Build-n-Share Challenge #157-158 • Fallout Shelter Intermediate Results

So sorry for how late these are everyone. On a good note though, the craftsman results are right behind these.

ashley1693-Interesting shelter you built. There's quite a bit of traps in there to get through. I like the nice soothing blue color on the walls and the fact you got a fireplace in the shelter itself. Very nice.

Suggestions-I would have liked to see more things for an adult to do if they are forced into a shelter for a long time period. More art on the walls would have also made a nice distraction for a build like this.

AnniePKS-I really liked the use of color and patterns. It's enough to make being stuck in a shelter not too depressing, while the patterns weren't enough to make you crazy. Good balance. You managed to get a lot in there for Charlie to do. Good job.

Suggestions-You may want to try using a site like Colourlovers.com to create palettes for your builds, so they flow a bit better. Your colors were good, but they are quite a change from one room to the next.

Amby316-This is a fun shelter. I love that it opened up into a pool area. The brick walls were a nice touch and I liked that you used patters and art to brighten it all up.

Suggestions-I think my only suggestion would be to maybe seperate the kitchen from games, but that's only a personal preference.

Shadowinsims-Wow, I loved the modern touches here and your use of objects. The clutter was a great addition, the accent wall behind the tv was a nice touch, and I loved what you did with the aquarium. Really well done.

Suggestion-I would have liked to see more pictures of the game room and nectary, I usually try to aim for 3 per room so it covers the different angles.

DrygonBlade-As always I am amazed by what you managed to do. The house above ground had quite a few details to it and your basement levels wow'd me. I love how you had the dive wells as an excape exit/entrance. What a fantastic idea. The décor was lovely and I like the layout of the levels.

Suggestions-I think all I can say is that runners in the halls would have been a nice touch and made it feel a bit homier.

***And Pandora did not get you disqualified.

Tiferoo11-Very nice house above ground. I like the idea of the steel box, since that's what most shelters would basically be. The courtyard was lovely and I enjoyed your wall art choices. I can safely say this is one steel box I wouldn't mind living in. Good job.

Suggestion-For you I would also suggest more pics. I would have loved to see some more angles.

And the winners....

2nd place-I couldn't choose between Tiferoo11 and shadowinsims

1st place-DrygonBlade

Build-n-Share Challenge #159-160 • Big Budget Craftsman Intermediate Results

ashley1693-You did a good job on your interior and making it a nice, cozy home. You managed to get everything in that a new family would need.

Suggestions-Landscaping, while you put play items outside you didn't dress up the porch or the front and side yards. I would have loved to see a beautiful garden around this home, surrounding it by nature.

aml1855-I really like your siding choice. The landscaping fit the home really well. I liked the inside layout you chose. The room with the fireplace was great with the moo on that couch. Really well done.

Suggestions-More pics. I would have liked to see more pics from outside at various angles.

AnniePKS-I love the way you used wood on the walls in every room. You really stayed true to the craftsman style. The yard was nicely done and you made it fit in well with the lot you choose. The nursery was adorable and the kitchen was so cheery! I loved the little desk nook, a great place to surf the net for recipes. Good job on figuring out what to do with that little extra closet.

Suggestions-I think the only thing I would have done is dressed up around that driveway more. Maybe some floor lights with shrubs over them, but depending on budget that's not always possible.

Amby316-The first entry I've seen that has the kitchen right in the middle of the home. You did a great job on the layout of the rooms. I like the lighter wood on the outside siding, it contrasted nicely with the bricks. Really nice job on the landscaping as well.

Suggestions-I would have also seen if you had the extra money in the budget to dress up the front porch a bit.

Shadowinsims-An all white craftsman! I love it. Your landscaping really suites it. I love the entire look and the placement of all the objects. The pool area is fantastic and I like that you used the other side of the house for a play area. Using the garage as a fitness/family room was a great idea.

Suggestions-The only problem is that you replaced the garage doors, which would have been fine...but you didn't take up the same number of spaces with doors. You would have needed 4 of the double doors to equal garage doors.

And the winner is....

Woo! My first time placing! \o/ And on my favorite challenge of all that I have participated in thus far! This made my day.

I replaced them because someone posted that they needed to be replaced since they were a Pets item. I can't believe I missed that though. I was being so careful to make sure all the windows took up the same amount of space and then I fail to do the same for the garage doors. *facepalm*

All in all though, if the problems with my entries are an accidental oversight and that I need to take more pics of certain rooms, I say bravo for me. I've come a long way from when I first started doing these challenges.

Amby, I'm so glad you're having fun with the challenges. You're doing very well, just keep at it. I can't wait to see more from you.

shadowinsims, you're right about the garage doors...to replace them with regular doors was a great idea and your builds/decor are great. You all are making judging very tough and that was really all I could offer for suggestions. Obviously everyone will decorated to his/her own taste, so there's a few things that I don't comment on because of personal style...plus I do believe that the more pics the better.

Congrats Annie! It was well deserved.

Build-n-Share Challenge #157-158 • Fallout Shelter Advance Results

Sorry for the lateness of the results. I got a little behind with life.
All of the entries were really great and unique!

mgolden80--I really liked the underground bunker especially the front entrance garden. Very imaginative using the fountains as the water filtration devices. I really like it that you included a lot of entertainment opportunities for the inhabitants! The color scheme was a bit bright for an underground bunker in my opinion. I know it was to simulate an actual environment but maybe a little toned down would have worked as well. One big question, "Why the television?" I know it was for entertainment but if he loses feed it would sort of be redundant.
Optional Challenge: I loved his proposal!

ZYIsSims-- I loved your use of a varied mix of materials in building. An inspiring build. I love how you seperated the work/living areas. I think it appropriate that you added a gym and a nursery. Great idea! Adding the animals was a nice touch too. My biggest problem was that some of your patterns clashed in my opinion. The large fleur and the wooden floor pattern seemed to work against each other in the one room.
Optional Challenge: Nicely created family!

Lionpaws-- I liked the above ground shelter it looked like a fortress. I loved that it had the different zones for entrance. I liked the library area a great deal. Great entertainment spaces. I am glad you split the basement between levels. I though you had a good mix of fabrics and patterns. In my opinion I thought you might break up the green in the interior a bit more. It was kind of too tonal.
Optional Challenge: Very nice Charlie.

JoubertCG-- I like that you used an elevatior to access the bunker. Nice use of some bright colors. I would have liked to seen a few more entertainment areas and possibilities. I liked that you created a storage room for his foodstuffs and other objects. That was a unique touch.
Optional Challenge: Very unique Charlie but would have liked to have seen him in a few more pics.

Green_Girly100-- Creative entrance in the shelter above ground. I likjed the secret door entrance and thought it was unique. I loved the 50-60's inspired decor but I would have liked to seen it carried throughout the bunker. It was very nice. Saying that, the master suite and ensuite was a nice surprise. The house underground was a nice home.
Optional Challenge: Nice take on Charlie!

Greenowl77-- I like the above ground shelter. The living room was a nice take and very rustic. The paneling and wood was very nice but maybe some other colors or materials could have broken up the monotony of the color and material. I like the differenation of the different area of the bunker. Very nice lot!
Optional Challenge: Charlie was very cool!

Okay I had a very hard time picking a winner because all the entries were great!

Winners: Lionpaws and ZYIsSims

Optional Challenge Winner: Mgolden80

Lol, thanks for the feedback Scorpio! As for the tv, I figured with the energy supply if he looses feed...it's at least good for the video games. Thanks for the optional challenge win. And big congrats to Lionpaws and ZYIsSims
