I finally got a reply this morning, they said that they were sorry for the inconvenience and they are working on the issue and then he gave me a new code for my game and registered it for me, and it is showing as registered on my page now.

I got an email saying that they hadn't yet fixed the problem and that I should try and re-register in 3 to 4 days however, immediately behind that email, I had an email saying "Thank you for registering The Sims 3 Fast Lane!" I don't see the little icon in the "My Games" area of my profile so I'm not sure if it's registered or not. They told me it was, then it wasn't, now the email says it's registered. Uh .......
Hello I have the same problem too. And when I contacted EA, I got 2 emails and both of them had the same message but from different senders. and here's what it says:
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
I understand you're having problems with the game, and we apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused you.
Unfortunately, our engineering team is trying to resolve this issue. They are working to address it as soon as humanly possible, but I don't have an estimated time of resolution right now. Please give us a little more time to get it resolved, and try again later. .

I just bought and installed it. It first said that I had an issue with my game not registering and then I put in the Master Suite game that I had beforehand and it registered my Fast Lane game. I guess that they got it to work when I had to put in the Master Suite CD in instead of Fast Lane for it to play.
I reported this on Christmas Day, that my new game in a sealed box, would not register and saying it was an invalid code.
I received an email from EA to say they were registering this to my account. This still has not happened. I have tried to register this again today 4 times and still keep getting an invalid code. None of the reasons (what does this mean? in red) listed are true in my case.
Please, could someone at EA, please sort this out.
