DxDiag. Also how much space do you have left on your Hard Disk ? Error 16 is usually a problem with the file. It either can't be overwritten or there's not enough space to do so.

Try save as if you have enough hard disk space.

Your computer is on the lower end and according to MTS the game does not run very well with your graphic card but that does not explain why it was working fine and now after the patch it doesn't.

Does it run any better if you are not connected to the Internet and did you get around to try a new game ?

Yeah for the past week my game has never looked better nor has it ran better. If turn down the graphics option in game the shadows get all blocky. But I can try it again now that I have all the windows updates. I will test it while logged out while I am at it.

I tried downloading the 1.34.27 update, but when it nearly finishes I receive a message that says ERROR.Invalid content or file found. How do I correct this so I can use the update?

OKay i am getting pretty desperate here, right after recieving a new computer about a month ago and installing all my sims again everything worked fine up until recent with the error 12 message coming up constant so i decided to unistall and reinstalling after all my computer had loads of memory space. I then went to play again and it would crash after about ten minutes after searching the web for a good hour and trying everything nothing worked i put it down to custom content.

Again i unistalled, reinstalled worked fine no custom content or anything then i decided to install some aswell just the basic stuff, katy perry stuff ect and trusted websites. It worked fine then began freezing again.I ran the game without custom content it then came up with error 16 when saving again

I noticed it only started breaking when i updated it to patch 1.34
Help please!!!!!

After installing the 1.34 patch through the launcher, my game suddenly says my disc isn't valid. http://i47.tinypic.com/3038cnr.png

My game has been running perfectly fine up until now, so I'm confused. Got an idea as to how to fix this?

Edit: I have tried running the game without CC but the message remains the same.

Ok this is what I did. I logged out so I was no longer connected to The Sims 3 site went back into my game played 3 sim days and during that time I only had 1 freeze on week 3 day 3 Tues at 9:17 p.m. while she was using the toilet. It lasted approximately 45 seconds real time and then everything went back to normal. I was also able to save the game normally. Weird... Side note I have had 0 cheats on today if that makes any difference. Oh and just in case you need to know all of my games are digital downloads from Origin.

So do I just delete the .bad file?

My game still won't update to 1.34 and still receiving invalid file found message before ir completly finshes updating. I already removed the custom content.

@xXDopeyXx: Use Save as instead of save for Error 16.

@SkyeNote: Do you just have the base game ? Is your disk clean ? Did you install anything else besides the patch onto your Computer ? Try restarting the Computer, maybe that helps

Ok deleted. So I should probably just play/build while logged out then... I do realize I am going to have to get a more compatible video card by the next EP, do you happen to know which one would work best with my computer running on a 320 watt power supply and all the EP SP minus the sweet treats or do you think I am going to have to upgrade the power supply yet again also?

Not my field of expertise. Would make your own thread for the real techie techie people on this forum.
