So my mum went and deleted the community school accidentally and built her house in it's place. (Yes she plays sims possibly more than I do! But isn't too expert on the whole edit town mode bit yet...)

Anyway, is there any way she could get it back? We've looked on empty community lots to place but there's nothing there. I'm wondering, because it's a pidgeon hole will it be a lot more complicated than just downloading from the exchange? Please help my mum get her sims back into education!

I would just start a new game on a different save, go to edit town and save the school in the folder, then go to your current game and place it there.

Rofl, that's awesome that your mom plays. The best thing to probably do is open up a new version of your town, save the school lot to the bin, and place it back in your mom's saved game. However, if your mom wants to keep her house on that lot, there are a couple other options. You can open up other neighborhoods to see if they have a school lot of a size that you can plop somewhere else in town. I know that town life stuff came with a nice school lot (40x30 I think, pretty easy to place in a town). You can also build your own if you don't find one you like. The school building is located in Build Mode>Community Objects. Hope you get it all sorted out!

The easiest thing to do would be to start a new game in the same town you're playing in, go to edit town mode, save the school to community lots, go back to your saved game and replace the school. Then you have the exact school/lot that was there before it got deleted.

Just go to edit town mode, save the family to bin, with or without the house depending on rather or not you have a lot the proper size for the house elsewhere in town.

Once you have them saved to bin, bulldoze that lot. Turn it back into a community lot.

Once the lot is community again, and empty, you should be able to place a school in that lot again and not have to lose your town.

Oh duh! I never even thought of that! I may aswell save the school from my saved game in that case, thanks for the help guys! My mum is very pleased

@WOWLynnia: It may seem awesome but it's not when she hogs the game more than me! But it is fun to have someone living in the house who you can talk to about sims all day

Glad you've got some help now, the title made me laugh.

If you have Lunar Lakes, the school rabbithole will fit nicely on a 15x15 lot. You could always use the world editor to add a 15x15 community lot and plop the rabbithole onto it. Then, you could continue to play the game that your mother was playing and the kids will have a school.

Lol, I suppose that would be annoying. xD I'd have to have two computers in the house. My bf and I often play games together, but he's mainly a console gamer, and I play my PC. He has his own computer, too, though. Soon after I move in a few weeks, my best friend is going to be living right next to me again, so she'll probably be over all the time to sim with me. ^_^

Just bulldoze whatever she's built and put the school back. It can be found as one of several pre-made objects in Build Mode under "Community Lots" - the icon looks like a little shop window with an awning. You'll probably have to change the lot type back first though.

Um you could place a school. I do it all the time so I can have the school that's also a stadium so I can have the 60x60 lot that the actaul stadium is on.


You just switch a big enough lot to a comunity lot with no visitor then go onto build mode on it. On build mode there should be something that says community objects or something like that. Look through that and you'll find some buildings(rabitholes) along with some other stuff. A few of them should be different schools.

You just place the school and then decorate around it. I like adding a play ground. Then just exist and it automatically becomes a school.

I don't know why people are telling you that you need a new save. All you have to do is save a copy of her house to your bin on the edit town screen and edit that lot and add a school and problem solved!!!

Others have already told you this, but I will put my 2 simolean's worth:

You do not need to create a new game, nor do you need to bulldoze your mother's home. Depending on what town you are in, find a nice say, 30x40 lot, zone it as a Community Lot/No Visitors Allowd.

Then go to build mode, click on the little building that has the awning on it. You will see a lot of rabbitholes. Find one that is a school building. The schools for all the towns are there. Pick the one you want and plop it in the 30x40 lot. Then, as someone else said, you can decorate the grounds to your taste.

One more thing...you know that little tablet icon that is in the pop-up when you're looking at a lot? Well, you can edit the name of your school there, so you can name it whatever you want, and the game will recognize it.

Good job Mom! Now the kids don't have to go to school.

Or you could go to Mod the Sims and get a non-rabbithole school and put it on a different lot and you will have your MUM's house and a school that you can actually use! That's what I would do.
