Sims 3 Showtime needs internet to run?

To everyone speculating that the life state is going to be a mer-sim/mer-person:

What would a mer-sim do? How could he/she function if we can't swim in the ocean? In the pool? It kind of seems like a boring life state to me.

Personally I REALLY want mersims. or witches. I don't like aliens

Same here! and it would be cool if the voice could be plucked out by a octopus lady thing named Simmula and the mermaid can be called Simiel! (or Ariel!)

think that the sims 3 showtime will have mersims and yes i think we will have swimable oceans.

I like the idea of a mersim, but your hints are very vague. At this stage, i don't know what to expect.

I know... why will they not tell us what it is?! well lets hope it's (showtime) going to have a Creature. Maybe it's a simicorn- sim that has a horn on it's head.
