up until earlier today my sims 3(pets) started freezing on me the weird thing is, is that it's not really freezing so much as everything just sort of stalls. all the sims and pets will stop moving but any sort of animation(the plumbops and sleeping zzz's)is still going. i don't have any mods or anything and i can't think of any other reason why it'd be acting up like this all of a sudden... my computer is pretty much brand new and was running perfectly up to this point. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!

A lot of people have this after Showtime, myself included. I think it might have to do with the latest update. Did you install the latest update?

i did, but i got pets 2 days ago and it was working fine up until i was mid-game :/ the only thing i can think of was that i made my starter house a little bit larger... i hope it is just a patch thing that they can fix though :/ i'll try maybe reducing the settings next time i play to see if that helps :[

If you haven't already tried you can try resetting all the sims in your neighborhood. Sometimes a sim or npc in the neighborhood will get stuck somewhere and cause lag/freezing.

To reset the sims, bring up the cheat box (press Control/shift/C at the same time). Then type resetsim* in the cheat box (make sure to type the * symbol).

i tried resetting the sims with the console command but it still has the delay :/ i also tried reducing the settings down all the way with no luck... i'm at a loss, i really love playing this game but it's nearly impossible to play like this >.> if anyone knows of any methods that might help, or know exactly why it's acting this way, i'd greatly appreciate it!!! thanks again!!

I had the same problem, I did resetSim*, and it did not really help. But I figured out why. I had my anti-virus software scanning! After it got done, Sims 3 ran as smooth as it did. Make sure you have nothing else that takes up RAM in the backround. Goodluck.
