Sure thing ^.^
I am accepting.
Just let me know:
The class(es) you are applying for
What editing program you are using and then I can get you both started.
I'll be heading to work this morning, so it'll be the evening when I can check back in. Roughly 12 hours from this post.

Hi, I just very recently downloaded Gimp and have been trying to figure it all out. Honestly, I don't even know where to start when it comes to editing my sims' modeling pics with it. I did check out a few tutorials on how to cut your sim out for backgrounding, but that's about it.
My number one thing I'd like to figure out is...well it's kinda hard to explain. IF you have the time and only IF you wouldn't mind, I would ask you take a look at the Staged contest I'm participating in. There are 2 photos who entered that really pop! The one w/ the Indian Food restuaunt idea and the one w/ the mini golf idea. Then if you look at mine (The fishing one), you'll see the trainwreck job I did w/ trying to make mine "pop". I would love to know where I go wrong and what they do to make their pics look so proffessional and glossy looking. (ONLY IF you don't mind and have the time) Reguardless of whether or not you can manage to check that out, I am extremely interested in this school and you can absolutely count me in

@Rayshizzie/Pandagirl - Both of your lessons are up. Since you are both starting at the same time, I'm giving you both the same lesson to start off. Just look under editing on the first page.
Pandagirl - All of the classes for each category are empty, so no worries. For the practice modelling comp. It was for modelling that you wanted to practice or judging? Rayshizzie, you are welcome to join if you'd like as it's a great way to get tips from a comp perspective.
Rayshizzie - I can take a look at the pics and give you some feedback. That's no problem at all.
Vallex - Aww, sorry Vallex. I deleted all the assignments since I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone. The new My Pages are horrible for leaving messages. And naww worries

The Indian Restaurant - What's nice about this picture is that with an Indian theme you want color and the use of patterns. You also want to stay true to a culture. When you think Indian, you think color, and lavish with beautiful decorations. The reflective floor really helps make it pop as does the background. It's there, but it doesn't take away from the restaurant.
The mini golf is essential the same thing. You want it to look like a mini golf obstacle course and showtime offers a lot of great decor to be used from the selection of props that it has.
A big thing with both of these is that there's a nice medium of clutter that doesn't draw away from the model but it's also not leaving gaps in the picture. It can be a bit difficult to find that medium. But if you have a big picture and your model's in the corner and then you have unneeded space, it's probably better to crop the picture and get rid of the unneeded space.
For yours - The tree and flowers are smudged which lowers the quality. The grass, I've never been a fan of. Perhaps try some grass brushes. I have a list of brushes I use on Unbound that I find very useful. The lighting needs a bit more contrasting. For this, I try and do what I can in game with the buydebug lights. They become invisible when you are in play mode. I also use filters to help enhance the photo. Though you need to be careful as it can really pixelate the photo.
We'll go over all of this through the lessons.

Thank so much for taking the time! With my pic I had a problem with enhancements which like you said, made the tree look way to pixelated and since I had no idea what to do with it, I just smudged it lol. And I love the mirror effect in the indian resturaunt photo, is this something that can be done w/ Gimp?
As for the first assignment, I'll be working on it tomorrow, and I have a tutorial I found on youtube I can use as a guide. Thanks for doing this, I'm excited to learn more...I definately need help and am more than happy to receive any kind of constructive critisism, so you don't ever have to worry about being to critical or harsh with me

It's no problem. I'm here to help ^.^ The reflective floors are actually a CC item, found at MTS I do believe. So if you are comfortable downloading CC, even if it's just for a comp photo, it's worth it based on how much more opens up content wise.
And that's great. When I hear from Pandagirl, I'll get that started up for you both as well.

Your Name:
Your Model's Name:
Bio (for your model):
Head and body shot of your model on a white or transparent background.
The post below will focus on assignments and scores.
Alrighty, we'll have a small little mini comp then. I'll get something set up for you both.
So since we'll be treating it like a mini comp please fill out the form above. Be as creative as you want to be and I'll work on your first assignment. I'll post when it's ready.
