Doc - just letting you know I tried out your world and Sims last night and must have really been enjoying myself because the next thing I know my hubby was getting up for work. I obviously had no problems and was having a ball seeing I played a good 5 hours straight with the exception of the half hour after i first started it and let it run (to fill the service sims) on it's own while i took my shower and got all comfy in my winter warm pjs. Got myself a cup of warm herbal tea, and started playing. Must say I had fun. To my surprise my sim Sam took a shine to Tish it seems, which is good as she was one of the two I thought he might like. They are good friends already - it should prove interesting. I have not looked around outside of the houses and buildings yet, as I was busy with skills and getting the sims you provided all good relationships with each other before too much riff-raff invade the area. hehehe. I haven't done much in the way of "exploring" as Sam did not have very good handy skills - to my dismay - I thought he had better skills in handy, so I have had him reading the handiness books and fixing what ever he can - which did not always turn out as a good experience. Fixing stoves are not for the faint of heart - or lowly skilled handy -sims. hehehe - but he did survive the onslaught. Tish dropped by and soothed his savage "burns". I look forward to going back as solving detective cases are fun too and I have been able to meet a lot of the NPC sims the game added for registers and bars too. Seems they all had a case needing the help of a not-so-handy detective. Surprisingly they do not look too shabby either. hehehe
But very nice place and I look forward to going back.

One odd thing I noticed, is the Hitching Post saloon I stole from Appaloosa Plains has a bouncer. Why, I wonder?

They're nice sims Doc and have small files. Two big pluses. You are more talented than you think.

This looks amazing! This is exactly what I wanted to make when I downloaded the world creator...but that thing looks so complicated. D:
I'm definitely downloading as soon as I get on my desktop.

Ooh just seeing this and very excited! I love the original Riverdale and it has become one of my most favorite go-to worlds. I never play Twinbrook or Riverside anymore because Riverdale has everything I like about both and better done. I'm looking forward to checking out the new version.

I have no problem with a world having a city like that, as long as it is not set as a city world. Just my own silly preference, but I especially am not happy with Pets and city worlds, so i am really hoping this one is not set as a city as the housing area looks great. Knowing me the city buildings will be the land of the NPCs and I just use them for an occassional night out for my sims. hehehe Hey just like my real life. hehehe
Anyway I already know this world is probably near perfect - checking your worlds is like checking Rflongs, you two rarely have anything with problems - so that isn't a worry regardless of what you say about maybe missing something. Silly Doc! But if it's just a normal - non-city world I would be interested in at least checking it out.
I do believe I did not ever check out the first version as it came out when I was already playing and checking out another of your worlds, and I thought it was a city world. I really don't like them like I said. So I figured I'd ask. The suburbs look nice.
How do you catagorized normal world or city world. I did not know that you could do that. Is it is CAW as you build, I have not seen that.

DocSpock, do you make your own houses or use EA houses. I don't like a town that many people have been working on it or downloaded houses from others, as I find unwanted CC (furniture) and can't get rid of it. I have recently did a factory reset and was glad, I only put EA things in it now.
I am afraid to download towns although I have seen some nice ones.
Yours looks really nice and interesting.

Normal towns are default. You have to do some 'magic' stuff to make a normal town into a City. I havent figured it out yet.
As for lots, Ive built 'almost' all of them. I used the bar and an equestrian center from Appaloosa Plains. Plus the Pet Store from the LE. I do not believe Ive used any other EA lots. I have however used several lots from some of my other maps.

Writin_Reg wrote:I don't mind the non-populated at all. Gives me a chance to use some of my own favorite sims. I usually just put one in and work with them while the town adds it's own service sims, bartenders and such, so when I do add more sims, none get stuck behind a bar or register. I found I can hurry that progress and check for problems at the smae time by taking my sim to each of the destinations that need NPCs. I try to avoid getting my sim a job though until I add my own sims in, that way the game is more inclined to make my own sims co-workers and bosses with out any EA pudding faces moved into the hood. I have found out that the majority of bartender and register tillers do not take up residence in the towns houses, which leaves all of them for my sims. I also avoid getting a town full of game manufactured sims. So it is always great to have a finished town without the populations as well especially after a new ep to see things still work as they did and all my populating tricks work. My own sims are highly skilled and have jobs, complete wardrobe with no funny hats or speedos or flippers and all done the hard way - no cheating to make them what they are. I made them each one at a time everytime i test a new world I make a new sim then save him when the testing is done. Believe me, I have a TON of these girls and guys. Also before I would save them, each of my sims have either gotten a tatoo or ate ambrosia which both sends them back to the beginning of YA. I also play epic aging so it always works out I have a few hundred sims just waiting for homes.
Do you use a mod to place your sims or just move them in? This is the first time I've downloaded an unpopulated world and I was wondering how you get the game to chose your saved sims from the bin first.

I have determined that this world has a major glitch in it. When you try for a baby on one of the lots, somehow it does a silent sim reset. Both sims end up standing next to the house when trying for a baby and it doesn't get the sims pregnant. This makes the game unplayable. It only happens in this world.
