Since installing it, on speed 2 my sims move all jerky, like in the movie the Ring. Very creepy and annoying. And on speed 3, they go SUPER duper fast. Ont he 4th one, that's supposed to be the "ultra super speed", it just goes back to speed 1. I don't like this at all, and my game played MUCH better without it.

So, how do I uninstall the Buggy patch!?

Well I can't even get it to install so I'm lucky then. It opens the browser to a page 404, what's the point to that.

It doesn't address the borked ageing and it does nothing to stop male sims one day away from dying of old age from spawning babies with no female. Address the real issues in the game, the community have addresses half of these ones already.

I removed my mods folder before I even tried so it isn't that.

I think we need to know how to save our current game files before we install these patches, just in case we have to reinstall to get rid of them

backup save game files, uninstall the game, reinstall the game.

Oy. I haven't installed it yet (I am at work) but apparently speed 4 was supposed to skip directly to the end of the current action, so while you think it goes back to speed one, it does so only because the current action is complete.

We asked for faster speed, and EA obliged. Most people do not "play" at speed two anyway, so it is better to have it faster yet jerky than slower and smooth.

I think we need to be happy a patch finally came out instead of complaining about it though

if i uninstall the game (to get rid of the patch) will i lose all my families?

I should've known not to use the patch. I never used any of their patches for TS2 beacuse they screwed things up more than helped.

And thanks for the non-help Blondy. But I think I'll complain if I like when something that was supposed to "help" my game, made my already fine game that could use some tweaking in the speed department, made it worse. When on speed 3, it goes so fast you can't even control them. And it does not mean the task is over. As soon as you click the speed 4, it reverts to speed 1. And seeing has you haven't even tried the patch, then you go ahead and have it screw up your game play.
And speed 2 isn't any faster. The only faster one is speed 3. Speed 2 just makes them jerky. Not faster. But if you like jerky, r moving around so fast you have to pause the game in order to get them to do something other than free will, then have right at it.

I agree Flutteryes. I'd much rather have my Sims stop vanishing from the house. I had a teen grow up while in active game play, and now she can't be found. I have another sim that has also vanished. On the family tree it says they are alive, but I can't even call them from the phone.
I only used the patch thinking, while my speed issues weren't as bad as some people, it would be nice for it to go a bit faster while they sleep or work. Eek.. not like this though. Holy crap it's horrible.

How do I back up my already saved Sim families, since it seems I have to now uninstall my game and reinstall?

theres no way im uninstalling my game.
im not starting everything over because EA messed up again.
ill just wait another month for them to come out with something else,
that will hopefully actually help.
and keep my game from crashing.

well, unless you have a bunch of CC, backing up the families, won't make you start all over. But I'm assuming you have a bunch of CC. I don't yet. There hasn't been anything released that I like enough to have. But I do have families that I don't want to go away, and would like to keep around instead of starting from scratch

if you uninstall will al the custom content like from the store and exchange be deleted?

i know!
i cant believe they put this patch out.
it doesnt even "fix" much.
there were hugeeee lists of things that the TS2 patches fixed.
the only thing this one does is make my game crash.
