A few peoples opinions do not matter to me hon. I have played all the Sims and the Sims Medieval. SM is not the evil game it is made out to be and is actually a refreshing change. I will give my own opinions because I have firsthand knowledge, I would not go and say "hey it is horrible because a bunch of people say so", there were plenty of people in the Medieval forums who at one time would disagree with your assessment, but that place is a ghost town because the game is dead in the water. There are plenty of games I like and don't like and they are based on my usage and not what I read. Reviews are good for the basics, but that is it. Too know for sure whether or not you are going to like something is to actually try it firsthand.

Since that person did, it follows that you can as well.

Exactly. That's why I said it that way. I'm sure it's a nice church and all, but I prefer to build my own, because I don't do elaborate churches. I do very plain simple churches that my Sims can come in and sit down and "worship" at. That's the main reason I want the podium that attracts people to sit down when someone speaks at it. I've been wanting to make a "pastor" Sim, so I oculd play out his story and, even with custom content, I can't make my Sims sit down and listen to a speech. Kind of takes the church-y feel away when people are wandering around talking to each other during a sermon, dontcha know...

you do realize that it only got one EP and it hasn't even. You seem to be an RPG player. But other sim players want to be able to have legacies and build. Not be goal oriented

I have the Sims Medieval and the expansion pack installed in my laptop right now. I play them for a change of pace. Unlike some people, I did my homework before buying the game, so I *knew* it wasn't going to be The Sims 3 Medieval. And yes, it's pretty much an RPG game; nothing wrong with that. Even at that, I'm not limited to just playing out the story line...I *can* take the time to let my "hero" enjoy making friends and talking with people; I do quite a bit of meandering through the game. I thoroughly enjoy playing it.

But I agree with Faith; I'd respect your opinion a lot more if you had actually *played* the game and found it lacking; but your ignorance of it speaks volumes. You really should stop acting like an authority on something you know nothing about.

I totally disagree putting religion in the sim 3 (or in TS 4). For me, and probably for some others, religion is a "touchy" subject. I want to stay away as far as it could be from that.

However if EA read this thread and plan to appease the simmers who want religious thingy in their game, I hope they release it in the Store, not in a patch, stuff pack or an expansion pack.

I'm not interested in adding religion to the game. I just want some generic objects that allow certain interactions, the chief one being the aforementioned podium that attracts Sims to sit down on a bench to listen to a "speech"...also generic looking stained glass windows.

That's ok. What I mean is If you and some other simmers need these objects, EA can put them in the Store . I have no objection for it because I can choose to not put it in my game or stay away from it
But what the OP wants is to put religion in the game, putting religion in the game and putting religious objects in the Store are two different things.

I agree with the idea of adding generic objects that could be used with the players imagination to create a religious setting of their choice. Even objects that allowed interactions like "Recite Poetry" or perhaps public speaking could have a more defined animation which would attract people to listen.

I love holidays like Christmas & Halloween. Imagine seeing the entire town decorated in Christmas lights for a few Sim weeks! A lot of people don't like certain holidays though, so implementing realistic religions or events, are sadly too controversial most likely.

Items, creativity & imagination seem the way to go on this one I think.

its not about 'religion' in the game. its about diversity for sims. im not asking for EA to make an in-depth look at religion just have a more broad range of sims. i always think if there are people opposed and people for it then why not make it a choice? either on or off option.

i just would like abit more realistic games, the sims city has religion , i struggle to actually see any backlash

im not religious but i would of though people who are find it is a very big part of who they are and guides their lives. so when creating a world in the sims these people would want that part of them available

im am a tad confused by it all

I think it's not a matter of if people want it, it's more a matter of keeping a balance of happiness without anyone feeling excluded or offended.

Religion is at times a very serious commitment in peoples lives. If it wasn't represented correctly for them personally it could make a lot of people feel misrepresented in the game. I have faith & wouldn't mind religious items added to the store. As long as they are optional for people so there is a choice.

Another reason could be that some people don't want an ultra realistic Sims game. To them it's an escape from normal life & that can take away from the game for select people. Sims has always had a sort of unique charm that bases itself in realism but also has elements that aren't so realistic. Though Sims 3 is more serious in regards to its predecessors.

I do agree with you on having more options for our Sims. I can see how you think religion would be a way to diversify & make our Sims more special. I would love to have a little Chapel by the water for events & I don't personally have an issue with such constructions. I could look at Church architecture all day, so beautiful.

It's just a very delicate matter in real life which would be reflected when in game. I think like Jarsie mentioned, having objects you could use to create a religious atmosphere would work best.

I guess there could be a Llama deity!

i suppose a better word im looking for is culture, when it comes to religion im not really interested but i would like the store options to build houses of worship just to add a bit of realism to the town,

but yeah id like there to be different nationality options with sims.

so part of their genetic make up would be where they are from

so if i made an indian sim she would have certain traits from the culture and have things like the ability to cook dishes native to the country and pass these recipes onto other sims. same for british, american, chinese, french etc.

just seems like sometimes the sim world is like that world off the truman show where everything is just tooo perfect

Hehe I know what you mean, at times it can seem like the town of Stepford without a little madness now & then!

I guess there are characteristic traits that can be passed on with careers such as with a Fireman.

Perhaps the option to select a particular culinary dish as a traditional family recipe could be a way to work around it? So you can pick exactly what is special to a family you have made & it will be passed down through the family. A whole generation of secret grilled cheese recipes would be epic!

just thought of something funny!

as im British id like British sims to have a picture of the queen in their homes that they can salute hehe. everyone always things we love the royal family so id like the ability to play on funny things like that.

but overall id just love th be able to create indepth sims, choose their nationality, religion or lack of, traits. looks dress sense (and an ability to shop for different clothes)

MY DREAM game would actually be where the town you create could actually be in a country with traits of that country so i could create a town in England that would look like a town in England with English currency etc same with other countries. kinda like sim city meets sims, but it would take alot of researh on EA part to get it right

ahhhhh i can but dream (goinf waaaay off topic at this point)

The country I'm from has a lot of association with Britain, so the Queen & Royals are important here as well! Though I don't think everyone has a picture in their homes hehe. There is actually a cafe here dedicated to all things Royal, it's quite cute. Was on the news when Kate & Wills got married. But yes, now I'm totally sidetracking!

I guess creating more realistic worlds would be possible by designers of Create a World? It seems EA sometimes does draw influence like in World Adventures.

More options for Sims would be wonderful, gives them more soul. I guess EA just has to be careful about which realistic features they choose to put into the game.

Yes would be nice to have somethings to be able to give speech or poetry, anything that add to my Sims life and make each one unique!

I want my sims to worship me!! When my sims are having a bad day (embarrassed, unlucky, insulted, etc), I want them to look up at me and start praying. LOL. I also think having some atheist/undecided sims would be a hoot...like every once in a while when you give a command, they'll look up at you and slap their forehead a few times to get the "god" out of them and ignore the command. (but that would probably annoy some people)

Anyhow...I'm cool with a podium. That's what I used in my churches in TS2. I had a podium set up and the wedding arch and then sims could get married there or listen to a sermon. It functioned great and was all in my imagination.
