Dude. Best, most accurate rant ever. I have a BRAND NEW IMAC. ******* $1400 computer, and my $300+ worth of new sims games have so many ******* problems. Every time I get a new game is crash city. EA don't makes us mac users doubt you. Macs are gonna take over the world soon.

Mac was never built for gaming. Not even for The Sims 3. Can't stand EA's attitude towards us Mac users, especially for those who had to get one cos their company or school required them them to get it.

*yawn* I cannot believe that people are still churning out this outdated and naive view. It may have been true 10 years ago but not now.

Macs are absolutely fine for gaming if the game is natively written for the Mac OS which The Sims 3 ISN'T.

And yes, EA's attitude towards Mac users stinks.

I'd give up Sims before I gave up my Mac, and I've been playing since Sims 1 came out over a decade ago, so this would be a sad outcome for me. Happily, using a few key Twallan mods and being careful about which worlds I choose means that most of the time I can play without too many problems on my iMac. Yes, we are treated like second class customers and there are some Mac-specific issues that are not properly addressed, but we are treated that way by EA, not by Apple. Plus there are plenty of PC simmers with serious game problems too. Bugs in this game are by no means limited to Mac simmers.

Sims 2 for Mac, made for Mac by Aspyr ran perfectly without a single hiccup for me. It ran infinitely better than the PC version that I initially used. Sims 3 with Cider rubbishness... not so good. Sometimes you get what you pay for, and I'm guessing that Cider was a much cheaper option than Aspyr.

I just got my iMac today, haven't yet installed all my sims discs, am a bit scared to be honest. But just a few hours on this iMac is enough to know that I would be unlikely to go back to a PC, and that I too would give up my Sims addiction of nine years before I gave up this computer.

Plus I'm now not really 100% sure now how to go about installation and downloading for a Mac... Just reading a few threads is enough to show me that I have now joined the great uncared for! (But are PC folk cared about any more than we are?)

Geez, if we were really beloved Mac folk, they ought to give us a native Sims 3 for Mac.

ATM I can't even play I had to force quit it because it opened 3 times and wouldn't close so I force quit it

now when I get to the loading screen with the cute messages like boosting bark volume it comes up with a message saying exception raised then some tech numbers then asking me to debug or cancel I think either way it closes my game
so angry

Have you had a chance to delete all the memories? I was shocked by how much pep my game got in its step once I mass deleted all the memories. ALL my sims' scrapbooks were full, and I assume most if not all the Townies' memories were at max, too. It was craaaazy.

Hi Jooliea,

OH YES! I was sick and tired of that memory system anyway. I was happy to find out it deletes memories in town as well! I got a great boost of stability and performance just with that one feature!

Figwit is super correct. Don't go to the MATY forums. You can get the mod directly here (warning: that IS a direct link, it will start the download if clicked). You can set up your Awesome config file here…

I went to the MATY site, didn't care for it right off the bat so thank you for the links and I'll follow your advice - they have helped me so much thus far I'll keep testing what I've got so far a while longer before trying AwsomeMod.

Oh! That's so sweet of yout! But I never got pessimism vibes from you. Also, being pragmatic is an indispensable quality i hope you'll cherish forever

Have a fantastic day Jooliea and Sul Sul!

I have a question, how do we delete all the townies memories without having to go through everyone individually?
