US PRE-ORDER SHIP DATE CONFIRMED

I just got off of EA's Support Chat, and they said

The game will ship 3-4 days before the release date (6/1/2010)

So that means if you pre-ordered it will ship today or tomorrow!! (From EA of course)

Which means a few things:

1.) IT HAS GONE GOLD
2.) You will PROBABLY GET IT ON THE RELEASE DATE (6/1)
3.) 5 more days! Woot

What does 'GONE GOLD' mean?

It seems like just yesterday that I first heard of this game and now it's coming out! I hope my new computer gets here in time!

Gone Gold Means That it has been sent to all retailers that are going to sell the game so it will be in stock on day of release.

No I think going gold means it's ready to be copied to multiple disks. Not sent to the retailers...

Yes I agree, I am pretty sure being gold is the final disk is ready for duplication.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon.com with release day shipping, so I know I will have mine in my hot little hands on 6/1.

way excellent, i've been wondering when the game might get shipped out.

Gone Gold is when the game if officially done. They've made the master disk and sent it off to be reproduced. Its called Gone Gold because of the days when the master disk was gold colored.

. I'm so dragging my kid out early in the morning to go buy it. Or i'll just go out late night my b-day and pick it up at midnight at wal-mart...which to do....

I just checked my pre-order in the EA Store and it is showing up as in process

Also, I have the holiday off on Monday - but was able to take off Tuesday as well. My boss asked me if I wanted Friday off and I asked if I could have Tuesday instead

Gone Gold definition:

When a game is said to have "gone gold," it means that the code has been finalized and is ready to be duplicated for distribution. The term goes back to the days when recordable CDs were manufactured using gold film, leading the source CD to be called the "golden master." Unlike the music industry, it is not a reference to the number of copies sold. It will typically take several weeks for a game to ship to stores and become available to consumers after it has gone gold.

i checked my acct on ea as well and it shows up as order in process as well.

I haven't pre-ordered mine, is it to late to do so before it comes out? Will I still get it in time?
