Religion is at times a very serious commitment in peoples lives. If it wasn't represented correctly for them personally it could make a lot of people feel misrepresented in the game. I live in the real world... I did the I'm sick, in hospital, kidney failure and kidney transplant. So I like real/fantasy my Sims are between the two so making religion would be good but I honestly would like more activities for my Sims family so yeah... That's just my take on it.

yes this is a good idea! It should be like the Sims Medieval churches that would add more realism to the game

This is a terrible idea and would be pretty offensive to a lot of people. I wouldn't mind a polytheistic religion, but something that is just bluntly based on those of nowadays? No thanks, I don't want my sims to be hated on just for liking the same gender. And I don't want to be reminded of that haters like that exist by seeing them preach around in my game. The Sims probably don't have a religion. And they did that for obvious reasons. Put one reference in to religion to cause a chain reaction of people wanting their religion represented and people being offended by it. They aren't going to put religion in the main games, EA doesn't need anymore complaints.

No just no, The only god my Sims need is me, me and me. No religion....
Please help your self to older threads and see that they never turn out well.

like ive said in earlier posts. im more interested in my sims being diverse and having their own cultures it makes gameplay more fun for ME (personally), i find it more worrying you want little animated characters to worship you as their good lol

Wow. Seriously. You seriously don't know how religion relates to haters? Are you that oblivious? And you basically just said "Be offended, deal with it." Fine, tell that to the Homosexuals, who are basically 'sinners' according to most religions. So I shouldn't be offended by that? Sure.
Religion is NOT some subject you can just add and go like "Lol, well that's fun." like you think it is. It's something that can offend people. And well, good for you, I wasn't talking about being political correct. The Sims already has enough cultures on its own, culture isn't just religion.
What gameplay would it add? Nothing, at all. We don't need religion, nor holidays nor stuff like that. They won't make religion a part of this game, if you really want them to worship you, then make an alter or something and take a picture of your face and add it in. Seriously..

There is just one problem I see with the "sim religion" being polytheistic (if I remember correctly that's more then one god). Some (not all) Chirstians, Muslims, and Jews would have a fit about it not being 1 god only. The only major relgion I know of today which has more then one god in their relgion is Hindu. (I don't know anything about Buddhism and Sikh)

That's the thing, The Sims aren't real humans. So why follow a religion or a religion based on one. Polytheistic would make it interesting, as it obviously wouldn't be a blunt sims version of some religion that they have here on earth. They could be creative with polytheistic Sims, and it wouldn't bring the the obvious issues with them. I still don't want to see any form of religion in The Sims 3 though.

um Dark, only one Christian group doesn't like gay people. That's Catholics, and that's not ALL Catholics are the same, only some Catholics. I'm not part of Catholic Chirstanty. Have you ever read your holy book? It literally says that homosexuals can be blamed for their own bloodshed. Whether or not you, or other religious follow that or not, it still says it. Religion is a controversial topic and would offend people. No matter what, whether it are the religious them selfs for not finding their believes in how ea would portray it or the people who are hated by religion, or the people who just don't believe and don't want anything to do with it. It will cause EA to lose sales, so they wouldn't do that.

Ehm.. You oughta want to recheck that. It's good that at least your religion is open minded. But the key point is that it is still considered a bad thing by most religions, which I find offending. EA won't add religion to The Sims 3. THankfully.
