omg that is amazing. Can you make yachts then on the Sims 3. Or did you have to trick sims 3 into letting you do it. iykwiml lol

That looks so awesome!
I'm glad the water looks so much more realistic in The Sims 3.

This place about to blow.

as NicMacc says "you must have the patience of a saint to pull that off! absolutly incredible so far! "

it is incredibly difficult to make yachts on Sims 3, more so then Sims 2 since we are limited to 5 floor levels.

I use every trick in the book to create the illusion, including re-using the same floor to create multiple levels, curving the sides to give more depths to a single floor. the problem has been everytime I make a change to the lower levels using constrainfloorelevation, all the upper floors changes.

I always make the changes incrementally, always using ctrl-z to back out and multiple saves; just in case I totally ruin it. I never save the current lot until I'm sure that all floors are fine.

It has been truly a test of my patience...

Thanks for viewing, the encouragement and comments...

Oh this is very nice!! It's been a long time since I've seen such a good yacht built on the Sims!

*fingers crossed* for it to get a feature after being uploaded (I think it will deserve one at least!).

Shame that we can't build docks directly onto sea... this would look even better if that was possible...

Wow. Just wow. Fair play for that patience. It's going to be a masterpiece.

Incidentally, how do you get the outer frames at that angle? I haven't seen any options like that in the Build Mode.

constrainfloorelevation false cheat... Turn it on and by modifying the ground below any part of a lot with a floor, on any level, you can achieve that effect. Really takes a lot of patience, though!

That sounds really complicated, but I've bookmarked this, and I'll build up the courage to try it myself. When you're finished with the yacht, it would be really cool if you made a tutorial or something to show off some of your skills!

thanks for the encouragement

During my construction I took some preliminary pictures for a future tutorial post. However right about the middle, due to my passion firing on all pistons I forgot to take pictures

However I'll endeavor to post up a tutorial on the basic foundation on ship construction.

Freaking awesome!

I wouldn't have the patience (or knowledge) to make anything that extravagant, but imagine how awesome that would look on the ocean, as a beach lot...

I'll definitely download it when it's ready!
