Same feeling here. I've had the screenshot glitch since about june 2011 and came across numerous other mistakes.
I have one now that I've posted here, but no one knew how to fix it. So I pretended to be American so I could chat with EA. Had about 4 chats all saying they didn't know how to help me or saying I should shut every application and then try again. I've always played with applications like itv and safari still running. So why wouldn't it be possible anymore?
Well, tried re-installing everything, for the 5th time since I bought the sims 3. Still the glitch and an error. In my starting screen I can no longer see the icons of Ambitions and World Adventures bright, so they are no longer in my game-mode. But I'm 500% certain I did install them. I'm getting sick of this ignorance of EA. I've spend so much money on al the EP's and SP's and I don't get the quality expected when paying those kinds of prices.

Have you had a chance to delete all the memories? I was shocked by how much pep my game got in its step once I mass deleted all the memories. ALL my sims' scrapbooks were full, and I assume most if not all the Townies' memories were at max, too. It was craaaazy.
Hi Jooliea,
OH YES! I was sick and tired of that memory system anyway. I was happy to find out it deletes memories in town as well! I got a great boost of stability and performance just with that one feature!

Figwit is super correct. Don't go to the MATY forums. You can get the mod directly here (warning: that IS a direct link, it will start the download if clicked). You can set up your Awesome config file here…
I went to the MATY site, didn't care for it right off the bat so thank you for the links and I'll follow your advice - they have helped me so much thus far I'll keep testing what I've got so far a while longer before trying AwsomeMod.

Hi 256Iris256,
I got a real kick out of the fact you pretended to be an American to chat with EA! WELL PLAYED!!!
I tried chatting with them via live chat or email and every time I did, it was like banging my head on a wall of public relations.
One a brighter note, I contacted them directly by phone once and was able to explain exactly what my problem was (a registration issue) and - lo and behold - I got a resolution, plus some bonus redeem code via email. You might want to try that venue.
Talking directly to EA by phone, you may have a (albeit remote) chance to talk with someone in the know. If you do, make sure you have the serial number of your delinquent EPs: Ambitions and World Adventures handy. Also, the representative may ask for some info like you're username, email and such (in other words, be prepared). I cannot promise anything, but it might be worth a shot.
That said, I'm still furious at EA for not having a better channel for serious issues like the ones you are experiencing right now. I don't take kindly either the fact that EA appears to not give a rat's a** about us Mac users.
Also, throughout this thread, there has been a lot of talk about modding the game. These are great for stability, playability and just plain fun, but if you're planning on using them, I'd advise that you to hold on until your installation problem has been resolved.
Lastly, being an avid gamer who had to deal with serious bugs in The Sims 3 of late, I understand your frustration first hand and I feel for you.
Good luck!
Sul Sul.

Loaded the latest patch EA put out and immediately started having problems with the game crashing. As one person said every 15 minutes. None of the download in game, buy in game, features work without freezing my game forcing me to 'force quit'. This time I just unregistered from the newest EA nonsense and the game has been playing relatively well. So far, no crashes. Still can't use any 'in-game' features though. sigh
Wish I had the simoleans to launch an ad campaign that slams EA's unprofessionalism re: sloppy game development and quick fixes. Their ideas are beginning to lag, I think because they are so intent in putting out a product as quickly as possible that they don't do real imaginative ideawork. Lunar Worlds is just a rework of all the other Sims worlds (except maybe Adventure World) without any new possibilities.
From the land of the truly ignorant, what are Twallan mods? etc. Would it help cure my download in game problems? Loved reading that their are Mac S3 lovers who take the abuse and keep on playing.

Yoda, it works on my Mac and mine sounds similar, though older, than yours. What is happening with your's?
LadyRise, Twallan can be found here: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/
I highly recommend his mods. They have kept my game sensible and fairly stable.
I don't play in EA worlds at all. They may be pretty but they are big, have routing issues and are full of sims I don't like. I much prefer the smaller CAW worlds built by people like Bluebell Flora and Richdre (both Mac users).

I am so stupidly overexcited by that one thing. I was nearly jumping up and down just from being able to do that. I hated memories soooooo muuuuch. So thrilled they are gone!

I am convinced that I am getting all cranky and crotchety in my old age and waving my cane around all the time.
But onto something MORE IMPORTANT THAN NEARLY ANYTHING ELSE:
What's happening with Samantha Carter and her stolen Death?! Hahaha.

I recently got a look at some of Bluebell Flora's worlds and they are gorgeous. I have been considering trying to switch up to a smaller world to improve performance more - every time I go dollhouse-building, my game groans a bit in protest since I just glommed so many objects in there. I CAN'T STOP, THOUGH. MUST BUILD HOUSES. So I have been starting to wonder if maybe getting a smaller world is a really big improvement.
And, when you say full of sims you don't like, are you populating your worlds with your own created sims? I have never tried to play in a non-EA world, so I am sans-clues.

I never got to find out! After installing the mods, I decided to scratch that game and start brand new.
But rest assure, I WILL make her steal the dude again and then we'll see what happens next...

Hi Sul,
Thanks for your reaction. I'm from Europe so I can only e-mail EA, and usually you get a mail back how to manually patch when you have a pc. Even when you state 100 times that you are a mac user. I don't think my parents would appreciate me calling overseas for a game (blegh) because that is not cheap.
I'm planning on buying showtime today and I think I'll just try to re-install everything to see if maybe my EP's will all show up. If they don't I'll have another chat with EA, but they usually all refer to this forum and say that you have to post your problem here because this is were the techs look. So why aren't there any techs in the chat that can actually help me?
Last time, they couldn't solve my issue, so I got a discount code for origin. For ORIGIN?! Don't they know mac-users don't use origin? Instead of giving out those codes they should just make there games work, so they don't even need that many people available in chat because everything works fine and smooth. Sometimes I think people at EA don't have a brain to think about that.
About the mods, I don't use any. Since they do more harm than good, mostly. And I don't need them. I only have official sims 3 store downloads.
I hope my problems will be all gone when I've re-installed. But I fear for the worst.
Iris

I've been reading this thread with great interest.
I actually just uninstalled Sims because I kept getting this error every 5 minutes and crashing my game.
I thought about asking for help, trying to get it resolved. Then I realized I'm tired of playing tech support, the game is getting more stressful then fun to play.
I also thought about switching back to Sims 2, but since I am a Mac user now I would have to shell out another couple hundred dollars to either buy Windows to put on my Mac or find the whole set of games for Mac. After I just spent over $100 on Lunar Lakes, the Future Shock collections and the Katy Perry Edition, none of which I can play.
I even tried playing Sims Social on Facebook, now That is crashing on me too.
I'm done giving EA my money and getting nothing but headaches in return. I'm just done. It's no longer fun.
