Just a few pics from my sim and some of the others I spied here and there. I had to show you guys Pary at the metal dump she was mesmerized by the metal simbot statue, and so I went closer, it looks like she is thinking she can't believe her eyes. hehehe

Wow the forum is strange right now. One minute I'm logged in, next I'm not and Liam and I have to stop meeting like this...my husband is starting to get suspicious.

I played a while in the first save I reported on. Then I started a second save with a different character and the houses were filled up right away with no delay. So far in both save games I've had bouncers appear where I needed them.

I'm currently having my second sim in the Abandoned Car and notice there is no sound coming from the wall speakers. I tried turning them up, no luck. I tried skipping a track, no luck. Anybody else notice this or is this something on my end of it?

Save version filled right up with many families within 3 sim days. In that version Antonia Halstead got drafted to the nectar register so in save 2, I'm letting the game run longer and will visit all the venues before I put custom families in.

One thing I've been noticing in all my worlds is almost all of my female bartenders are very overweight while the men are medium to thin build. I wonder why.

Well count me a slowbee for pattern recognition but I only noticed tonight that the fountain in one of the park domes is shaped like a fish. Duh! Derp. Well I must say it was mighty clever to build it like that. I'm constantly blown away by the creativity I'm encountering at every turn. So many little surprises.

I'll check out the sinky-dinkys that WR saw. If sinking becomes a major problem for the rabbit holes is there a way to recolor them kind of grayish if you need to put them above ground? I hope it doesn't come to having to put everything above ground because it's so cool how RF built so many underground access ways and arranged everything. So far I haven't encountered any problems from sinking.

One other thing I noticed when my test sim #1 went to the Nectary, well first off he sampled nectar twice. I got him to clean up after himself but he took the debris all the way upstairs to the bathroom sink. It might help to put a sink in one of the counters there. However...I did notice he kept pacing awhile before setting the platters of nectar down on the counters. There was plenty of counter space so I don't know what caused him to pace like that. I might go in and tweak that section to see if it's decor that caused the pacing and test to see if a sink would be beneficial. Of course it's not necessary to clean up after themselves but I noticed if a sim tastes a lot of nectar there the trays are going to pile up.

RFlong, sorry you are sick. I hope you get over it soon. There's a virus going around where we live that seems to just hang on. Hubby, kid, I, in-laws and hubby's coworkers all have it. It's awful. It sets in as a semi-chronic sinus infection. I am considering asking my doc for antibiotics to get rid of it. I hate doing that because antibiotics give me more problems than they fix, sometimes. They didn't seem to do my daughter any good other than clear up her ear infection. Blah.

Nice slideshow, WR. I enjoyed it.

I've put in more play...er...testing time I'm not having any routing problems, nor am I experiencing any lag. Everything is running smoothly so far. I love the detail that you put into a world. Fog emitting from grates near subway stations was such a creative idea, to mention just one.

BTW, I also had all sims in place from the minute I entered the world. I can't imagine why it was different for SS86.

Did you build the Alpha One club or was that Pary's build? Either way, my compliments to the designer. That's a pretty spectacular build, imho. The Clucky Chicken is no slouch either. Actually, I've thoroughly enjoyed all the clubs I've been to.

I'll continue testing in the morning. I'm going to make it an early night because I'm still tired from too many late nights while I was gone. So far, though, it looks like the stuttering you ran into is your computer and not the world. I can't believe the number of problems you've had with it since it is so newly purchased. That's got to be tremendously frustrating.

ETA - I do hope you get to feeling better.

I haven't seen WR's slide show yet--saving that for morning coffee time!

Anyone else not able to place a house on lot 653 Perimeter Road? That would be the lot next to the Simbot House. It looks fine. I can't understand why I can't place a clone of any of the houses from that street onto that lot. I tried a clone of the Vampire House, the Simbot House and the Reaper House. The only thing changed in the clones are the beds and I may have upgraded a toilet in one of the houses, can't remember. Odd.

Oh man I have to be up at 6 a.M. What am I still doing up? LOL--I tried playing earlier and ended up reading a book to my kid. What's a mother to do.

Oh forgot to mention no stuttering. My daughter liked the pigeons in the dome park. And the delay of the families coming into the world was only the first time I played the world. When I started again to make a different version that didn't have one of my sim's manning the Nectary register, everything came up immediately like you all have reported. Not sure what caused that first delay at all.

Unfortunately in Save Game 2, poor Pary is stuck at the nectary register and she really wants to go to the movies, judging by the thought bubble that kept popping up over her head. Poor Pary.

Oh nevermind--I realize the icon for that lot is a house. Even though there's no house there, apparently it's registering as a lot that is built on. I can't see anything placed on it but it's late and my eyes aren't the best. I'll check it out again tomorrow.

EDIT: One more observation before I go to bed. I mean it this time, I shut off the game...lol...not ALT Tab out this time.

I went back to Save Game 1--for ease of reference it's Zander--he was my test sim in my first Save Game. In Zander's save, I could place houses any place I please. The lots have little rectangle icons and I did indeed place houses where in Save Game 2--Diana's Save, I can't place houses on at least TWO lots now. One was the 653 Perimeter Road and the other is ...drat...forgot the address--it's on the long road that terminates in a large empty lot that has a subway entrance on it. It's about three lots up from that lot. I'll get the address tomorrow.

Okay so why can I place houses on lots in one Save Game but not in the second one? What went wrong, what changed the lots to show house icons on them and make me unable to place houses on these untouched lots?

Is this an EA thing? A world thing? A SummerSong's wonky computer thing? Goodness it's mind boggling I have to test out TWO saved games. Now I'm going to go back to Zander Save Game 1 to see if the speakers in the club work there.

Tomorrow I'll try a THIRD save game to see if the town map opens up with the lots designated properly.

I'm sorry if the stuff I'm reporting is known and discussed already. I try to keep up with the discussions but as you all know it's been stressful here and I've got so much crowding my head I'm bound to forget or miss something.

Summersong, when you see an empty lot with a house on it, that usually means you need to build on the lot because something is on it - like a spawner of the beautiful vista buff. What you do is bulldoze it once and that will get rid of the spawner, then you can place a house.

I didn't build anything as I try to play without building until I'm sure there are no problems anywhere, that way if I build something and get a problem, then I know it's my build. So I wait until I give the world a big OK. Then I make a save as and build one thing. Check every where. Add some thing else. Check every where, etc.

What I do when I see one of the regular sims at a register is go play theri house for just long enough to have them quit that job and then get them a job suited to their wish. Eventually the game will provide sims for those jobs.

Edit to add: that wall I saw that had sunk is just looking into to the hospital where you can see the lobby. I don't see thing s like that in any of the other underground buildings, at least not so far.

Hey Florida Cowboy, I got it and accepted. Thank you for the RECs. Most of that stuff in my studio is just builds I made for other simmers worlds or Sims I use for testing worlds that I have specific skills built up in them or they do a lot of testing things on their own. For who knows what reason some Sims seem born smarter than others so when you are playing a game with Sims like that it pays to save them for use if you test worlds a lot like I do.

Why am I not surprised Pary sim is working in a nectary?
I suppose I should be thankful she's not a mixologist. No one would ever get served, she would be so busy "sampling"

Do you know what a wide screen monitor looks like covered in tea Pary? I didn't until now. Too funny!!!!

Well in my game you are hanging out at the Moon's Metal (junk) yard, totally mesmerized by a junk simbot statue. I had to take a picture of it. The look on your sims face also cracked me up.

See if it had been my game I would have ran over to your house and had gotten you a different job. Beside the moon would probably have a big limit on the amount of grapes it could produce - all that sampling might make the Nectary nectarless. hehehe

Hi,

Nice pictures, WR.
I am glad no one is upset about their Sims being in the World. I change clothes and two hairs styles that I remember.

~Oh, the Nectary Subway didn't sink of it's own accord- well, it did when I placed it from game to a new edited map-but I re-leveled it and must have missed the subway and that is why it is lower then the rest of the building.
It was my own mistake on testing.

~The wall of the Hospital is the back lot wall. I kept the basement smaller but didn't notice the wall showed. Since you said it wasn't causing a problem I left it.

~I checked out the picnic tables and moved the light away. I don't know why it would do that.

~I went in the club and checked the speakers. They were set to Custom. It should be playing~I end up playing with the Music off because I build so much it starts getting on my nerves. I just leave it off.
I set it to ... Latin? I think. Something different I think.
I'll turn my music on and see if it plays this time.

~Changed the lot names. Will check it out today for this version..

~It is Pary's Club. It's cool, right?

~The occupied lots- There are a few spawners near a few of the lots over there and I moved them one more square away (I checked all spawners and moved them) but none were actually touching the lots. They were close yet the ring indicators were not over the lot line. So, maybe I need to remember 3 squares away from the lots next time.

~I gave Pary a better job this time. I think it's better.
I didn't populate the world's NPCs. I'm not that creative. No big stories or dramas in the world. Just some Sims to get the world going- and some interesting Sims who helped me- I didn't for Envie's Sim this time.

Thanks so much everyone.

My computer crashed on it's own last night while in EIG but it's fine then, CAW saves before entering.
I keep finding reasons to put it off but I'll be reformatting my computer after this world is done. *fingers crossed*

I'm surprised she hasn't already drunk the place dry.

Actually one the topic of custom music from speakers.. does that actually work for anyone here? It seems to not work for most people, & never has for me, and I like my own music. I wish they would fix it.
