1.5/1.6 patch for mac - available?

There's another post suggesting that EA make a show of good faith by offering us simpoints or something equivalent. Sign it, and you never know. You'd think they'd want to keep the "5% market share". If their sales decreased by 5%, they'd prolly get concerned...so maybe they'll do a little to keep us as customers.

i've been following this post ever since it started, i unfortunately didn't do my research and bought my game online because i never have time to go to a store to buy my game, as a pc user playing the sims 2, i've purchased every single game, and switching to mac seeing how we're being treated is complete and utter bs. i feel that we should be compensated for their mistake and that the way that they are treating the mac users, we spend just as much money as the pc users if not even more ea games needs to write some type of formal apology when they come out with this patch whenever it does come out, because this was a waste of my time and hard earned cash to continue playing a game that i love and have been waiting for. i am honestly in disbelief of what they are doing, and how shady they are about it, but hey, if they took are money and allowed us to buy a game that we cant play then this new patch thats coming out better be a darn good one, because they do have the funding.

That sounds about right. It sucks that some people can get the game working and some can't. I don't understand why some games install and some don't. It worked on mine (but I ended up uninstalling because my sims3pack files wouldn't install), but maybe that's because I have virtually nothing else on my Mac and it still has pretty much all the factory settings.

Also, if EA knew that the update wasn't going to be out for Mac the same time as Windows, why didn't they tell us that? Maybe we would have been a little less upset. Oh wait, I know why. Because they wanted us to run out and buy WA on release day to up their sales! Silly me, how could I forget....

just got an email moments ago from Gametree online

"As you may already know, the digital version of the Sims 3 expansion requires an update patch from EA before it will be compatible with the base game. Unfortunately the release of this patch from EA has been delayed, and we have been informed it will be available this week."

its weird how third parties have more info than EA's own tech support. but thanks for the update.

That's because Sims3 for Mac runs inside rubbish software called Cider over which EA have no control.

SimGuruColin. Please. Stop wasting our time. I grow weary of you and the rest of the Guru's half-a****, cut-and-paste, airy, unhelpful statements regarding the state of The Sims WA for Mac users. Just come out with it and say:

"Sorry, this ish will not be ready until next year. Bye"

That, I will accept, instead of this phantom problem that no one from EA will even ACKNOWLEDGE. Why hasn't there been a formal statement on....I don't know...THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE?!?!!? Gametree has been more forthright with us. They even offered us a DISCOUNT on a future game....and they weren't even the ones that messed up!!! What have YOU given us? Statements as useful as deionized water to a man dying of dehydration! Or better yet, a $40 waste of 3.2 GB!!!

The fact that there is no impending release date makes me sick to my stomach.

Oh, and I wish you would start telling their tech support to READ to emails sent in. People are writing in asking about installing WA for Macs and your "tech support" sends instructions for Windows....::blank stare::

Ignoring the problem is only going to make it worse. The Sims 3: World Adventures is now a festering BOIL that will only get worse until you acknowledge it....and no. Message boards do not count. We aren't nearly as patient as you believe.

This is very disappointing. I too, downloaded WA as soon as it was made available and here I sit waiting.

I have decided that I will not purchase any more EA games, regardless of the platform, for my family or for any other family members for holidays or birthdays, ever again.

Don't they realize how many sales they will lose over this apathy for Mac customer's needs? Totally unacceptable.
