I thought I pitched in to help a little.

Be aware that the threads listed below will change as they are updated within the search provider's servers.

To save the page for future reference just in-case the search provider updates the page, right click the page and click 'save page as'. I recommend saving it as a text file.

More may be posted later, but this is all the time I have for now.

fidlerten, it would be helpful if you could post a link to your post so that I might be able to retrieve something to help.

Walden,

I'm not starting another thread until I get some kind of assurance that I'm not going to go and put work into it and then it gets swept away again. I will let you know when I do as I will everyone else.

Thanks,

Very well. It was for just in-case the old thread could not be received so that you wouldn't have to start a new thread completely. If anyone else wants me to help retrieve a saved file of their threads, just post the title of the thread, a link directly to where thread it was, and who created it so that I might be able to help.

Hi, Fidler.

I know this must be very frustrating. Unfortunately, I cannot recover the thread with mod privileges, but Walden95 is very tech-savvy, and he might be able to help you recover the previous one so you would not need to recreate everything. I think it is at least worth a shot. I do not know if an assurance will ever be able to be made about not losing a thread again, especially if one already has been irreversibly lost, showing that it can happen. I think people would be very disappointed if you did not continue your thread. It provides an excellent opportunity for builders to grow, and even though it may not have all advice offered since its beginning, I think it would continue to provide a valuable resource for Creative Corner members.

EQ,
I will add both of your links! I have already included MerryWidow's Builders' 101, but if I have linked to the wrong place, please let me know.

MW,
The approval process is not a permanent change. In fact, I haven't seen much in the queue this morning, so I think they may have fixed this over night.

Walden,
Thanks for stopping in and providing feedback for those who have lost their threads. It is nice to have some tech gurus who can step in and provide suggestions for our players while the Sim Gurus continue their work.

To Cera, Kittkat, MW, and EQ,
Thank you so much again. I'm just hoping to provide help wherever and whenever I can.

Sincerely,
Addict

Thank you so much for all you have done to keep us informed as to what was going on. It was nice to not be left in the dark this time. Also thank you for all you are doing to get the challenge threads up and running again. You must have achey fingers from all your posting. Out all the flustration for what was lost, it was nice to learn the new moderator was here for us!!!!!
thank you again

If what I am reading is correct, you would like the link to the old thread (in this case, "Showcasing Your Lots Workshop II"), to see if you can recover it. I can understand that Fid does not want to create a new thread yet.

Here's the link from my bookmarks the the Showcasing Your Lots Workshop II:

edit: thanks for beating me to the punch, Kimjo lol

Thanks, Kimjo.
I assure you everyone is working on this, whether it's posting here on the forums or behind the scenes trying to fix things. I only wish I could do more. I understand everyone's disappointment. Build-n-Share lost a couple of threads, including Anjubee's latest challenge, and worse, the cumulative results thread we've had going for ages. On a personal note, I also lost the thread showcasing my latest build. If anything can be done to recover everyone's work, I am confident that it will be done.

Thanks to both of you for providing the link for Fid's thread. Hopefully Walden will pop back in soon.

Sorry Walden,

I suppose I didn't quite understand what you were asking for. I thought you meant you wanted a link to a new thread I had made, which hasn't happened yet.

The main reason I was waiting was to see if they could recover the last one, but it doesn't look like that will happen. I will of course start another one. Truth is; I have most of the info from the front page saved on my computer. This is thanks to garbuckle finding the front page of the old one.

My problem is motivation. It's really hard to find the motivation to again put this thread together again and then a week, two weeks, two months or whatever; something happens again that my thread gets deleted. I'd like to know that the staff at TS3 will do what they can to make sure this doesn't happen again.

We're all here to have a good time and enjoy ourselves. This is a game and that's what games are for. It isn't very fun to me if I have to work hard to replace my thread every time I turn around. I'm also here for fun. Part of that fun is helping people, along with the game play and especially the building aspect as any of us builders would tell you.

If the other thread is not recovered today, I will get back to work and put it back together again tomorrow. Right now I just feel like enjoying my day.

Walden, any help you can offer is appreciated; thanks.

Also Addict, thank you for being so communicative.

I did not mean to imply that others were not working hard on the "problem". I am sure they were. All I wanted to do was to thank you not only for your hard work, but for the information. Sometimes it seems we are left in the dark wondering amongst ourselves, and do not always get a reasonably quick response. Sure, we are all flustrated but this time I don't feel alot of anger on the forums.Just some flustration. I think being informed helped with that.

Sorry you lost your new post. I lost my cape and party barn posts. Oh well.Live to build another day!

On the positive side, this gives me a reason to clean out my bookmarks!

Thank You again (big smile emoticon here)

Hi, Kim.
I'm sorry if it seemed like I believed you thought this. That note was more of a broad statement for everyone. General Discussion has been a rough place for the past two days, and it can be disheartening to see players who believe gurus and mods have it out for them and want to sabotage their work. I think I spent a little too much time reading those kinds of comments this morning. When it was first announced on General Discussion that I was a moderator, the thread was quickly closed because about half the posts were negative. On a welcome thread. My first day. I wasn't even home to respond before it had to be locked. It's hard to be on the other side of situations like that and only be able to do so much. I hope that makes sense. I'm probably writing more, and more personally, than I should, but I wish people would pause to remember there are real people with real emotions on the other end of that avi picture. But those bright rays of sunshine and friendship can instantly make things better. I truly appreciate your kind words today. We needed a bit of a lift.

Addict,
I have lurked, but hardly ever post on the General Discussion. It seems there are alot of younger simmers on there who still have some maturing to do. I work with "young" folk and I find remembering that their parents still have to tell them to clean their room and say thank you, a good way to deal with thier lack of mature reactions. Ona forum, mom and dad are not there to monitor them soooooooo. And of course there are adults that are just as bad.
It is thier loss. If they choose to look at the negative, it wont make them happy, just mean. I prefer to be positive as often as possible. I feel better personally. Of course I am not perfect and I have my moments, but generally speaking there are more important things going on in my life that I need to spend my energy on.
I think that is why I like the creative corner. Most people, young and older seem to be very wonderfu people with out all the drama!

Hang in there addict!

Here you go fidlerten. Please tell me if you need any specific page in the thread.
Also note that this is a saved file by Google so I recommend saving it for future use just in-case Google decides to update their files in the near future.

A google cache link? That's what I did to get Fid's first page of the original thread. I take it that means there was no actual backup?
