1.4 The Lavoir Legacy: Rut vs. Routine


For the past few days, things have been pretty normal for Lexie…



Creepy pants wetter shows up every day too



…and finally

You see readers, despite the fact that she has failed romancing him on several occasions, Lexie and Barry have become really good friends.



Lexie has also gotten used to Barry’s roommates, Jun Xu and Ace Wilde.




Yes, and it was on the day of that promotion that Lexie’s routine changed drastically. It started with Lexie being invited to a party a Barry’s house.


When she got there everyone was in swim wear, which is odd because Barry doesn’t have a pool. (Fun fact: The woman Lexie is taking a picture of is Emmy Starr, aka creepy peeing guy’s girlfriend.)


Apparently Barry likes to throw lots of random parties to work on his mixology skill, which I should have worked out earlier as his name is Barry Tenderlove. Anyway, Lexie had a go at mixology to try and win Barry over by common interest, but they just ended up getting really drunk.


And the next thing I knew, this was happening.


The next morning Lexie was joyous.

I hear bells.

No, I hear actual tinkling bells!

1.5 The Lavoir Legacy: Unexpecting


Hello and welcome to the Lavoir Legacy, where we have received some unexpected news…

My finger slipped…

Since when do you have a car?

No, like you could afford it. I’m selling this right away.

Fine then, just keep doing your makeovers.


Where are you going? You’re on the clock you know.

I was just going to tell you the oven’s still on.



Yeah, if your house burnt down where would you raise the baby?




I hate to say I told you so...

Poor guy, he’s got no idea…


When she told him she was pregnant, he was really happy.

You did tell him he was the father right?



Lexie tried to kiss him, but he pulled away.



I agree honey, Barry is trash!



Poor kid, want to watch some TV?


She did, and that didn’t surprise me. What did surprise me though was that she turned on, not the romance channel, but kids TV!






So off to the library we went, I was genuinely surprised at Lexie’s commitment to parenting.


She even went out of her way to talk to this kid.

I take it back, this child is screwed.



Lexie, you’re scaring people.


When did you get so mushy?



And while she was trying this disgusting combination, who should I see but Barry ‘baby-abandoner’ Tenderlove.


I brought out Lexie ready to give him a good talking to, but he seemed so excited about her baby bump.



And it seems, now that the initial shock has worn off, he’s willing to kiss her and everything.



And with the extra money he brought to the house hold…


They had enough to move to a more family friendly home!


*I also discovered Barry wishes to marry Lexie, but sssh, it’s a surprise* and don’t ask me why he changed his hair back, I like his new ‘do.


Awww, look at them finally at peace.


Of course, that didn’t last long.

A few hours later Lexie came out with a beautiful Baby girl named Shay, who is artistic and excitable.


And Barry followed with her twin sister Grace, who is absent-minded and insane.

1.6 The Lavoir Legacy: Wild 1st birthday


Welcome back to the Lavoir legacy where Lexie is… counting something?

Okay then, I’ll make it easy for you. THERES TWO!

At least Barry is around now.


Even if he is sleeping on the couch.

Don’t worry, he’s new, he’ll get used to legacy life soon enough.



Okay, I get it, the baby stage sucks! Time for a birthday party.

I meant the babies…







That there is Olive Kipling, Barry’s ex.



This party is getting way out of hand.

Well get her out of there, her cake is ready.


Oh Shay! What have they done to you?! Never fear, this is what makeovers are for!


That’s better. I can’t decide who she looks more like, but she sure is cute.



They all left, Lex, sorry…


That’s not bad actually… but I’m still giving her a makeover.


The cuteness continues! The girls are almost identical at this stage, but Grace’s skin and eyes are lighter than Shay’s. Now who’s cuter?

Now that the girls are a bit more self relient, Lexie can get back to painting. Except theres nothing there to paint on.

I seriously worry about you.


And Barry can get back to doing what he loves…

Okay, I know I said it was Lexie I worry about, but I’m starting to think I should reserve some concern for poor little Grace. The kid’s been watching Action World for over three hours and I don’t think it’s entirely child appropriate. Anyway, I must bid you adieu… or however that saying goes. 1.7 The Lavoir Legacy: Engaging


Hey and welcome back to the Lavoir legacy where Lexie and Shay look like they’re trying to stare down the devil himself… or herself…


I personally don’t see what the problem is. Grace seems like a normal kid to me, making all her cute little faces, but people just stare at her like she’s going to explode at any second. Her own family included.


On the other hand, everyone loves Shay. She’s Mommy and Daddy’s little girl.


Poor baby…



Not your every move. For instance I have no idea where you’re off to right now. Or what you’re wearing.

I still fail to understand how you got promoted while on maternity leave…



Despite her psycho vibes, Barry still looks after Grace just as well as he does Shay. You know Barry’s not too bad. For a townie.



Of course Barry has a job too, so I decided it was time to get a baby sitter. This is why I shouldn’t make decisions. Josh here stood outside the house for 2 full hours before he heard Grace crying from upstairs.


And even then he went straight to Shay! I actually had to bring Lexie home from her first day back at work just so the social worker didn’t arrive.


She was even less helpful! If it was any other house I would have helped Grace myself, but she happened to be born into my legacy, my one cheat free home. So it was all up too…



He’s a good little housewife, isn’t he?

I know, just give it time. Poor impatient townie boy, so used to the whirlwind of story progression, he has no idea how to take it slow…

So?


But townie boy did have a point. So we left the kids in the hands of Josh and went to ‘The Grind’ where, as you may remember, Barry and Lexie first met.


As you can see Lexie was none the wiser of me and Barry’s plan.

Actually, I don’t think Lexie is ‘the wiser’ of anything…


After some drinks and a bit of table dancing on Lexies part, Barry pulled her aside to ask the big question.

Lexie had a feeling of what he would say next and suddenly she became lightheaded.


She felt her hand drift out from Barry’s and then…


…she fainted. Coward sims, am I right?


When Lexie came too she was less than happy.

It’s okay Lex, I have an idea…


Barry woke the next morning disgruntled. He felt like such an idiot. Why would someone as amazing as Lexie want to marry him. Then he noticed all the beds were empty, even the cribs.


The girls must be watching Lexie paint outside…

When he turned the corner he saw that, in the place of the easel, stood Lexie and the twins standing in front of a rose arch.

1.8 The Lavoir Legacy: Generations


Welcome to the Lavoir house where crowd + music + balloons can only equal one thing…


Someone’s getting sparkly! I thought a party would be a good way to start off my first chapter with generations, so it’s time for the twins to age up once more.


And lucky me, Grace here got the new rebellious trait!


And Shay rolled good. What a pair.


For the birthday present I splurged on a pretty new room for the two!


Just what I need, another picky Lavoir.


Meanwhile the parents were enjoying their little party. Lexie got her grove on.



And Barry caught up with his old roommate while being stalked by the paparazzi. I should explain that recently Barry has gotten a few stars to his name due to his fabulous mixology skillage.


Lexie has also been getting some recognition in her field of choice. She even got this huge award ball of pure ugliness.

You’d think a fashion award would be more attract…



As if we don’t already






You know, the more I watch these two, the more opposite they seem. One dreams of jewels and the other dreams of dragons.


And Lexie dreams of Barry.


And Barry dreams of fish.


And Lexie dreams of eating that fish (this went on for a while, so I’m just gonna skip to morning).






I kind of love the Bridgeport school. It’s just so pretty.

And then it hit me, the way to go down in history as the most awesome legacy controller in all of history… well at least in Barry’s mind.

Okay, so there were a few picture that I really liked from this chapter, but after a few technical mishaps/me deleting the wrong pictures, there was no where they really fit, so here they are


After I installed generations Barry found his true love, this purple striped pillow.


Unfortunately, Lexie discovered their secret love, and it turns out she’s the jealous type.


Barry was upset after purple striped pillow was banned from the house, but Lexie made it up to him with flowers.


Man, he’s such a little girl.

I love the Lavoirs. They are just adorable and you really broaden their character. I just talk so you really don't know who the characters are, but I really love yours. I eas just thinking that you should have another Lavoir...

And if you don't mind me asking, but in the beginning of the chapter, could you remind us which color is for each person? I am horrible at remembering things.

Thanks im glad you enjoy it, and i just put all the characters and their colours on the frount page of the forum if that helps.

Random legacy affecting info for those who care:
I have recently customized my sim life span using the new generations features. The Lavoirs will now live for 60 days as opposed to 90, with varying amounts of time in the places that i see fit.
That is all.
PS don't ask me why im acting so formal, I just hope it wears off soon.

Hey there! Just o let you know I have decided to follow in the footsteps of some of my favorite legacy writers and create a family echo for the Lavoirs. See it here. This should be helpful in later generations, but for now its just fun!

Awww, it hasn't been too long has it? I've still been working on it, I'm just not physicaly able to type out a zillion chapters a month like everyone else seems to be doing
