Looks like my original thread is gone... so this is the official beta thread. New versions come out as the number of fixes warrant them!












This world requires WORLD ADVENTURES, AMBITIONS and LATE NIGHT

Version 1.1 change list:

- Hopefully fixed the routing issue of the hangout
- House descriptions with number of bedrooms, child bedrooms, nurseries, and bathrooms
- Community lot descriptions
- Finished out some of the unfinished houses
- Fire station should now be functional
- Bistro layout updated to (hopefully) fix the bottleneck

Downloading it right now I will give you feedback for sure! Sorry for your loss of the thread, I really hope EA can bring it back

Update:
Umm... I clicked New Game, selected your world, and it starts loading and then my game crashes. Hopefully this hasn't happened to other people :S I was really hoping it would work.. maybe it's because I don'T have ambitions installed ?I'Ll try to install it and see after..

aww I'm sorry your thread got deleted in this mysterious maintenance cycle Iccarus.

I think you'd already looked at what I had written, so no need to recap that here. I'll be playing some more later today, and will let you know if I find any issues

@Pary: Could you do me a favor and post a screen shot of what you did at the bistro to fix the bottleneck? I'm interested to see if you fixed the problem.

I ran into an issue with the bistro too.

image oneHad a kid caught between two chairs and an adult who wouldn't move. He stayed there for a while too.

image twoThen He finally got out and went into the bistro. But then came out a few sim minutes later without any food and got stuck...somehow. in the middle of the yard.

image threeHe went back and forth like that(from the bistro/outside) *atleast* three times. Eventually he got by whatever was in his way(air??) and left.

poor kid couldn't catch a break
I haven't had much time to play today so I'm not sure if the bistro was the only thing causing issues.

Sure, here is a pic. All I did was move some chairs and tables around, remove the fountain and open up another entrance in the fence.

ETA: I also removed all the planter boxes.

@DD: Thanks for starting that other thread, sorry I didn't see it earlier. I don't know what's going on with that area, I know it's having some routing issues. I'll try to rebuild the routing and retry it, but I know that I've rebuilt the routing since those lots had been placed. Maybe I placed the lots too close to the road in CAW? I can try redraw the lots and then place them down again and rebuild routing... don't know if it will fix anything, but it's worth a shot!

@Pary: Thanks for posting the screeny! If that fixed the problem, would it be alright with you if I used the updated layout?

It fixed the problem for me, but as I said initially, right now I only have about 9 families in the world. Still, I think there is a limit on how many sims will actually show up on a community lot at one time isn't there? So I guess there shouldn't be too many issues with two methods of entry, unless sims decide to congregate at both entrances ( doubtful )

I've finally got the hangout lot working. Rather than go through a list of what didn't work, I'll cut to the chase and tell you what did. The only way I could fix it was to save a copy to the library, bulldoze the existing lot and then put it back in from the copy in the library. I have no idea what was wrong with it but it's accessible now from anywhere, no more route fail if you direct a sim to go there.

No need to apologize for not noticing the other thread. It was meant to be temporary until EA either fixed the forum, or, like you've done now, set up a new thread yourself.

I haven't taken a sim to the bistro yet but since Pary was kind enough to post the pic at least I know how it should look to work properly.

The fire station doesn't have the alarm bells in it, so sims can't become firefighters.

Iccarus, are you still planning on releasing a new download this weekend? Not trying to rush you. I'm checking only because I've suspended testing because it looked like a new file was imminent.

EDIT: The bistro is also updated.
