That's not from the career, that's due to a certain athletic level

In the Culinary career track you sometimes bring home food of very good quality.
(It has happened to me at least)

Law Enforcement sims (mine at least) also got a pager to be called in for "extra" work now and then... wish I could remember what level he got it at but can't...

you do not need to be in this career to train the other sims.
This option will be out when ur Athletic level reaches certain.[I forgot when]

random effects such as giving better mood to sims around that object, faster effects from that object so on.

Haven't gone through all 24 pages of this post but wanted to make sure the author track has been covered. It is the best way to make a lot of money - I had a sim making almost $55,000 a WEEK in royalties as an author. They start out slow, but once they hit those skill challenges and are able to write romances, they can churn them out. Plus they work from home so can raise kids etc.

In polilitics, you'll occasionally get the oppertunity to take $50 out of the campaign fund.
And also, once a sim becomes mayor, they receive a black limo.
