The original Riverdale was one of my favorites, but some parts of it kept bugging me. So here is a re-make of that town.

http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=4765940

Changes:

Fire Station is now complete
New terrain paints
New dirt roads
Many new lots
Repairs made to tombs
Updated for Pets
Roads smoothed
Wall gaps repaired

I was somewhat surprised at how much work was involved in a re-make. I was thinking maybe a couple days work, but it turned into several weeks. Playtesting took a whole week, and Im afraid there will still be some errors.

Very nice. Do you want me to make an Archie for it?

Beautiful..but doesn't look like that kind of Riverdale, LOL.

Doc is this one catagorized normal world or city world, as I have discovered no matter how pretty, the city worlds are just not my cup of tea. I have no problem with a world having a city like that, as long as it is not set as a city world. Just my own silly preference, but I especially am not happy with Pets and city worlds, so i am really hoping this one is not set as a city as the housing area looks great. Knowing me the city buildings will be the land of the NPCs and I just use them for an occassional night out for my sims. hehehe Hey just like my real life. hehehe

Anyway I already know this world is probably near perfect - checking your worlds is like checking Rflongs, you two rarely have anything with problems - so that isn't a worry regardless of what you say about maybe missing something. Silly Doc! But if it's just a normal - non-city world I would be interested in at least checking it out.

I do believe I did not ever check out the first version as it came out when I was already playing and checking out another of your worlds, and I thought it was a city world. I really don't like them like I said. So I figured I'd ask. The suburbs look nice.

Nope, it is not a city. Lots of wildlife runs through the streets. But, it was intended to be populated. I spent 2 weeks developing the characters before I realized I was doing it wrong. So, it is unpopulated.

Not a problem Doc. I don't mind the non-populated at all. Gives me a chance to use some of my own favorite sims. I usually just put one in and work with them while the town adds it's own service sims, bartenders and such, so when I do add more sims, none get stuck behind a bar or register. I found I can hurry that progress and check for problems at the smae time by taking my sim to each of the destinations that need NPCs. I try to avoid getting my sim a job though until I add my own sims in, that way the game is more inclined to make my own sims co-workers and bosses with out any EA pudding faces moved into the hood. I have found out that the majority of bartender and register tillers do not take up residence in the towns houses, which leaves all of them for my sims. I also avoid getting a town full of game manufactured sims. So it is always great to have a finished town without the populations as well especially after a new ep to see things still work as they did and all my populating tricks work. My own sims are highly skilled and have jobs, complete wardrobe with no funny hats or speedos or flippers and all done the hard way - no cheating to make them what they are. I made them each one at a time everytime i test a new world I make a new sim then save him when the testing is done. Believe me, I have a TON of these girls and guys. Also before I would save them, each of my sims have either gotten a tatoo or ate ambrosia which both sends them back to the beginning of YA. I also play epic aging so it always works out I have a few hundred sims just waiting for homes.

Anyway, glad to know this and i am downloading as city worlds without the city icon I enjoy. Should be hilarious seeing wildlife running down main st. I know we all laugh in real life watching a gaggle of wild geese or turkeys and whole herds of deer sometimes do that around my real life area. We even have street signs at known deer/moose crossings - geese, duck, and turkey crossings where the speed limits are reduced in these areas just in case because you have to stop when the creatures are crossing where there are signs. But nothing beat coming out of a Sunrise Easter service at church year before last and see an entire herd of deer (1 male and about 8 females and 2 young ones) all sitting out on the front lawn like statues. They must have liked the sermon. hehehe

But honestly in the upper parts of New England seeing wildlife every where is quite common.

OK downloading now.

Thanks Doc, I downloaded and Rec'd them all. Hey, did you ever happen to watch Rawhide on tv or something eons ago. With the Rowdy Yates/ Clint Eastwood play on names - just wondering. Made me laugh and go back to my childhood. Like the Crazy cat lady too. Every hood needs one of those. Any way thank you, this will make it easier to decide who else to add when I start putting Sims in. Already I see one of those young ladies a perfect match for the fellow I was thinking of starting with - my Sam Lewis who is a fullfledged Detective and loves the ladies. *He is also based on my Uncle Sam when he was younger than he is today for sure - looks a lot like my Uncle used too and is just as nice) but at least he'll have some nice choices. So thanks. I will probably start playing right after dinner -

Ha! Yes I do remember that show. Maybe it was a subconscious murmur that made me do it. I hope you have fun with it. Let me know if the tombs are too tough/easy.
