If you have lag issues with Sunlit Tides, check the Relaxation Station lot (on top of the mountain). It's another bang-up job by EA and sims get stuck there. The LGR review of Sunlit Tides even shows a kid stuck in the spot where sims get stuck

Anyways, don't be swayed by the looks of the lot--just delete it and you'll be glad you did! Build something better there.

EDIT: Some other lots that have caused lag issues for some players include:

  • Starfish Sands Playground

  • Jungle Fishing spot

  • Pleasant View Park

  • Some replacement lots have been made available by players.

I have stuck fireman on my lot also in Sunlit Tides so I feel your pain. I was using a telescope and had a comet hit then my game locked up for a bit then finally it released. Then I called the fire department and they came out and never left. So I have a fireman stuck on my property and the fire truck is stuck in front of my home. I hope they fix this.

If your buying Simpoints for the firt time and want to use my refer-a-friend then please go to this link: http://store.thesims3.com/ref.html?persona=Karrterr

Open the cheat code box and type "resetsim *" to unstick all stuck sims. But definitely delete the Relaxation Station lot, as it's totally useless and just causes trouble. Plus it's prime realestate, so long as you build something that isn't glitchy like EA's lot.

What specifically makes them get stuck?

It has some nice views though and I use the lot to send my sims on a honeymoon there. You can set it to no visitors allowed and just use it for your sims.

Once a sim has gone to the lot and you want them to leave, they try to walk down the hill and they get stuck and can't go anywhere.

You can see it in the LGR review at 14:10. Here's a screenshot from the review (I already deleted the buggy lot from my game).

That spot where the kid is stuck is where sims get stuck.

There must be some way to fix this lot. I'll have to look into it tonight when I get home.

Karrterr I had a firefighter and firetruck stuck in front of my house in Riverview just a week ago. Awk.

Thanks for the warning about that lot.

My sims didn't get stuck trying to leave but if they do you can cheat and teleport them to the right location.

I've seen sims getting stuck between the front of their house and the plants decorating the front. I've had to reset multiple sims at multiple houses already and I've only been playing for 2 sim days, mostly just giving makeovers to sims and their houses and adding necessary community lots.

Any chance this could be fixed with a store patch?

The main problem is townies getting stuck there. Yes, you can change it to no visitors allowed, and that would also stop the problem. Resetting the sims that get stuck is a good remedy if it happens.

I just wanted to let people know because I started experiencing lag in Sunlit Tides yesterday and my computer never had lag issues with the game at all before! It was quite frustrating because every other minute the game would freeze completely for up to 30 seconds at a time and it was unplayable. I was having the darndest time finding out what the problem was until today when I discovered the stuck sim on that lot and my sim got stuck there too. (She was out photographing things and that's a great vantage point for scenic photos!)

I really wanted to let people know about it because other people will experience lag sooner or later if they don't change the lot type or get rid of it. To me, it seems like a perfect reason to delete the lot and build something better in that amazing spot

Which houses have caused this issue in your game? I'll have to check those as well!

I don't think it can be fixed with a store patch because the issue is probably caused by the new trees. There are two new trees that look like they ought to be bushes but they are categorized as trees, making it so sims cannot walk through them like they do with bushes.

When building lots, it's nice to use moveobjects for landscaping so you can get the plants closer together, but it can cause issues with routing if you're not careful.

enkeli, Thanks for that info. I will definitely go check that out. I also agree it would make a better house lot for say a writer or painter or other artist that doesn't care for a lot of company for sure, as I sort of hate to make a community lot no visitors - so I will probably just change that to residential and change it up a bit.

Anyway - again thanks for letting us know. I appreciate it for sure. Like you I rarely get lag, so it would drive me batty trying to find the source had I gotten any.

I wonder if it's the way the lot is built causing the problem. Something I want to test when I edit the world.
