Hey guys,

I don't have a lot of time this week but lets try to keep the number of posts on this new patch to a minimum.

I'll try updating the second post with findings but you can also post here should you find something fixed/new: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/545160.page

Make sure you remove your mods and backup your stuff.

Here are a few tips: What to do before patching

Also make sure to follow these tips before posting: How to post in the technical forum - A little guide

Patch notes are boring, so I'm not going to post them here.

To get the patch through the launcher, make sure your Origin is updated.

If you don't plan on buying the Katy Perry Stuff Pack, I would recommend to wait until more info is available.

Patch Links
(Thanks to SimsVIP for the links)

Manual Patch links are here. If you download the incremental one, make sure you got the right region (last two digits of the base game version). Only download one of these patches.

The incremental patches are from 1.33 only.

Super Patch (All Regions)

Incremental Patch, Region 1 (USA)
Incremental Patch, Region 2 (Europe, Australia & rest of the world)
Incremental Patch, Region 3 (Asia)
Incremental Patch, Region 5 (Japan)
Incremental Patch, Region 17 (Digital Game Version)

ATM it's unclear if the Super Patch Issue is fixed or not. Checking in my game it does seem to be but I need further verification from ellacharm3d.

Mods

Most mods are still compatible. Please update any CoreMods you might have like ErrorTrap and Awesome Mod.

Please let me know if you know of any mods that needed updating.

Please report here

DxDiag

To gather a DxDiag on your computer, please follow the steps below:

If you have Microsoft Windows XP:
1. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
2. Select Run.
3. Type dxdiag in the available text field.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Save All Information.

If you have Windows Vista/Win 7 and do not have a Run selection:

1. Click On Start
2 Type dxdiag into Search Box
3. Click Save All Information.

Note: It is best to save the DxDiag file to the desktop or another easy located location so it can be quickly referenced when contacting Customer Support.

Good Luck everyone

--copied from thread I started--

So - I don't know if anyone else has had this problem yet, but I just installed update 1.34 and I have already encountered a glitch - no, not the dreaded code 12/13 or even a game crash.

I played a household for about 10 mins and then decided to switch active households and the sims and sim panel of the previous household followed me to the current active house which means that I can not control my new active sim, nor can I see their needs, relationships, traits - nothing.

I've tried reseting all sims and no luck. Unfourtunatly I had saved the last house so even when I go back into the last save the problem still exsists.

Did you both make sure to remove all custom content and mods ?

For the File not found error I recommend using the Superpatch instead of the launcher. I've added the links to the first post. It's 962 MB though.

@roundedbluecube: Try restarting the game.

No, it doesn't remove the launcher. It just bypasses the launcher to patch. Make sure to backup your user data.

No. You won't go into the game. You will download the patch through the link. Then double click on the downloaded file to install it. When it's done updating, you can start the launcher and start the game the usual way

Crinrict,
Sorry for my stupidity - I am at 1.31, Is it better to patch through the launcher or the link you provided? OR do I need to go to patch 1.33 first?

I honestly do not understand incremental vs super patch.

Thanks for your help

Do you plan on getting the EP ? If not, I would just wait a couple days (unless you have a lot of problems or want to be a guinea pig)

Crinrict, I plan on waiting to see what is going on (I just merged lots of files lol) so of course as soon as I "get with the program" they would do that lol

I will wait til it's all clear so my Mods and CC will be okay.

I did not preorder, but will pick it up for $18 at Target tomorrow.

For now I will take your advice a wait.

Could you tell me what I am waiting for? To see if it is bug free?

No mods or cc here

Thanks, saw what you added - no guinea pig here!

Problem SOLVED

It seems that Laucher updater sometimes installs patch in default Origin folder"C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims3" folder instead of in your custom Origin games folder.

If you tried to update game, and get "File not found" error, you need to restore registry entries. If you didn't try to update game go to step 2.
1. Run regedit.exe and find all "c:\Program Files\Origin Games" on x86 systems or "c:\Program Files (x64)\Origin Games" on x64 systems.
Change all beginnings of paths to your custom Origin games folder. In my case "D:\Origin\Games". Remember to leave rest of path intact, eg. "D:\Origin\Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe"

2. Copy "The Sims3" folder from your Origin games folder to default C:\Program Files\Origin Games"
3. Run Launcher and update game, it should finish OK. Close Launcher and Origin app.
4. Repeat step 1.
5. Copy "The Sims3" from "C:\Program Files\Origin Games" to your Origin games folder.
6. Run Sims3, laucher shoud say 016037 version.
