As much as I like it , even on sale its 1600 simpoints , whereas the slot machine and poker table are 500 simpoints apiece, is 600 a good price for a lot with.. 7 unique items? and also regular price is 1900 points.. almost as much as a stuff pack ! So my question is do those who have bought it feel they got their "points" worth? does it at least have any new wallpapers or floors? I am really having a hard time deciding if I want to use most of my points on this as it would only leave me with about 700 or so

Well I thought the same thing as you, but I finally broke down and bought the casino. I had 2000 points plus now I only have 600. If you can wait for the items to go up individualy then do so. I am sorry I bought it, but I was inpatient. I still like it but I already have the Arcade and you can use that for a casino. Then you can just buy the other items the table and slot machine. There are plenty of fountains in the game to use the fountain is not that great and neither are the tables and chairs we have them already. If you still want it then go for it.

It was expensive, but I'm glad I got it. It works for me because there is no way I could have built a casino that I like as much as this one. A lot of people will make great casinos to put the gambling stuff in, but I had one bad CC lot from the exchange and am hesitant to use it any more.

If you are a good builder, or don't mind using lots from the exchange, you may want to wait and just buy the premium content by itself. I highly recommend the 2 premium content items they are my favorites by far, after the baby swing.

On the price, when I the compared the KP stuff pack, on sale at Target for $18, with this one, which is close to the same price for me, I like this one much, much more. But then I know I wouldn't get the same use out of the KP items.

Edit to add: I will say that I think the other items in the set are much cuter in game than they appear in the store pics.

I like the premium stuff because it adds more entertainment for people whom have showtime or late night expansions. gives the players more depth to create awesome lots. and also with the las vegas store items, it give me as a builder much creativity room to work with.

Candy8 , I know what you mean about being impatient! I'm right about where you were , I think I have about 2300 so 1600 is a large chunk .I take it that means no new wallpaper or floors then , thank you for your reply

SM , I love to build actually . I used to build for Sims2 on the simsgamers site. I can relate to not wanting to DL after getting a bad one (thats why I rarely use CC on my lots). The babyswing is fantastic and I know I will love the slots and probably the BlackJack / poker tables too . The store pics never do justice to the items.. it would help if they didnt use such drab colors too LOL thanks for your reply

I just hate that venue sets never have the decor objects available separately. I like the windows and the columns and the sign, but I'm not sure about the rest of it. Plus, I'm a builder, so I'm going to build my own casino anyway - I don't need the lot. I'd consider buying the PC individually if I knew I could get the columns and such on DD later, but I don't want to buy them individually and then end up re-buying them in the set during December's 90% off sales. Just not sure what I want to do.

I got it, and combined with Showtime, Late Night, and the Viva Las Vegas sets its SOOOOO worth it!!! It adds so much entertainment to the game! Watching your sims lose everything.

M&L , gah! I didnt even think of that:-S I do love the windows.. but the 3 story column is really the only other "unique" item ( what no doors to match the cool window??) the stool & bar are at least similar to existing objects . I may just wait & see if it goes on DD like LL did last w/e (it was like 600 pts or so) otherwise I will probably just get the PC.

If you're not a builder, you're cool with the extra CC offered, and you like the 2 PC items, then I say it IS a good deal, cuz technically at $16 you're getting 2 PC for $10, and consider the venue and additional $5 (another PC item, more or less), and the other 8 objects included all add up to $1. So either get it now while it's at least discounted (before the price spikes back up again to $20 (which to me is rather bogus--Stuff Packs come with So much more for the same amount)), or wait for a DD and see if you can maybe get it cheaper a few months later.

But if you're a builder who: doesn't need/like the new new venue, is none to jazzed about the extra CC items, and really is just interested in the 2 PC items, then no, at $16 it's not a good deal. I'm waiting for the 2 PC items to go up individually--gambling is cool and that's all I personally am really interested in.

I think it sucks, though, that venue sets never sell the extra CC individually. Gothique Library is holding a candelabra HOSTAGE in that set, and I feel like Kevin Spacey in the Negotiator, trying to get that poor little hostage out of the building!

I think its too much. I played legos a ton as a kid. To me this set seems like a lego set with very few pieces that is way over priced. Then getting the casino venue is like having to pay more because the legos set comes already built...

I dont want to pay for an octopus sign, id rather make my own fountain than use the one it comes with, Im not a fan of the windows that look like they are from the 70's. The only thing I like in the set (besides the premium stuff) is the bar stool. (for some reason i find that i really like chairs and doors, idk...)

Another thing i look at when i buy store conten is how much use ill get from the item. This stuff is practical for one lot. I dont think too many people are going to throw any of this stuff in their sims home. IMO 16 - 19 bucks is not worth it for 1 lot.

I'll wait for the slot machines and card table to be sold individually, in the meantime i'll imagine what im going to build once i get them.

Just my oppinion!

Another thing I'd like to add is that i feel the venue is kind of generic. If you look at casinos, the great ones are shaped like castles or famous land marks or even pyramids! This venue is just rectangle rooms and a pool.... and an octopus sign...

I'd really like to see the store team pick up their game and make cooler lots, I mean, c'mon this is the official store team! WOW US!!!!

How cool would it be if they made a Donald trump style mega casino with an awesome sims related theme then we could use our imagination to make other casinos (like with the store castle set) to put next to it and make a little strip of casinos?

If the store team put in a little effort to make better venues then It could inspire us to buy more content to make awesome themed lots. (heck, it might even give me a reason to buy sweet treats and make a sweet treat style casino - or even better, if they added roller coasters, rides, and games, a sweet treat style theme park with a sweet treat casino right next to it! and a sweet treat water park...)

Im thinking I will wait for a sale or DD for this. I like the PC for sure and the windows I think the bar should at least have the suits on the front or options for each suit (heart/spade/club/diamond) do the lots ever go on sale/DD?

ROFL@ the negotiator reference !
