No one has said if you must first type testingcheatsenabled true then press the enter key and then type buydebug and again press enter, or just type in testingecheatsenabled buydebug then the enter key.

This makes a big difference when you are following someones instructions to the letter.

So I'm going to guess it is the former.

Hold Ctrl-Shift-C down (at the same time), then type testingcheatsenabled true then hit enter (type it in the gray thing you get at the top of your screen)
Then Hold down Ctrl-Shift-C down again and type buydebug and hit enter, go to buy mode and look for a ? mark and click on that.

Just try it both ways if you can't figure out what people mean. How long can it take, 30 seconds? Wait, let me time it...

...it took about 20 seconds.

I'm a slow typer, so it took me longer then 20 second.

I often forget to mention this but there is actually some information on the cheats included in the Readme files (updated with each new expansion). I don't think it tells you everything but it can be enough to get you started at least.

ok i have tried the buydebug cheat about a 100 times and i did activate the testingcheatsenabled first but it still says unkwon command

If you type "help" (without quotes) into the console (the one you bring up by pressing ctrl+shift+c and use for all the cheats) then you'll get a list of available commands, the list is different if you have used "testingcheatsenabled true" (without quotes) so it's a good way to check if you have the cheats on or not and to make sure you have the right spelling.

Sadly my sims would not be as awesome without 'testingcheatsenabled true' and 'buydebug on'. Does anybody know about any other really helpful cheats like these?

They're probably the main ones to be honest. I'm quite fond of the occasional "unlockoutfits on", which gives you access to locked hair and clothing such as the ones used in careers or unlocked through other methods (handy in Ambitions if you want the special unlockable outfits or stylist hairstyles without going through the usual process of unlocking them). I also find that "moveobjects on" can be handy for certain special building projects (rooftop gardens and other unusual things).

Just have a read through the readme files or help list, as mentioned above, and see if any of the cheats appeal to you .

freerealestate-you can move a family onto any residential lot for free, I believe you have to be in Edit Town mode to use it. Great for populating a town.

motherlode-adds 50,000 simoleons to your household funds. Not as much fun as earning the money, but useful in a pinch.

But you need to have the ambitions, and/or World adventures for it to work

I think Macs might need to press command+shift+c to open the console if that helps.
