You don't have to uninstall it if you don't want to though guys. You can just disable it for a few seconds to install the patch and re-enable it. Always remember to re-enable it though

And thanks for the clarification with regards to not needing to uninstall just to update the game. Yikes, I wouldn't want anybody thinking that's what I meant! Definitely just disable for now, I was only referring to any future decision to switch AV's.

The game will not let me log in and play until I download this patch, but the game will also not let me download this patch. It keeps saying my game is up to date, but then when I try to play it tells me that I need to update. It was working fine earlier and all day until this.

edit: I am on a Mac

im not doing this patch i have up t0 1.31 and i dont us ethe sim port and my game is running ok so im not going to worry

I forgot to take my mods out before patching. I know you should take them out, but I don't know what can happen if you forget?

Enchant, just take them out now and it should be ok. I have done that and been fine. Take them out before starting up your game. Just delete them from your folder and put in a back up folder on your desktop.

Glad to hear it should be fine. I don't have time to play right now to find out though. I took my mods out, thank you.

That's odd, I have never had Norton stop me from patching before. Wonder what it was doing that triggered that.

I want to patch my game but I have to wait for my mods to be updated first. I can't use simport until I update which sucks but at least they fixed it fast for some people.

Why aren't people worried about what's in this update which is setting off their Norton?

i would be thats why im not uupdating i dont use sim port so thats all it basically fixes i have 1.31 so thats fine

lot people i know say norton not the best antiviruses. some of the crappy antiviruses block everything that goes online. also had avast block zoo tycoon 2

I haven't patched yet, but I'm closely watching this thread. I'm going to wait until at least tomorrow afternoon to give EA a chance to respond about what's going on.
