Now, you may proceed through the tomb. Once you are done, report back and she will sk you about the guy's remains. Go back into the tomb and check the hole in the ground next to that plaque. now you are almost done. Go to the cemetery and...

Go to the back end of the cemetery and find a hole in the ground between the building-like structures. Go through all of the buildings and take the loot if you want. When you finally decide to place him in his resting place, go the the center one (the center building that was previously locked before you found the switch) Open your Sims inventory and open the chest. Grab the guy's remains and place it in the chest box's inventory. You are done!


Now many of these quests require you to actually read the instructions. If you do not do so, you may have a hard time. The creators are ting to make this easy for all people, so they go step by step. This means that you cannot just simply go strait to the action. You will have to read and complete the goal before you proceed. Even though you can get into the tomb, you most likely won't complete the quest because you did not complete the first few objectives of the quest. When quests become more complicated, reading becomes essential!

If you cannot figure out which part you are on, go into your Sim's opportunity panned and click the scroll icon. In there, scroll down to your Sim, and you will see exactley what the lady, or man told you last time. Read those instructions carefully and you should be fine.


All you need to do is read the instructions and not exit out immediately and go strait to whatever you think is it. EA has tried to make it so anybody could do it if they listen to the instructions.

thank you very much. i did not realize i was not supposed to solve anything. all i needed to do was walk thru the entire museum. you would think the opportunities tab would tell you what you need to do like it normally does.
NOW it says chinese.

all it said was to go to the museum. nothing about walking in a certain area. but thank goodness they have the forums.
