A Craftsman Style House - Build Contest

Hey Simmers! So I know I have been super busy but I think you guys need another challenge to work on. This one is going to be a build challenge since it has been a bit since my last build contest.

You guys might not know this but my husband and I were able to buy some land, we will have it paid off in another 2 and half years. We moved a trailer onto the property to live and have been working very slow to make some needed repairs for living, while we work to make improvements to the land itself (biggest challenge is getting things leveled and cleared out – 2.6 arches on very rich land). After that is finished we will begin building our own home; so we have really been looking at different floor plans, housing types and ideas and such.

My husband is partial to Craftsman house which I am not that familiar with so your mission dear simmers should you choice to accept it (sorry, we watched Mission Impossible tonight….

is to build a Craftsman style house for this contest.

Lot size, number of rooms ect is all in your hands thought I personally like it when you guys add in extra rooms for the kids but I do not want to mess with anyone’s creative juices.

As always I hope this is something you all will find interesting and want to do. And, since we know I will of course forget something; post your questions below!

See rules/guidelines below for all of the fine details and I hope you all find it is something you are interested in doing.

CONTEST DETAILS

These are the basic rules, I am sure I did not think of everything to please let me know if you have any questions.

1) You are welcome to enter two times but you can only place once; I will use your highest set of scores for judging.

2) Please no 3rd party custom contest - as always the one exception is custom patterns are allowed.

3) All expansion packs/stuff packs/store items/T-Mobile Items/Dr. Pepper Items Are Allowed.

4) Screenshots are required! They can be done either here or in a slideshow but must include ….. (no limit on screenshots but if you are planning on going to crazy please post it in a slideshow, blog or separate post).

Most of the judging will be done based off your screenshots and description.

PLEASE NOTE ~ I keep saying this but I want to make sure new people are aware - Your Presentation of your Entry Matters! There is a set of scores for this in the judging. In most of my contest, the winners were people who did well on the presentation as well as the build/Sim/ect. While it is not required to make your entry look good, it really can be the difference between winning and lossing so it is a really good idea for you to take your time putting your entry together!

5) Commonly used building cheats such as buydebuy and moveobjects are all allowed as well as any other ones I am not as familiar with.

6) While this should go without saying; please make sure you are entering with your own work and not someone else’s.

7) You may edit your posts as many times as you would like till you are happy with your entry. Just let me know it is done by posting something like "Official Entry".

Please post each entry in its own post. It gets confusion when there is more than one entry in the same post. I will not count your post as a valid entry till they are separated – I have not enforced this in the past but I will with this contest. I am not trying to be picky it just gets confusing.

9) Please have your entry be a new build and not one that has been entered in another contest.

7. WOW Factor: 0 – 5 Points

I am sorry for the delay guys this was a very hard one to judge and as you will see the winners were very close with only a few points between 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and a three way tie for forth. I felt we needed more than just three places so I added a 4th place (which was slip 3 ways so all will win 4th place prize) I really wish I could gift everyone since everyone did an amazing job.
