The elevator problem is because the shafts the elevator uses shifted. Rebuilding the elevator shaft in all your buildings with the problem will fix them. Unfortunately saving the building to the library and planning to use it elsewhere rarely works for some simmers as that shift gets even worse when we upload the building then redownload them into our game, it will often shift again. Must be something in the download/upload process. You can see what I mean by using landscape paint in your sims yard - then upload the house to your studio - redownload it from your studio back into your game - and everywhere you have terraine paint will have shifted off center - generally toward the right. It is extremely annoying - but in the case of terraine paint doesn't cause a problem , but does cause problems with elevators, circular stairs, and stacked stair amoung a few other things. I have noticed every ep since LN it gets a little worse and shifts as little bit more to the right.

I have no solution but rebuilding anything you download, remove the stairs, then put them back in, and rebuild the elevator shafts - or in my case refuse to have any buildings with elevators. Angers me, as I enjoy the fun parts of elevatos - like the clumpsy sims are funny in elevator.

Oh - thank you Maria - I am just glad you found some of the worlds I suggested fun. I have the advantage of testing so many worlds to know all the different ones. So it was nothing for me - but Rflong makes so many different kind of world in different sizes that she is almost sure to have something that makes a simmer go ahhhhh!

There are also many wonderful builders out there and I have been fortunate enough to test their worlds and do love to recommend a world if I think it fits someones description. I do know Rflong is meticulous and will not allow a single error to exist - so going with one of her worlds is always a good bet.

But thank you for your kind words. I was very glad to help.

Thank you for all the info! *hugs*
Yup, don't get the static thing myself, I like running my sims with the max moodlets. ie. +75 Ambrosia,+75 Spa package, beautiful vista, having a blast etc etc.
My personal challenge is to see the happy points grow! My only 'cheat' if it is regarded as one, is to sort the Park with all the fun things, a decent bathroom, + the Actors Trailer or Sultan's Tabernacle. My sims start on an empty plot with the Trailer, a toilet, the Prof fridge and a subway! lol
They 'live' in the park until they can afford a decent house and car. I use a park with perfect produce they harvest, a pond with alleycat, angelfish + deathfish. [bags of fish, not spawned, then they can catch deathfish any time of day] They eat produce from their backpacks, never cook until their skills are high. Once they get the 1st charisma skill from the mirror in the bathroom, I take them to China, they get to talk to all the vendors, do the adventures, collect the relics + gems which they sell and it doesn't take long for them to get cash. First 'house' they get is a copy of Veranda Villa that I moo'd a hot tub onto the verandah, and a prof fridge.
I only use moo to place the hot tubs, and sometimes plants.
I have never left it on. I did not know it is a problem to leave bebug enabled. I won't do that anymore. I will turn it on now only when I enter a lot. Thank you.
They make a lot of money from doing architectural sketches, way more than for paintings. I haven't figured out a way to sell them other than take them 'home' put them on the wall and sell them in buy mode tho. Jamming in the subway brings substantial cash too. Celeb opps bring about 25K a week, and loads of cash from selling the 'gifts'. Never had a problem with celebs, they get it just from jamming, once they have it, they talk to everyone, the pap. leave them alone if they interact with them, and the perks are great. My old sims all have millions honestly earned + some have over 200,000 happy points with nothing to spend them on.
I don't play pets, didn't really want it, just got it because my husband gets me every EP + SP that comes out. Played the horse thing with my Lily Langtrey, as in r/l she did have some. I can identify with the way you play, imo cheats take the fun out of any game. I enjoy the challenge.
I have read your post several times. Hope I will eventually 'understand' it all. Also check O just for updates, update everything all the time. I have w7 64 bit and have been mystified as to where the 32 bit comes from? Have Eset [Nod] a/virus, and keep everything updated all the time. All drivers etc. Have a therma something supercool case, loads of fans etc. My vid card was faulty, apparently. The factory replaced it, but I am staying with this one. The other is now 'banked'. The iT costs have been sickening as a techie has to come 100km to my home, and I don't have the expertise to do the things myself. My W7 experience rates my rig over 7 on everything so I think that the horse/unicorn prob is def an incompatibility with the new card and Pets. Only thing that makes sense, as all the other probs were sorted with adjusting the Anti Aliasing.
September is my hope on the horizon, with the ability to turn off pet spawning my problem should disappear.
I can't wait for the exchange to be repaired and to try out some of the worlds you have told me about! Thank you so very much.
I'm sorry that I have nothing of value to contribute about the ghosts as I have little experience with them.

Well according to a Guru they did get the exchange fixed last night. As I did download and install another world to test - but I have not started that world up yet as I am presently testing Rflongs newest.

The 32 bit comes from the fact The sims 3 is actually a 32 bit game - all pcs and everything were 32 bit. 64 bit is the newest thing but because so many sites and most games still run 32 bit I run both 64 bit and 32 bit programs. I have Internet Explorer 9 in both 32 and 64 bit so I had to have both versions of Java and flash player. Flash player is easy as it automatically gives you both when you tell it you want the 64 bit version if asked - but java you have to download both. Also Windows 7 still just comes with the 32 bit I.E. - I had to add the 64 bit version of IE myself and the Java like I said. But 64 bit is so new most people are not accustomed to dealing with it and the few that did that aren't tech did not realize until rest of the world catches up as most games and sites are 32 bit, that you have to have both and both versions of the software that goes with it. Otherwise you may have problems in games or on various web sites - it won't mess your machine or anything - you just will have trouble navagating some cites or playing games etc.

If people are confused I tell them to stick to 32 bit in everything as that will work every where until rest of the world gets caught up. It could take years. So everything in 32 bit - is always safe.

I am not really as smart as people think regarding systems and pc - I am still learning, but having a pc tech for a hubby and my middleson is a C+++ Programmer and pc and apple Tech. Most generally when my son visits or even calls, all talk revolves around technology, pcs, and programming. You inadvertedly pick it up even if you didn't want to. hehehe Generally I get interested and start asking questions. My son is good at sending me manual or documents on new technology info whenever we have discussed anything new and I asked questions.

Funny I got my kids into pcs and teaching them; now they are grown went to college for computer - all 3 are involved in some kind of computer/technology - but now they teach me. My hubby used to be into Ham and CB radio and was also a builder - but got hurt while building at the University of NH about 22 years ago, so had to do some regrouping and he went back to college and studied computer. It was funny I had one of my sons and my hubby in college together. At UNH of course.

I am one of those that hate not knowing something or guessing wildly - I would rather know the answers than ask. So I do try to learn what helps me. About the only thing I don't get into is programming. I did learn machine basics back in the late 80 and programmed early pcs - but when they changed things to C+++ - even before that - they lost me. Leave it to my kids.

Lol, Yeah, I'm a pc idiot and also had two sons in iT. Lost one but the other is doing well and a born programmer, was writing prog's when dos was the language + he was a teen! I felt that windows made everything so wonderful. Used to be idiot proof. I could do anything. Just click to install, then they brought in the games that forced you to install with servers and I was shattered. It forced me onto the Net and I didn't even know how to use Word so it was a learning curve even to learn to post. Fortunately the boys on my 'home' forum at the Elder Scrolls patiently 'talked' me thru it. Been here as well for a year now, altho only full use for a few months.
Thank you, the information you give me is not wasted, I put it to good use. Just sorting a few of my 'about to implode' hoods out so I can get rid of them, and will be starting a journey to a 'brave new world'!! hugs

@amjoie, apologies for bringing 'my problem' into it, hopefully it will also help those down the road who will get issues with new cards. You have no wishlist for me to send a 'token' as a thank you for the help you have given, but made absolutely sure nothing in yr beautiful studio has not been rec'd by me.
@Reg, thank you. I think the guy for me is Quailhog. In the hopes that it is possible for a 'pre pets' user gen'd world to stay 'wild horse free' I d/l'd the world prior to the 'new one'. What is a Beta world? That one did not have Pets either. Thank you. Will let you know what happens!

You don't want the beta - as that is before the game was finalize - when we were testing the world for Quailhogs. But you don't have to worry about Wild horses if you get the world of his that is a City World - there are only the little spawner creatures no dogs, cats, horses, deer or raccoon running wild. The world classified as cities have no stray animals - but your sims can still adopt pets - there just no stray ones. But defintely don't get a beta, as it may be missing some fixes..

Also even if a world does not have pets in it, but you have pets, you will get the strays in all but city worlds. When a world says it does not have pets that just means the pet related building and decor. I can take a base game world and have all the eps and will get pets and strays all over the place because I own pets.

Now if you don't have pets, you can't even download a world that has them.

NO I don't have a wish list because I own the whole store pretty much. The only things I don't have are a tiny bit of clothing that I could not tolerate the looks of. So definitely do not want. Between the very generous gifters here and all the sales they had during the Holidays -I finished getting all the things in the store. But thanks anyway. And thank you for the recs. There is definitely nothing special in my houses. hehehe

Thank you sooo much!
New question: I have Ginny Workman, VanessaVenner's Genie sim, discovered that when she 'enscorcells' a sim they become 'part of the family', say one did then 'cheat' their L/t points, you could give them all the perks, including the midlife crisis, would it then be safe to change the traits? One is able to let them change jobs to one that matches their L/T wish, which more often than not is not the career Ea have put them in? I find that my caveat against not cheating my sims doesn't seem to be averse to doing this. There of course would be no point to it if it destroys the hood anyway.
Oh! Btw, I do have strays and wild horses all over Bridgeport, so so much for they don't spawn in cities. I know they are not supposed to, but they do. It's like finding songbirds in the heart of Egyptian tombs. It breaks my heart. I am convinced they have added Pet spawners to the rocks and gems, as well as to the butterflies, as the 'creatures' are always near insects or rocks etc in all the worlds. Obviously one is not able to 'remove' the spawners 'out in the world'. I have thought one could possibly put a lot from edit town, go in and remove the spawner, but you can't get to everything, and where would it end!!!
Interestingly, Rivierview has thus far proved the longest lasting hood , and that is with or without the Horse venue in it. I would have thought it would be SSV, but that has not been my experience. Off to get the Grey/Gen version! Thank you! hugs. Btw, I think you make great houses. I always think that Ea waste a ton of space, I love small houses on small lots, imo, makes for easy, enjoyable playing, not a whole bunch of time just going from place to place!

It is totally safe to use the award to change the traits. I use it as soon as a sim can get it if I play a sim I didn';t make. Like the Goths - I like them a lot but hate the grumpy trait - so I make those sims work hard to get that item (yes I do it the hardway too - it's more fun for me) - and I will quickly change those traits. It IS as safe as changing jobs and things like that as the game is actually programmed to do that with that award.

That is weird about strays in Bridgeport - but I honestly do not like Bridgeport and have not played it since the first week LN was out. I don't do well around the highrises - makes my stomach queasy the way they bounce - and believe me had I not needed to find out why sims got stuck in the elevators I would totally raze Bridgeport and get rid of anything higher than 3 floors. But unfortunately for me I can't let things lie - so I had to investigate why those buidlings lagged. Might I add Quailhogs has his all working fine - that fellow has magic fingers - so any you see in his worlds worked great when I tested those worlds. All of the creators on my list have their versions fixed in any worlds that they have any kind of highrise in - so you should not have issues with theirs.

As far as pets spawner - yes - they are self spawning - which really makes no sense that EA also offers the little creatures with buydebug spawners also as all worlds that have seed/rock/ and gem spawners will altomatically spawn the little creatures. The larger animals have no spawners anywhere and are programmed into the game via the EP itself. This is why I cannot understand you getting the horses, Unicorns, deer, raccoons, dog, and cat strays in city worlds as these are programmed in for only non-city designated worlds. I only get those collectible creatures in worlds designated as Cities that I have tested. I rarely play any city designated world after testing though as I want the creatures and do not have any problems with them. But even creators cannot place any spawners for any of the strays as there is none period.

[but mine is a blush, not an oops].
I'm a pathetic whoose when it comes to animals. Even when they are 'not real'. I can't stand the thought of them in captivity, and found out the hard way you can't rescue all the strays. Worked my patoodie off getting the young again happy points for the horses to 'rescue' the old ones, only to discover exactly the same ones for rescue when I went back for more. The street strays are endless, so have never gone back to Appaloosa again.
I did 'discover' a sure fire way to get rid of those 'homeless shelters' for horses, cats and dogs in BP tho, all you have to do is use the 'buy on this lot' click, [my sims can usually afford it] and when you provide the pet care stuff, the 'shelter' disappears the next day, along with the animals.
Btw, I have even had a Unicorn 'appear' at the Science lab in BP.

Well the Unicorn actually is different than the strays and yes that should appear I found out, as it is THE CREATURE" and is magical and does not have anything to do with strays. So come to find out it will appear, but the horses, deer, cats, dogs, and racoons are not supposed to appear in Bridgeport. A person I asked verified it, but they did say you might have a mod that alters that if you are getting them in Bridgeport. Also Bridgeport is the only EA world classified as a city and has this restriction of the regular ep worlds.

What shelters? Is this a Bridgeport only thing - as I am not seeing shelters in my game, but like I said I don't play Bridgeport and only have gone back in there to find out what was wrong with the Highrises and apts a while ago. I never saw any creatures but then I was basically just checking out the highrises. I didn't stay long, as I found out I could check them out just as easily in any world. I was also helping someone else isolate the problems because I really didn't care with what was wrong with them anyway, but they were affecting a world I was testing so, I had no choice but try and find why they were messed up.

Bridgeport definitely does have strays in my BP sometimes, and I have never had a mod. Strangely, it doesn't happen in every BP game.
What does happen in every game is that some arb family is either a dog/cat homeless shelter with the 'golden tag', and a horse shelter ditto. What gives you the heads up it's happened before you see it in map view, is you start getting the 'our cat/dog/horse gave birth...'
I know the minute a wild horse/unicorn spawns because when they do I get the 'flashing' lights that indicate the arrival of the 'shattered crystals' I get in the sky when they do.
Strangely enough, they haven't as yet caused the 'crystals' in Riverview, so I'm holding thumbs!
I must add, not only do I not have mods, I also never put a 'fishing spot' in BP either, had I ever done so, I would have seen that as the 'culprit'as regards the spawning wild horses and Unicorn.
I'm not actually sure where the horses spawn. I'll try to identify a place.
The horse shelter is always the Littler household.
Mostly the smaller pets are the Artist family in the apartment with Harry Marks, Matilda Smart + Alexis Fresco, but not exclusively. I have checked, btw, there are no spawners on those lots.
As stated, clicking on, + putting the food/equipment for the pets sees them removed in a Sim day or two, as does sending my sim there to scatter hay, brush/clean their hooves.
Alternatively, placing hay, + young Bronson Littler scattering it, causes it to be removed as well. The golden tag vanishes, as do the horses and foals.
Distinctly odd.

In the interests of 'front page', yup, cats, dogs + horses, shelters in a new BP. Phone calls come on all three even before the sim knows very many people.
