I couldn’t find any media to judge this build. Sorry, your link led to your studio and there were no pictures anywhere for this.

Dark_Tig3r

I like the overall look of this house. I found it very welcoming. You created a nice floor plan, giving all the houses occupant’s lots of space to use for family time or for privacy.

Suggestions: There’s a lot of empty space. Next time you could build the home a little smaller, allowing you to spend more on the furnishings and making sure you don’t have as much wasted space.

JGRocks2010

I couldn’t find any media for you as well. Your link also led to your studio. Sorry about that.

I love the landscaping and the curb appeal it gives this house. Inside I love that each room is clearly separate from the others, but open as well. I love the placement of the objects, your use of color and patterns, and the fact you gave Betty a nice private space. Betty’s bedroom and living area is fun and colorful; it’s also great that she could put that outdoor area upstairs to good use with her friends.

Suggestions: You may want to consider area rugs or playing with the flooring on the second floor like you did on the first. You broke it up nicely on the first floor by room, but on the second floor of the house it’s a large expanse of white. It would have been nice to see the area under the bed and the area under the sofa with rugs.

pop_electric

Your house is very cute. I love the patterns and colors you choose. The layout is nice and the landscaping looks great.

Suggestions: I would have like to see individual photos so they were larger. I also would have like more photos. Next time you may want to do pictures of different angles of each room so we can see more of the house.

Freizha

I like the brick on this house, the balcony above the entrance way, and the style. Inside you have a lot of space. I like the entry and the floor plan. The little patio on the side of the house is nice.

Suggestions: I would have liked to see the trees spread out over the yard more, instead of just in that one area. For the pool area, it may have been a better idea to use terrain paint instead of the tile. Because of the hill surrounding the house, it would have made the pool blend in more with the landscaping instead of standing out more. On the patio, it would have been nice to have a shorter fence or on the family could see through, that way they could look down over the pool area. Also keep your eye out for wasted space. You have a lot of empty areas in the house that makes it feel too big for this family.

And the winner is....

And the winner for the optional challenge is:

Congrats!!!

Build-N-Share Challenge #143-144 Icy Hot -- Intermediate Results

All of you had very nice entries this week. Great job all of you.

mgolden27- Very interesting architecture. I liked the elevated deck above the garages. This home really had the curb appeal and rew your eye in. The game room was my favorite room. I relly liked the rug you used. That being said, the kitchen cabinets were my least favorite. Something about the paint choice threw off the flow of the interior. The rug patterns to me were a little too busy in the living room and dining room for the interior.
Optional challenge: Nice version of Finn. He was very active throughout the house.

Anniepks-I liked the minimalist take on this build. It was different. I would have liked to seen a little more accent color in the interiors to liven the interior up a bit. The master bedroom and bath were my favorites. They were very nicely done. The guest bedroom and bath were also very nice and livable which is a big plus. I would have liked to seen a bit more clutter even with the minimalist take. It would have given the home a more inviting turn.
Optional challenge: Anothe distinguished Finn.

Irishsimmer22-Nice architecture . Your color selections and pattern usage were very detailed and thorough. The master bedroom was a fine example of this. The didnig room was my favorie area. it was very creative. I would have liked to have seen a bit more clutter to give the home a lived in atmosphere. Some landscaping would have also raised the bar for this build, maybe a water feature or a rock garden.
Optional challenge: Nice Finn and his visit to his home!

Shadowinsims_ Creative pool and patio area. It made for an eye catching appearance. Master bedroom and bath were very nice and creative. My biggest thing was your patterns were sometimes a little busy and competed with each other for dominance. The overall build was very nice.
Optional Challenge: Another creative take on Finn.

Green_Girly100-Appealing architecture on this build. I like your color accents with the neutrals. Rock sculpture was an ingenious touch. Cool use of the sunken theater. Kitchen was my favorite room because it had personality. I would have liked to seen some more materials inside the home to break up some of the wood.
Optional challenge: Cool version of Finn and his home tour.

Greenowl77-Architecture was superb. Really added the curb appeal going with this build. I liked you use of the multi-level living areas, it brought in a touch of realism. Ingenious sauna for Finn. Thumbs up on that! I would have liked to seen a bit more clutter and a lived in aura to the place.
Optional Challenge: Nice touches of showing off Finn in his home.

Kulthero777-Creative uses of CFE to form the multiple levels with all the stairs. Unique. Gym and sauna were perfect adds. The game room with it's bolder colors and contrast was my favorite place, I also liked the zen garden touch to the interior. I would have liked to have seen all the interior main doors to have been more cohesive. The interior said ultramodern in a big. I liked all the wood and white but maybe a little more texture or accent to break it up a little.
Optional challenge: Great show of Finn and his home!

Tifferoo11- Architecture again was a strong point for this entry. The seperate garage was a nice touch. Creative touch with the shark tank. Kudos! Glad to see the landscaping and the outdoor area was very welcoming. I would liked to have seen a bit more clutter to add some depth and warmth. This was a very nice and thoughtout build.
Optional Challenge: Finn looked like this home was perfect.

JoubertCG- Iliked the plain but modern take on the interior. Thinking outside the box is always creative but saying that I would liked to have seen some more colors accenting the interiors and some textures to vary the surfaces. Nice architecture on this build. All the windows were very nice and gave the inhabitants some great views. Another great job!
Optional challenge: Great work on Finn!

Clovergoddess- Great landscaping which accented the homes curb appeal. I thought the living room had a lot of appeal. I liked your step garden but ultramodern homes usually go for a sleeker landscaping. Not so much floral as a lot of shrubs and rock garcens. This home had a more liveable air to it which I liked. I would have liked to seen more and a more vai ried color usage in the interior. This home had a more homey and welcoming presence.
Optional challenge: Great Finn and showing him in his new home.

DrygonBlade: Architecture really stands out on this one. Some landscaping would have really kicked it up a notch! The kitchen was spectacular. the wood cabinets with the aqua colors was very nice! The rug in the licving room was a nice touch. The master suite layout was also a very thought out touch! The living room colors could have been a little more inviting in my opinion. This was a stand out home.
Optional challenge: Finn looked really at home in his new pad!

Since we had so many entries that means we have a few more winners this week. Great job to you all!

ADVANCED RESULTS--CHALLENGE #137-138--VIVALDI'S FOUR SEASONS

Only one entry for this challenge and it was a great one.
ShadesofNormal--I loved the Mediterranean feel and architecture you used for this build. It was very creative. Fantastic use of CFE. I really liked your music room as it was well intergrated with the design. The living room was my favorite area. The colors you used for some of the rooms were a little bit feminine in my iopinion for a single dad and the master bedroom was a little plain and could have used a little dash of excitement. Overall a very nice home with substantial appeal.

ADVANCED RESULTS--CHALLENGE #141-142--A COTTAGE IN THE WOODS

Kiyalynn- You had wonderful architecture and landscaping. I loved the idea of the raised lot with the stairs and fences. The green and yellow bedroom was a nice touch especially having it on a lower level. The living area was a bit monotone with the red, maybe varying the shades a bit more would add some depth. The secret room location and entrance was a nice touch. Overall a nice job and very interesting in design,

Aquacatt- I liked your two story take on the cottage and the architecture. I really loved the deck surrounding the upper level. It was an interesting take sort of modern and rustic combined. The green living room really stood out to me in a good way. I liked your choice of hiding the secret room entrance behind the bookcase. The green door for the entrance was sort of hidden behind the landscaping though. A very appealing cottage and had some very nice touches.

Shadesof Normal-Very unique take on the architecture and design by makig it a Hobbit Hole. Your interior colors and furniture choices were really well thought out. Iliked all the gree tones you used but may have been nice to seen some other colors more liberally mixed in to the mix. Hidden room was nice and thoughtout. Overall a unique take on this challenge and an excellent design.

This was really hard to narrow down for a winner. All of the entries were well done and unique.

WINNER: SHADESOFNORMAL

Thanks, I'm honored! You're right on the "too green" deal... that could have been toned down a bit

Entry List • #147-148 • Spring Designer Showdown

I want to say that each of you did an excellent job in showing your object by your designs. I loved each of the builds and it was very hard to choose a winner. I just wanted to say that I went off of which of you kept the build the closest it was to the original upload (aside from the stairs area, where I know there was a problem) and which one outright I could tell which “Inspiration” object was used.

courtsterr9-I like the curb appeal your design has. The placement of objects on the inside is nice also. I like the darker colors of the Master Bedroom and the nursery is adorable.

Suggestions: Next time I would like to see a longer video with more views of each room.

Dark_Tig3r-I love the landscaping, the tree with the flowers and wheelbarrow was perfect. I like the color scheme inside, the placement of the objects, and décor. You made excellent use of space.

Suggestions: Inside the half bathroom you could see some of the plants from outside in the picture. Next time use the alt button to shift the plant just enough so that it’s in its space outside, but doesn’t show in the rooms inside.

Sugarplumpixies-I love the fun, vibrant colors you show throughout the house. The landscaping is great. I love the pool and the use of terrain paints around it. The sitting area outside is nice and cozy. Great use of space and items inside.

Suggestions: While you made excellent use of the terrain paints, next time you may want to put dirt under the fire pit outside. It’s always something to keep in mind when placing tables, fire pits, and even play equipment outside.

saint_gambi-I like the modern look, with the splashes of pink in the house. You did a nice job on landscaping. I really like what you did with the coffee/end table in the living area. I never would have thought to use moveobjects to do that and create a coffee table.

Suggestions: I would have like to see a few things to make it homier on the inside. Maybe some décor such as the pencils in the office, or a picture frame on the end table in the one bedroom. Just a couple small things that say home.

Madstrike36-I loved the walls! I could tell what object you used just by seeing the main rooms. I like the way the rooms are set up. Nice addition of the fireplace in the dining area. I like the art studio, although I thought dancing studio if the easel wasn’t there. 

Suggestions: I felt like the yard and some rooms were a little bare. Next time I would suggest saving money where you can (Like using terrain paints for drive/walk ways) and adding more plants or a garden to the outside, then maybe add some rugs/plants to the inside.

mudmittens1-First off, I love the fact that the house is pink! I love the mix of brown and pink for this. It was an interesting move, moving the front door to that small room and making an entry out of it. It was the perfect place to hang the inspiration item. I love the colors throughout the house, the patterns used, and placement of items. The landscaping was fantastic as always.

Suggestions: I think the only thing I would have done here is add an area rug/custom carpet in the living area to break up the wood floor and help to make it stand out as its own area while blending with the rest of that open space.

Freizha-I like the layout of your kitchen and the placement of the dining table. The living room has a nice setup as well. Good placement of objects and use of rooms upstairs. The landscaping you have is nicely done.

Suggestions: You have some empty rooms, I would work on filling them. There are tons of ways to do this. Work on your landscaping a bit and really look at what the game offers for free if you’re running short on funds. If you use cheats, check out the buydebug cheat…you can use a lot of stuff from there that would add to your outdoors.

3rd Place: Sugarplumpixies

2nd Place: mudmittens1

And the 1st Place winner is:

Dark_Tig3r
