The normal version contains built lots, while the blank version is, literally, a blank version with no lots built on.

I still need to test the CC-free versions but they should at least help to improve the freezing.

Perhaps to many trees and fog emitter is the cause for the freezing. Tho atm I have some problems getting the normal CC-Free world to show up in my game lol.

Nvm that, I fixed the problem, just me being stupid, you can't have the blank version and the normal version installed at the same time lol.

However I think I know the source for the lag (in the normal CC-free version), you have placed many trees, and trees are a lag magnet especially on low graphic/memory computers. If you thin a little out in them some of the lag would improve.
Also skyscrapers tend to attract lags, but that might just be my computer that doesn't like them, because I seems to lag a little in Bridgeport. So they might be a factor for the lag as well.

For the freeze, are you having any emitter that is overlapping each other to many times or just have loads of them? I think mostly about the fog emitter in the city hall that you mention, it might be a reason, not saying it is.
Or if a road is broken, that might cause issues as well.

In my game the world seems to work fine, but I did not play any sims, I only looked around and so far no problems, I could move around smoothly. However saving the world took a bit of time than what it usually does, could be because of all the buildings, trees, or cuz its the first time I save. Still gonna test that out.

All in all I must say you have done an amazing job on this city, and I actually hate skyscrapers XD you have balanced it good. Having a area with houses for living only while the jobs, some few apartments and such are away from the houses, and placing the city and the small town on island gives it all an awesome view, and it got a beach! lol.

Keep the good work up!

Thanks.

I have a question for you though- have you noticed any CC, particularly in the starter homes? Sims3PackCleaner told me it had all been removed but I'm not so sure. Could you check please?

I'm thinking of releasing an update for this in the future, possibly getting rid of some of the many trees. The only emitters I used were some at the City Hall and some in Central Park, for the pigeons. I couldn't find any road issues so I think the problem is either too many trees or the CC.

I will test the houses and the rest for CC, but you can see if you got CC in your game via the launcher I believe, but I will check tho.

The launcher has not picked up any CC from the normal CC-free world, however, when I installed the Blank CC-Free version I got quite some CC in >.< had to remove it, but even removing it didn't seem to break the game (again didn't play a sims) Also I do not have any stuff packs and it runs fine so far.

Do you have spawners in your world?

I will check the CC tomorrow, but I played sims today and was in the build/buy mode and I didn't see anything that wasn't there before, so I think you got it, but I will check

P.S your links for the normal CC-free, and the blank CC-free world are missing on your front page. I had to delete your wold from the launcher as I was having some complications, but NOT due to your world I found out, I had downloaded some houses that made the issue. But if you want me to test teh CC I would like to have a link to the normal CC-Free world so I can test it

Hello!

I manage to find the world again, you hadn't remove it from the mediafile so I I was able to located it via the Historic.

Alright so I looked at ALL the houses on the little island (I did skip some houses as they looked like the rest, I image you just copy and pasted the same house from your house-bin)
And I came across some things.

First suspicious CC:
In Modest Family Abode price 140.606 in the bedroom with the double bed I found a Magic Vampire Gnome I have NEVER seen that kind before but I don't have any experience with gnomes or vampires, so I don't know if this is able to be obtained in the game.
Also at the front door you have a lot of gnomes I have not seen either, such as Napoleon and a Chinese kung fu dude. Also this house twin (the house beside it or above it depending which angle you look at) has the same gnome at the front door. But this house is the ONLY one where I found that vampire one. I would remove these gnomes o.O

Second suspicious CC:

Grand Beach House price 387,713.
I found a Television which I have never seen before nor do I have it. Its called Super-Stretch Television Experience. It is located in the livingroom and in one of the bedrooms above.

Third, not CC tho:

Carroll Shack outside it there is a tomb, saying "Remains" not sure its there on purpose.

4th, not CC:
5 Start Celebrity Mansion.
It takes some time for the computer to Edit Town from there, it might just be because the lot is so big. Also I like the pretended tennis course XD Why can't sims play tennis ?

5th, suspicious CC:

I took a look in the city and saw the Station and Sunset Pavillion. I have not seen those kinds before, but I only really play in Sunset Valley and haven't paid close attention to the other EA made worlds, so this might not be any CC.

6th, not CC:
You got two Plubob movie studio in your city right next to each other, not sure this was intentionally.

Other things:

You have a lot of houses that looks the same, same decorations same look, but players can just remove those if they wish.

Also on one lot you have a car in the yard, with no option to drive it out, spite I know that sims can just put the car in their pockets I still though it was odd to place a car in the yard

You like gnomes eh? Almost every house had a gnome or two XD

Also it looks like you have placed some objects at places they are not able to be placed using the moveobjects cheat. This MIGHT be a reason for the freezes if a sim active household or not are trying to access the item/s and then can't since it wasn't meant to be able to be there in the first place, so you might want to consider to either change those objects you did that too (unless you did it to every single one) or start over and not use moveobjects. I am not saying this is the reason tho, but it might be.

It seems like you have used some cheats, personally I would advice not to use cheats when creating a world as that might start to conflict with stuff in the world, but I have never created a world but I know that using cheats can cause issues and/or conflicts with some element in the game.

There is nameless house in the house island that does not show correctly (at least not for me) It appears completely white on a distance but if you go in to build on the house it will show correctly again. In Edit Town mode it looks all white and misplaced.

Also for each house I entered it took some time for my computer to show the items in the house, at first everything are just white squares. This is normal tho, some computer are a bit slow to animate the items in a house if the house is big, in my case it took way longer than normal, but I suspect that is due to your world being big with many tress

But else I like the world, tho I am planning on remove the houses and place my own, the only part I do not want to change is the city area, to me that is fine
I just don't like the houses.

I took some screenshots of your world

The bridge and some of the city at night taken from the house island.

Taken during the day.

Some of the houses with the city in the background at night.

Keep up the good work and I hope you will make an update with less trees and with removed CC (if it is CC ofc lol)

Let me know if you need any further help.

Wow, that's a long post, it must have taken you ages.

I do really appreciate it though.

CC 1:
The Vampire gnome came with Late Night and is not CC; I obtained all the gnomes through the buydebug cheat.

CC 2:
This TV is a reward for being a celebrity and again, I got it from buydebug.

Third:
That's... odd. I'm not sure about that. Is it an object and if so what does it look like?

Fourth:
Not too sure about this either but I think it could be due to the size of the lot.

CC 5:
I do not think these are CC, are they both giant dome-like objects? If so I found them in the Community Objects section of Build Mode.

6th:
Yes, this was intentional as I wanted the city to have an air of celebrity about it so decided to place to. And partly to take up space.

Other things:
Building loads and loads of unique houses isn't my strong point. I tried to make most of the houses different, but in some places I wanted to maintain a certain look and I wasn't sure what to do with certain houses in terms of ideas.

I think I know the lot you mean.. is it a wide-ish beige coloured house with steps leading up to it? I just put the car in the yard for it to look nice.

Ah, I wanted to create a bit of mystery and mischief with the gnomes.

That's strange about moveobjects, but you're right, it could be a cause. Next time I work on the update I will look into this.

I think I know the house you mean... I'll upload a pic of the one I think it is, because I noticed a similar problem too.

Yes, quite a lot of trees.

Yay screenshots. But yes, there are a lot of trees there. I thought about that before finishing the world but I had trouble unclustering, although I would like to delete some on that side

Lag update!

Yesterday, for reasons unrelated to Metrotopia, I decided to remove my CC.
Now, playing the world again, I haven't noticed any lag so it seems to me that the CC was the cause.

I will now aim to release a version that is truly free of CC as I wasn't so sure of the two 'CC-free versions' I released previously.

Oh I see, well the vampire one just creeped me out

CC 2:
This TV is a reward for being a celebrity and again, I got it from buydebug.

Oh didn't know that was possible I usually disable celebrities

Third:
That's... odd. I'm not sure about that. Is it an object and if so what does it look like?

It looked just like a sim grave stone when they die, just this one had no name on it, it just said "Remains"

Fourth:

Most likely

CC 5:
I do not think these are CC, are they both giant dome-like objects? If so I found them in the Community Objects section of Build Mode.

Yes that is them and I see, well not paying much attention to the other worlds so meh

Oh I see, hehe.

As long as you keep the color from the outside of the houses you should get the desired look, but else re-make some of the houses aka move some walls, put different stuff in and so on.

That's strange about moveobjects, but you're right, it could be a cause. Next time I work on the update I will look into this.

How often to you work on an update lol?

Yes, quite a lot of trees.

Lag magnet

Yes that was the house the exact same. Perhaps remove the house?

That sounds good, bu remove the CC? In your world or just in general?

And it took some time yes but I do not mind, I really like this world and would love it close to bug free if not completely bug free

I've only done a tiny amount of work on the update but I have a few plans to make it better and more playable than the original version.

I think I know how I'm going to fix that issue with the white house so that'll be fixed in the update.

By remove the CC, I mean from the world. I think I know how to do it properly this time. It's the CC that caused all the freezing.

So the trees and CC was the reason for lag and freezes?

And great! Can't wait to download the updated version. Already got my sims ready

It was mainly the CC, but I think the trees might have caused some too.

Wow you must be keen I think the update might be a while though, I might wait until I have Pets.
