Same exact thing is happening to me

I got the same error code for Christmas. Lucky me. EA you really need to look into this thread. I can't play anymore since I got the expansion and that means I can't buy stuff online from you and that also means that I wont be able to use any future expansion packs or stuff packs.

I'm getting a similar error when trying to install items from the Store.
The first time clicking the 'download' button does nothing (apart from giving me the 'Thank You' message), then I go to my Purchase history, click 'Download again' and it brings up this error. I can't install anything from the store, they don't even go to my Downloads folder.

I have World Adventures, and it seems the Store tries to install items with the original game launcher. Maybe that's the issue?

Please make sure you are fully updated, as one of the fixes from the update released after World Adventures was released fixes downloading on mac and the application forwarding issue you are seeing.

I had this same error UNTILLLLLLL i went through my downloads folder and found out there was a corrupt ".sims3pack"
i'm not sure if you guys have been installing packages off the internet but most are dodgy and corrupt.

Check through your /electronic arts/downloads folder, i had this error, deleted the corrupt file and it worked like a charm.

The following seemed to work for me...

The saved games are in ~\documents\Electronic Arts. I renamed the folder (just changed the first character to an underscore) and then loaded up Sims 3. This worked fine. The game then creates a new 'Electronic Arts' folder so I quit the game, deleted that new folder and renamed the old one back to it's original state. That seemed to do the job!

I tried this and sadly it didn't work for me!

This is extremely frustrating! Especially since most of us have been loyal sims fans since the beginning and EA just ignores us.
