After noticing that store items weren't showing up in my game, I performed a clean reinstall. I then used the launcher to install around 12 items from the store...none of which showed up.

Then I put some CC in the mods>packages folder, those all show up fine.

Next I tried installing some non-store CC .sims3packs with the launcher. Nope. Says they're installed but they are nowhere to be found.

So anything installed using the launcher is not working.

Please help! I've seen a lot of other posts like this recently.
I have the base game, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations and Pets.

I had that problem after trying to install the new Goth set from the store. Instead of doing a reinstall I just did a factory reset, which will also give you a clean game. I had to reinstall all the store items, then I had to reinstall some of them again again, then finally hit the select all button on my launcher. After going through this store items finally started showing up for me.

I just read through another thread and tried this:

You simply delete the The Sims 3 Preferences folder in your computer library.
Copy & Paste on your desktop then delete the original.


Username> Library>Preferences>The Sims 3 Preferences

Ummm... no such folder exists for me. Running Windows 7. I have all the EPs up to and including Showtime, OL and TLS.
