4. The home must be a single story. By that, I mean that sims should not need to take flights of stairs (or elevators) up or down to different levels within the home. ... If you want to build a multi-level structure outside of the home (such as a raised deck for entertaining or stairs up into the home because it's elevated), that's fine.
How about a multilevel garage?
I like to build a basement for workout equipment, inventor's bench, chemistry set and/or sculptor's station. Since we can't build basements on the main house can we add basements or second floors to detached garages (which would be a structure outside the home)?
Please verify that your lot does not include custom content before you enter it into the contest. There is an easy to use tool available for this purpose (Google Sims 3 Pack Cleaner).
Is there a easy way to clean sim3pack files on a Mac?

Thanks for the interest, everyone! I look forward to seeing your entries. To answer the questions so far:
One entry per person, please. You're welcome to show off any and all builds you have that meet the contest requirements, but please choose one for consideration.
You may nominate a friend to receive the prize if you win. Just please make sure they actually want the set beforehand!
No CC of any kind, including patterns. I'm sorry; I appreciate a great pattern as much as anyone, but I just won't bring CC of any kind into my game anymore.
Tricky question about the basement garage. I really don't want any separate levels in main living structures. I tend to consider the garage as a main living structure, even if it is detached. Really, the only kind of stairs I envisioned allowing were those required due to elevation, i.e. home on a hillside or for outdoor use, i.e. stairs up to a pool area or raised deck. Another question I could see coming up is whether sunken living rooms and such are okay; they are, as the sim wouldn't actually be going up or down a level.
I have no experience with the Mac at all, sorry, but I am sure there are many people out there who do. If no one is able to answer your question on this thread, I'd recommend posting a separate thread with the question.
Edit:
Ironically, the Bauhaus set is today's daily deal! I may lose some contestants due to this, but I think it's only fair to let you guys know. It's not a huge discount, but it rarely goes on sale at all. If you'd rather not wait on the outcome of a contest, you might want to check it out now.

A little ironic that the Bauhaus set is on sale for 33% off today.

Just a test

I would like to enter this, please! That set has been on my wishlist for ages and I would love for the chance to be able to remove it!

OK, no problem. I've already started on a lot where everything is wheelchair accessible, if they had them in Sims.

Sounds like an interesting and unique build!

Well, the BahHaus daily deal is over. I imagine it will be a while until we see another one. If you missed it and would still like a chance to get the set at a steep discount (free!), please consider joining this contest.

Are we allowed to use in-game re-colors?
Can we use buydebug?
Also need to know, how many adults, children, toddlers, infants.
Do you need a nursery?

Yes, to both. All building cheats are allowed (just make sure that you playtest after using them!).
I don't have a specific number of sims in mind. I'm just looking for a minimum of 3 bedrooms (you can certainly create more). There is no nursery requirement, so you can create one or not, as you choose.

I went ahead and picked up the set while it was on sale, since I know my odds of winning are low - I've won two competitions recently, so that tweaks the universal chances of winning again (at least in my experience it does).
If I should happen to win, I'll find someone else who wants it, and has it on their list. They can be the surprise recipient.

You never know - you may be on a roll! But I don't blame you (I was feeling lucky but still failed to win the Mega Millions lottery ). Glad you still want to participate.

Howdy, I uploaded the Suburban Ranch Home in November http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=4796479 . It fits perfectly with your requirements for this contest: 1. Single story; 2. Lot size 40X40 or less; 3. No residents; 4. At least 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; 5. No CC.
I am in the process of building a house specifically for the contest, so I don't want this house to be considered. I just wanted to show it off here as you suggested we could.
This house is modeled after a typical American Suburban Ranch Home from around 1960. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen open to the family room, a living room, a formal dining room and a 2 car garage with washer and dryer. Its purchase price is aprox 160,000 simoleans.
Thanks, BryonyRae for taking the time to host this contest. I can't wait to see everybodys' creations.

Hello. I'm just dropping in to say, while I'm all over this contest (BahHaus has been on my wishlist for like, ever) I'll be leaving on May 22nd for 3 months on vacation, so someone else would get much more use out of the set then me! Anyways, the real reason I'm posting is to say I took a look at your creations and they are fantastic! Really pretty.
