Sangstda8-Nice curb appeal and landscaping. I loved the hangout above the carport.Nice use of clutter and decor. Very Spring like feel. Maybe next time use a few more accent colors to cut down on the saturation of color. You had a very clever design asthetic. I feel you could move on to Intermediate if you wish for future challenges.
Optional challenge: Very cute and creative!

Build-n-Share Challenge #139-140 • Mending Fences Beginner Results

Sugarplumpixies-This is a cute cottage, but it looks like you replaced your media from the Mending Fences Challenge to the new one. Unfortunately that leaves me unable to judge the build for this challenge.

Aleisha18-Love your build. The landscaping is eye catching, but not overly done. I like the open layout in the living room and kitchen area. The colors are nice and bright, the game room is nice, and the bedrooms perfect for their occupants. I could spend days in your yard though. Loved it. Overall a very nice build.

Freizha-You made nice use of the space. There's plenty of room for the family here and for them to have private space as well. Next time though I would suggest either going without the foundation or going a bit smaller. For the money, you didn't put in an actual carport/garage or a family room/game room/media room. Just keep the requirements in mind for the next challenge. All in all though, it was a good build.

Sid13-I really like the look of this build. It has a nice and formal look to it from the outside. You managed to fit quite a bit of items for the family on the inside. There's lots of space and lots to do. The only drawback I see with this lot is that I would have loved to see what you could have done with outdoor items for the family, although I do like the upper balcony you have. Good job on the overall build though.

tiferoo11-This is a good sized home. I love the use of the windows and arches, they really add to the look of the house. I would suggest that next time you try to make the carport blend into the house better though. It really stands out here. Just using darker wood on the top/roof and the red of the siding on the house on the columns would have made a huge difference here, or even adding a roof. I do like that the game room is right off the pool area, but wish it and the pool faced the backyard. On a side note, be careful with your patterns and try to balance the bright colors with some that aren't so bright. Sometimes they can be a bit overwhelming. Still, it was a good job!

This was very hard to judge. All of the entries had a lot of color, patterns, and some very nice features. Basically it comes down to the part of the challenge that required an outdoor area for the family to enjoy. Great job to you all and I can't wait to see what you do on future entries.

Only one very nice entry this week by Princess_Natasha!

Comments: Lovely build PN! I really enjoyed the floral wallpaper contrasted with the striped bed cover in the bedroom. The color palette was very homey. On that note, the yellow-green was maybe a little too harsh for this build and clashed with the green in the kitchen. I loved the sort of modern country vibe you had going on. Only other criticism from my point would maybe add some more color to the exterior siding. Nice job!

Winner Is...._Princess_Natasha_

Awww! Thank you Scorpio! Good advice and compliments!

BNS #139-140 : Mending Fences : Intermediate Results

Green_Grily100
: I like the colorful exterior of the house. I love the plants but I’d suggest using terrain pant under them to make them look more realistic. Terrain paint is free so never be afraid to use it! I like the overall layout of the home and furniture placement.

mgolden27
: A lovely open floor plan. I like the kitchen. I would have liked to see a little more color especially in the bathrooms. I love the architecture and the landscape. Only suggestion here would be to add terrain paint under the picnic bench area to give it more of a realistic look and feel. I like the addition of the pool. Great pictures of the Alvi family enjoying their new home.

babybuzzing28
: A quick tip, when you take overhead pictures like on page 2 of your photo album, make sure all the walls are all the way up. The architecture is lovely and I like the layout of the house! I find the pool placement awkward. I like the colors of the living room. I find the picture placement on the wall in the hallway by the stairs (picture 9) too busy. I like the addition of a gym!

JazzieJazz1
: Beautiful architecture. Great exterior paint choices. Colorful but not overly so. Great landscape with good use of terrain paints. I like the colors and layout of the kitchen. It seems as if a tree of some kind is too close to the house because it is going through the living room wall; you shouldn’t ever allow your plants to bleed through the walls as it isn’t realistic.

kulthero777
: I love the architecture. The overall design and feel of the house is very fluid and continuing throughout the build. The landscape is lovely. I would have loved to see a bit more color used on the interiors although they were well done.

And The Winner Is ...

kulthero777

Winner Of The Optional Challenge Is...

mgolden27

Everyone did an amazing job! Thank you for participating! I hope you join in the fun again! I enjoyed seeing each and every build!

Congrats kulthero777!!! I loved your build!

And thanks for the tips _Princess_Natasha_. I'll definitely remember to keep it in mind for future builds. I do it for playsets, but never thought to for under outdoor tables, grills, etc.

I wish I had a better answer than the judges are working as quickly as possible to get all the judging done but that is the only answer I have. Thank you for waiting patiently!

mgolden27 - You are welcome! Even if you just throw down a little dirt it will help make the landscaping look far more realistic. Think about it. When you go to the park the grass under and/or around the picnic table is usually a little if not all the way worn down to dirt/mud. I do always love your entries! So keep up the good work and know I'm just trying to help you make your work stand out as much as it deserves to!

It happens! Just be sure to pull them out next time! I was recently doing a build and had to do that because my plants were bleeding into my living room! Your entry was great! I hope you enter again!

Opps, I think I meant "A Home for the Holidays" Advanced instead of "Going Green".

Anyhoo....

I know and really appreciate it. I'm trying to push myself in my builds and need all the advice I can get. I'd love to feel comfortable enough to enter in the advance category, but feel like I play it safe and don't push what you can really do with building in this game. I'm working on getting over that, hopefully the new challenge helped (Cause I'm horrible at modern) and any advice that pushes me to remember things like that helps.
