THIS IS NOT WORKING! I CANT HANDLE ALL THESE CRASHES! I go on my game to my fav family, then BAM! IT CRSHES AFTER 2 MINUTES!!! I get sooooo mad i acully KICK my computer! I need a good and EASY respond!!!!

I've been having this problem a lot lately.
The game worked fine when I played it on my PC during the summer. I've recently gotten a new laptop, so I don't know if it's because of my specs or the game.

I'll try lowering my graphic settings in the game; I'm guilty for having the maximum settings for everything. ;-;
I also have some (around 100) mods; altogether, they add up to 370 MB. I try to refrain myself and keep my mods around 100 and no more than that.

My game runs wonderfully smooth and the loading time is decent. The crashing is the only problem. When I crash, it just turns black for a second and I'm back on my desktop with no error message. I notice that most of the time the game crashes when I attempt to save the game.

no it shouldnt cause any problems u just will hve to reinstall it when u go to update game.

remember this thread is full of fixes some seem stupid but have worked for people.one thng to remember is always delete this 4 files every time starting when u trying to get your game to work.simCompositorCache,scriptCache, compositorCache, and CASPartCache. delete them every single time u restarting game while trouble shooting. dontworry those 4 files are remade every time u start game if they missing. they are files to help game runn faster thats why they just caches.

yosh back after upgrading my computers 350 watt psu and 8800gtx to a 700 wat psu and geforce 275 gtx.

ok for those crashing after game is running a for a short while.
1. the sims 3 has it hard coded in its .exe to not use more than 2 gig of ram. yet the game always goes past that. if u got less than 2 gig of ramm on your comp realy think about upgrading if u can(pst ram is cheap just use your eatout budget for a month to upgrade it). if u go to page 20 or so is a fix that will let u mod the .exe to force it to use more than 2 gig of ram(max it still use is 4 but thats better than 2).u can try that the post has complete details what to do so its easy. this has helped alot of people that could play but crash after anywhere from 5min to 40min. nextis the fps limiter. the sims 3 has no limiter in it to keep fps from randomly fluctating. on some vid cards this is bad they cant handle it and baam game crashes. i forget the page but its somewhere around page 20.

2. crash on loading game menu. this is a tricky one to trouble shoot. 90% of the time thou it is cause of custom content(yes that includes the exchange and the store). rest of the time i can be anything i mean anything from stuff on your comp like the kiddy color program for your kids u installed all the way to a drive u updated a few days ago. it can be complicated to trouble shoot and only thing to do is trail and error.

3. the sims3 and your vid card driver are fighing each other and sims 3 loses. its not just nivida drivers some people with other cards have had similar problems. u could try to roll back to ealier drivers and see how it does but do this as a last resort thou.

and on a extra note dont forget that some of the nivida drivers are causeingg the game to crash and even cause the blue screen of death so make sure to get a driver that is provento work.

well ill check back tomrrow now time to make a cup off white tea grab my cigs and play some caesar 4 or civcity rome.

I had this problem. It started every now and then but ended up every time I played it!

I uninstalled it and deleted all of the files in the my documents (apart from my downloads

). Reinstalled it and haven't had this problem since. I no for a fact my PC meets the requirements of the game because I specifically bought it for the game.

Well this is just a shot in the dark, but if I had to take a guess at why it was doing it I would have to say that your machine is over heating and shutting down. This game really makes your machine run and could cause that. If you know what your doing try cleaning out your fans and heat sink. they get clogged with dust and make it harder for your machine to cool down after time.

A crash was taken place as I made a sim move in with me with CHEAT CODES.
I also tested this days ago, using cheats a lot in one session will crash you.

Hopefully EA will fix that.

Or is it only me, will someone please try to move a Sim in with a cheat code and wait a 5 minute? (Btw other events I did with cheating was adding friends with mailbox and make me know everyone).

For some people cheat codes will crash you, so once you cheat be sure to save your game. For a good reason, the save button is there for a reason.

I never had a problem with my game crashing. Now all of a sudden when I click the check mark after Im done changing my sims hair or picking a different outfit it shuts down and goes to my desk top. Can someone please help?

This is really annoying!!!! I've been trying to play my Sims 3 game for the longest and enjoy it. I had nothing but headaches!!!! This game have major flaws int he programing and no it's not my computer, I meet all of the requirements and I still have nothing but problems.... Crashing to the desktop, can't save, and freezing up.... this is really burning me up since I spent my money on this game and I'm not able to enjoy but only 30% of the time. Before all of the updates and expansions I used to be able to create and build and save my work, but now I can't at all.... I installed it on at least 6 different computers and laptops and they all met the requirements, guess what.....?, the same thing is happening on each computer, some worked a little longer then the other but they all still crash.

I did my whole system over and installed the sims 3 plus the expansion WA and now that it updated it is even worst then before!!!! I can't save if I play more then 5 mins or even sometimes none at all. It crashes even faster then before. I'm a big fan of the sims but I have to admit something, I am having the worst experiences with this game and It is turning me away from even playing it at all.... to be honest I feel that I been robbed by EA. I tried all of the different solutions and not one and I repeat, NOT ONE WORKED!!!

I have a few friends and family members who also enjoy the sims but I will be telling all of my friends and family not to waste their money because I feel I been robbed this time around with the sims. I had issues with the sims 2 also but they were corrected soon after they were reported to EA but this time around it seem like the tech dept is slipping... I'm shelving this game!
