I skip the recycle bin because I don't want to have to delete the files twice. If you delete a file it's not really deleted if you use the recycle bin, it's just sitting there taking up space on your PC. It saves me time and space to just click "Shift+Delete" and poof the files are completely gone. It's just personal preference as I don't like to have to go in and clean up file fragments that are just hanging around. I have never deleted anything that I wanted to recover as I am careful about what I do actually delete. I can still get the version 14 of Overwatch on Twallan's site as he still has it up.
ETA: Pary, Pary, Pary... Girl, you shouldn't have. I wanted to gift you and I really didn't want anything in return. I appreciate you thinking of me though.
Now you have to go look at my page.
A picture for your amusement. I got a good laugh out of this one. It looks like they are doing some type of weird synchronized dance.

LOL it never fails to make me laugh when they do that panic dance around fires or sims that go into labor !
And yes, I should have ! Well, I didn't really, it was the lovely people in the gifting forum that helped me out, bless them. You page looks fab, I love that tomato !
Oh, here are the links to his custom tatts.
Lords Prayer Pack - He uses the one written in Arabic across his right forearm
Phoenix & Dark Mark - He has the phoenix (off center version, its the first one shown ) across his right bicep and the dark mark on his back ( its not on his chest- lol you think I would know my own sim by now )
Kanji Tattoos - He has the kanji symbol for Demon on his left ankle and the kanji symbol for Love on his upper left shoulder.
I dont have the chinese pack from that thread. If you install them he should appear in CAS with them on, if you use an existing copy you'll probably have to put them on for him at the Spa.
The are really nice tattoos, I am fussy about the kind I put on my sims. They scale beautifully too, with no blurring, though the Kanji symbols can if they are scaled too small.

It's a man thing - that not using the recycle bin. Every man I know of that games does that. Pete once did the same thing to me and I accidently removed the wrong column from my writing program and found it totally gone from my pc. Like hours of work, all gone. So I jumped all over Pete's case for doing that and made him fix it. He has never made that err on my machine again. But he never fails to ask if I want that changed. I think it makes them feel more daring. Most likely it's as DM said and it must be very hard to push click that recycle bin after all the deleting. Or could it be men do not believe they will ever be scatter brained enough to accidently delete something. hehehe
Well I am still on Overwatch 14. Didn't even know there was an update and it's a good thing. Can you imagine I finally break down and allow one single mod on my pc, and then that one mod could have kapowed my game. I am always telling simmers it only takes one piece of CC to mess up you game, and that seems to ring my words very true.
Either way enough of the wise cracks from this peanut gallery, and I am honestly sorry you lost all those lovely sims DM and your save.

WR, you won't get any argument here, I don't believe, that there is risk involved with using cc. In this thread anyway, I think we all acknowledge that and try to be very careful. LOL at the man thing, sort of like not asking for directions?
DM, if I were you I would do a report on Twallan's thread about what happened, with all the details since you can't provide a copy of the save, or let him know whether or not reverting to V14 would have helped. You can also let him know that your other saves are working.
The description of your freeze and Shimrod's freeze just seem to mirror each other to the point it doesn't sound like they are just conincidental, so I think the more reports to Twallan the better. If it was Overwatch related, there might be an awful lot of unhappy people who don't put the freeze together with the updated mod as the cause because it has been trouble free before now. I'm not sure I would have thought of it because of the length of time I have used Overwatch and the fact that sims saves have a way of becoming a BFBVFS on a much too regular basis.

Et tu, Brute? I see how you are, DD and Pary are rubbing off on you!
Thanks for the links Pary.
DD, I am not registered on that site so I probably won't report it.
I do have some good news, I do still have my hood as I didn't delete the backup file so all is not lost.

Hey - don't you go calling me any Brutus, Julius!!!!
If the shoe fit.... et tu!
But it is a man thing and I swear by it! As I use clean disk at least 4 times a day, even in the unlikely event that I will forget to dump my recycle bin, clean disk will easily clean the recepticle for me because it is checked marked to do so. Really it is not hard to click the bin. But I will admit that I see people (mostly men) who set up their machine not to use the recycle bin has a heck of a lot more confidence in theirselves to never be scatter-brained at all and never make a delete they didn't intend to. I my friend, and I do mean FRIEND - am not that confident in myself as I am often scatterbrained and with my head either in a fog or in the cloud or distracted because of the world around me, which includes the MAN in my life that frequently like to disrupt my train of thought with some kind of silly "come look at this" berrate or picture of cuteness from one of the family - so yeah, it's a man thing!
What woman do you know that can hear the "sky is falling" and not go into panic and start looking for a safe haven to protect their offspring and pets - while men will daredevilishly sit and wait for sign of the apocalypse knocking on their door? All the time saying to the women " You are being bamboozled, the world has not ended before, and it won't end today!"
I stand behind my words, it's a man thing!!!

 I was just teasing you!
I hadn't considered that it was a man thing before. Perhaps you are correct. I've never asked other people if they use the recycle bin or not.
I am just happy to have my hood back. I thought I deleted the backup as well.

or only one new patch, or a new expansion from EA. Sims is dangerous all around!
I usually wait a week or two after a new patch, expansion or CC before I dive in myself. Let others be the guinea pigs.

yay.DM I'm glad you got your neighborhood back. I'm still doing a clean up and restoration and going to reinstall today. I'm trying to find the registry cleaner I used last time.
I don't usually use recycle bin either. The exception being when I'm cleaning out sim folders. I only "extreme delete" if I'm absolutely able to pay full attention and have checked and double checked what I'm deleting. There was one time I was reckless and that was when I nuked a long-standing sims 3 folder that had all my downloaded cc. I nuked some Mesa Valley saves I wish I hadn't. Everything ellse was questionably infested with possibly bad cc. I nuked it because I was just sick of the game borking and was in a foul mood. Never work with files when you have pms or haven't had your daily rda of caffeine.
I shift delete because I tend to forget about the recycle bin and it fills up. I just like to have it done and over with. Delete means delete, lol.

I forgot to add I am a tomboy. I do a lot of things the way guys do...so WR can still safely stand behind her pronouncement that its a "guy thing". As for surviving the apocalypse, I saw the movie "Mad Max" years ago so I decided if the comet comes I'll be positioning myself and my family directly under it. I don't see myself doing too well in a post apocalyptic setting. The fashions are appalling.

That proves you aren't as much of a tomboy as you seem to think! I don't know many guys that would worry about fashion in a post nuclear fallout type of setting Summer.
I agree with you on the "delete means delete" comment, I don't know many people that like to do the same thing over. For example, how many of you wash dishes and then wash them again just for fun? Why have to do the same chore twice? That's the same reason I don't use the recycle bin, it's redundant.

@ DM and WR! Yes, DM, it tends to be a man thing. On the directions, a quick, true story. My DH and I were out of town working a trade show. When we started home there was all sorts of construction and somehow we missed a turn to get to the right highway. After driving in circles for about 20 minutes, I asked my DH to please stop and ask for directions because I was tired and wanted to go home. He pulls off the wrong highway into a convenience store/gas station. Does he stop at the convenience store part? No, he asks a man putting gas into his car how to get to the right highway. The man replies that he, too, is lost but thinks it is down a frontage road in some direction or the other, I don't recall prescisely what was said. My DH thanks him and much to my shock starts to exit the premises. I almost yelled stop at the top of my lungs, looked at him increduously and said "Surely, you seriously aren't going to follow directions from someone else who is also lost, are you?!" He was, until I made him back up and go inside to ask which way to go. Whenever I'm reminded of that day, I just burst out laughing. I will never understand why a man, or most men anyway, simply won't ask for directions.
Story over, question for DM. Am I assuming corretly that using your backup save with V14 is working fine? If so, I'll report your incident to Twallan with a link to this thread, if you don't mind. LMK, also lmk if you are willing to zip that save and put it up for him somewhere, if he needs/wants to look at it.
