Hello CAW Forum members and visitors!

No, this is not about the WA EP. This thread consists of a group of people who love exploring new Sims 3 Worlds, hence the title of our group: WORLD EXPLORERS. Our original thread was broken so this is our second version of our WE thread.

Some of us have created worlds using the CAW tool, and some of us test creators' new worlds to help them find problems and issues before the final world is released; most of all we just enjoy the creativity and variety of the wonderful custom worlds that are created and posted here on this forum.

HOW TO JOIN

The premise is simple: we all create and share one or more sims (it could be a family) that we want to represent us, and that everyone in the group is able to download and add to any custom world they'd like to play. This is fun and also it's helpful to have extra sims when testing unpopulated worlds. Then we play the game and share some of the antics our sims find themselves in, and the interesting goings on of the world we are playing at the time.

SCREENSHOTS WELCOME BUT NOT REQUIRED

Screenshots of the sims and world are not required but are welcome because this lets others see their sims as well as what the world looks like in case anyone else would like to download and try it out. If you do post pictures we usually try to limit ourselves to vignettes, which could be as few as 1 or 2 screenshots and on occasion could be up to 6-8 screenshots in one post. There is no requirement for how often you need to post about your games or anything like that; some of our members get busy IRL for awhile but may return later. So play and share whenever you have the time, but do try to stay on-topic as much as possible so that our thread doesn't get deleted.

Occasionally a world we are playing may no longer be available but we hope their beauty and creativity will inspire other world builders. Other worlds we use should be listed in the World Index thread stickied at the top of this forum and we hope this venture will expose more people to the wonderful custom worlds of our CAW creators. We encourage others to try their worlds! If you don't see a world we've mentioned in the World Index, just ask, and if we can we'll tell you where to find it.

HOUSES

Participants may also post a link to a house to use for their sim(s), but it would be best if it is a separate download. The reason is that there are some worlds where there may not be enough space available for our houses and it will be easier to just add our sims. In other worlds, having a house to go with our sims will be very helpful. If you'd rather not go to the trouble of making separate downloads for house and sim that's OK, we'll manage! We can always save a copy of your sim(s) to our libraries.

If you do wish to share a house you may use any lot size you want but a standard size is best. A standard lot is one that is 20x20, 20x30, 30x30, 30x40, 40x40, etc. But keep in mind that very large lots may not fit in all worlds, or be feasible for everyone to play depending on their system specs.

If you want to participate by sharing a sim, we request that there be NO 3RD PARTY CUSTOM CONTENT. This also applies to a house if you decide to provide one. Some of us use CC and some of us do not, but even those of us who use it prefer to download it separately so that we have more control over it. So please, no CC. You may use any EP, Store, or Stuff Pack content but be mindful that not everyone may have the items you are using. If we get simmers who want to join but they can't download your sim or house because they lack the items you used, we may need to reconsider this. We would like to make it as easy as possible for others to come join the fun!

This would be a good time for everyone to look over their contributions of sims and houses and see if you want to make any changes.

So I mentioned that I was building yesterday. I've been thinking that my next house would be a colonial style that I want to try my hand at, but I've had this modern home plan laying around for probably over a year, and yesterday I got inspired to try to build it for the That's Entertainment thread. Not sure I'm happy with the result but it will take a week just to play test and finish decorating so maybe I'll like it better then. Then again, maybe not! Suggestions and comments are welcome.

I think I need to find some celebrity homes on the Internet to see what kinds of rooms are in them. My lack of knowledge of the celebrity lifestyle is showing, ha ha. I did put a music room and a game room in the basement, though.

Glad to see a new thread, Tangie and I think your suggestion for everyone to see if they want to update a sim; use a new sim and/or home, it's a good idea.

DD Katt is still my sim of choice but I actually use 1 of 3 homes for her depending on the world I'm playing in. I would like you to add the house you did for her with the + pets designation because that's the one I go to if there is a large enough lot. I meant to mention the other day that while playing during a session when I was logged in to use simport, Ruth popped up and said hi. I hope she stops by the thread sometime, too.

For the last couple of days, I've been updating HS. JM, you just kept talking about it and I finally had to look to see if I thought I could manage it. Yay, I did it. I haven't taken any pics but will do so now that I can just play in HS, although I'm still kicking around turning the lodge into a nectary. Wow, these worlds are never done, LOL.

Tangie, I like your house. I'm glad to see you're participating in that thread. The last time I looked, I was surprised at the feeling there weren't that many entrants. BTW, Celebrity is whatever you want it to be, imho. Seems like many equate it with a modern look home but I think as long as the lot functions well and is decorated nicely, regardless of style, it should be fine.

Rflong the tiny nectary is adorable and brilliant. Really love it.

Tangie no idea if you are aware of this, you probably are, but just in case you aren't , Twallan's SP causes the camera to move to another household if something and happens, like a sim catching on fire. I had that happen to me when I was playing Longview, and Gray got on fire wile he was inventing. The invisible Sims is a new thing. I think we got it with pets or one of the later patches, and now I see it all the time with ST. Sims are the last thing that the graphics are loading, therefore creating the invisible Sims illusion.

I'm still away, and I'll be getting back hometown Saturday. This week is a bit better, as finally the fiance of my sister in law got back to work, and I can finally roam the house freely, and have lunch with the rest of the family instead of being locked up on Mike's room in fear of the guy just vanishing to the other room of the house just because he hates my face.

I'm having some horrible back ackes though as they raised the floor around the kitchen sink, and it's now extremely low for me and kills my back when doing the dishes. 15 minutes of dish washing on Monday caused me 2 days of pain

I'm extremely annoyed with my self atm as I was planning to gift myself a few months of Sims playing, but my mind has once again wandered in the depths of CAW , and my imagination is currently running wild. I've already started planning it in my head. Lets see how much I'm gonna manage to stay away from CAW now, and actually enjoy my game. And I still consider my self as a lot builder and def not a world one

The whether here is all hot and sunny. As soon as May entered , it immediately felt like it's themiddle of summer. Times like this make me hate living in Greece. I want white Christmas and a decent spring for once!

DD I had to laugh about your comments on the modern house not just being for celebrities because I had thought the same thing. Like, what rule is there that says celebs only live in modern houses? I actually considered posting my Meditteranean house because I had my celebs living there and they loved it. But that would kind of be cheating since I built it awhile back. So I started work on this modern house, but this style really isn't my forte and I don't really know what to do with all that open space to make it look luxurious. So I'll have to give that some thought.

I tried to add the two houses to the first post but it's not letting me make changes right now. We'll see if it posts this and if so, I'll try again. I never got a chance to ask you if you liked the swimmable pond in the +Pets version of your farmhouse? I tried to get rid of the strange lines but the only way I know to do it is to line the whole thing with humongous rocks, like Johnnywr does for his grotto lots. They look so beautiful, but I thought it would take up too much space on the lot.

I have been playing in SV giving everyone makeovers and I plan on updating some of the houses there. Here are a few pictures for your entertainment.

Oh wow beautiful Sims DM. Lovely houses, too, there! I just downloaded Lunar Bun sim. One benefit of starting over is I can realize more what I'm missing. I am missing quite a lot of our sims since I restarted on the new computer. Due to only playing in HS, which was already populated, I only brought over 3 or 4 of my own sims and that family I made of Ronnie Rausage and Pary a long time ago that I pack up and drop everywhere I go.

I got a laugh out of seeing Quailhogs house again because it reminds me so much of Collinwood from Dark Shadows. I haven't gotten that yet because it's a household and I'm still stuffed with EA made sims. I wish I had the option of Kill All sims with what I'm doing so I could have emptied HS out more. I am really loving how HS has come together with all my Showtime stuff.

I do have new sims I might contribute as Jenny Moonlight but I will need to get them repackaged without Katy Perry edition hair and clothing. Actually I would only pick one of the three I made recently. I do think I'm done with contributing families. It's easier to move singletons around and make your own families.

I am glad to hear Ruth made an appearance and is doing well. I may be scarce here awhile. Hard to say. My daughter got signed up for another activity today and I got signed up for a volunteer post and am also trying to arrange some playdates. I've had the flu once again...I can't believe it. So I'm just loading up on medicine trying to get better before my volunteer work comes due.

Yahoo, new thread. I will have to think about a new sim. I am almost done aging up and saving all the kids in GB, Maybe I will use one of them. I have so busy playing all these worlds, I haven't put any time at all into home designing, aside from personalizing homes that my sims are living at in those worlds.

DM Re: johnny's Gothic Surfer house. I remember that one but can't remember which world it was in. Was it one of Rflong's? After seeing your pictures, I was thinking it would a perfect home for my now YA vampire, Jeffrey Ravenwood. Great pics as always. Your sims always look so nice.

Hi all!

A quick heads up for those using Overwatch V61. Apparently, there is a conflict with the new store tablet. My sim wasn't able to listen and do anything else, the ear piece would just disappear from the ear. When I changed Cleanup Skill Modifiers in Overwatch, the table started functioning correctly. I've reported at Twallan's site. Yes, I finally joined.

Also, there may be a conflict with simfests as well. I wasn't having any simfest notifications in my updated HS and thought maybe I had done something wrong. When I turned off Clean up Concerts, I started getting simfest notifications. I've reported that as well.

I also have a question about the FOY that I hope someone can answer. I'm playing the nutty Emmaline Rhoen and she got the wish for youth granted. Her life span bar moved to the beginning of the adult age but didn't show young adult. Now she is aging again but since it is showing adult to elder, I'm not sure what to expect. With the wish granted, it should be young adult to elder but I don't know if maybe it counts as ya but doesn't show it? I hope that's clear. Anyway insight as to what should show on the age bar after getting the wish to return to your youth will be appreciated.

DM, you're so good with makeovers BTW, that reminds me that the other house DD might play is the Dreams lot but now it's usually the made over one done by DM for GFH. DM, if you want to upload to the exchange, be my guest. You did an outstanding job with the remodel.

Rukaya, you were brave to do all those fixes to LA-ST again, imho. It's a most interesting world and I still have it installed. I haven't played it recently, though. I got pretty tired of doing constant fixes since redos aren't my favorite thing to work on unless I'm testing.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments about the modern house. I guess I have to finish it now. Just kidding, was planning to anyway! I'll be making a quick trip this weekend though so it may not get finished until just before the deadline! Which if I remember correctly is the 21st.

Thanks for the info you found out about OW, DD. I will keep an eye on that. As far as the FOY, I've only ever tried it on YA's but I've read elsewhere that it only takes sims back to their current life stage, but does not age them down. I'll have to think about it and edit my post if I remember where I've seen that and try to verify that I remembered that correctly.

Love the picture, DD. The first time I put that rock out in a kid's room and saw the daddy sim come pick it up, pet it, and put it in his inventory I cracked up laughing.

I thought Johnny's surfer house was in Mariner's Reach? But I'm probably thinking about a different house! I don't remember it being gothic so I'm sure it must be a different house.

DD, I don't know anything about the FOY having never tried it, but I just buy the youth potion from Lifetime reward for 70,000 points and have my sims drink that. After entering the testingcheatsenabled true at the very beginning of the game, you just go to the little chest on lifetime reward space point your cursor near the chest, usually at the bottom right corner of chest, and hold control and push enter and watch the points go up. As the kids in each of my families aged up to YAs and moved out, I saved each of them and when they were all gone I had the parent drink the potion and saved them as YAs too. I did this with all my families in GB and now I have to play my family in Storybrook county and the other one in the new updated and populated MV. When they are grown up I will finally have aged up all my sims children. I didn't realize there so many. Whew I then deleted GB and dl'd the updated GB. Looks very nice.
Tangie I am glad you are going to finish that house. I like it very much. I enjoy using your houses in my games. I don't think the house was in MR. But I will check this afternoon after I get back from the library.
I also deleted Posotano, by Remmo really lovely world. While very pretty, it was just too cramped for me.

Hey! I've been thinking about making a new Sim and house to replace Bun. I am thinking about making a Sim that would be perfect for The Occult Dominancy legacy/challenge I invented, but I'm not sure what to make... I'll get right on that! And hopefully this can get a few more new people to come!

Btw, yes. I LOVE that house, Tangie! It looks very cozy, given the setting that it is in!


DD, I've heard that the FOY is sensitive to some people when installed with other Premium Content. More specifically, with the Spellbook installed, it is unusable altogether for a lot of people. What other PC do you have from the store?

"I need a vacation!" It seems like that's what he is thinking anyway. "What do Sims need a vacation from?" you might ask. I've wondered the same thing, they have cushy little lives for the most part, at least mine do!

Oh, DM, I am laughing so hard. I find it quite plausible that your DW will LOVE the game and think perhaps a fund for a second computer should be started. I have visions of Mr. and Mrs. DM playing sims side by side!

Thanks for reminding me about the points, Rukaya. I really do try not to cheat As hard as it is to get the wish from the fountain, I'll just go to my old standby and send her to get a tatoo. That rolls back the age by a couple of weeks. I can't believe that's been broken since Ambitions came out and EA hasn't gotten it fixed.

Hey Bun! I have all the PC but for that toilet. Sorry, that thing is just plain ugly and will have to go on sale for about a dime before I would even be tempted. Yikes, $4 for a toilet...no, no, no! My apologies to anyone who likes the toilet, doesn't make me right and you wrong, it's just a personal opinion. Anyway, the FOY is working, I just thought it was supposed to take a sim back to the beginning of the ya stage, regardless of how old the sim was when the wish was granted. Obviously, I'm wrong. I found a wiki article that says it goes back to the start of the current life stage but don't get why EA wouldn't make it grant a wish for ya stage. That would seem to me to be the logical thing for an FOY to do.
