And now (1-4th november) I'm at GAMEX = a huuuuuuge gaming .... event sort of, and I'm there working in the The Sims booth so we have Seasons fired up on 4 laptops nonstop! It's so awesome! Can't wait for the 15th when we get it here in Sweden \(^O^)/ will add all extra things I notice from playing whenever there's no queue sooner or later ^^ it's ending on sunday so on monday I'll probably try to sum what I've found up and add as well

xD It's so awesome! -super tired but so excited-
Winter coverage is EMBARGOED until – Friday 2nd November 0800GMT / 0900CET
- ice skating is a hidden skill, like the driver’s license, and won’t show but it’s in “3 levels” forming a whole full “skill cylinder” that will hover over the skater’s head. At first the sim is unsure, later on it’ll have mastered spinning/pirouette and later on when “mastering ice skating” also being able to go backwards. Struck me now I didn’t check if roller skating and ice skating skill were the same, so if you know one you then also know the other.
- some sims, like Gunther didn’t get ice skates showing when giving it a go, but the another got neat looking ones immediately
- holiday lights – not sure how to make it happen. Tried clicking roof, lot, sims etc
- winter gnome = white dressed gnome with a pointy carrot nose
- frost/snow will accumulate on windows
- when making snow angels sim can crash down head first turned down to the ground
- frozen sims on the edge of freezing to death can be warmed up/saved by “thawing hand”
- snowman – alien, normal, evil, hockey, …and 2 or 3 more versions that might come up depending a bit on traits it seems. Click snowy ground and just make one, same with the snowangel and snowball fights etc.
The small amount of
Halloween coverage here then:
Halloween coverage is EMBARGOED until – Friday 19th October 0800GMT / 0900CET
fall = a witch gnome (YAY!) with pale-ish green skin, pointy hat, broom and all. A fellow simmer got one the proper way when she was trick-or-treating
-trick-or-treating = a kid clicks a neighbor’s home during fall and choose to do so, will then bring a pumpkin basket (sort of) and get sweets and other nice things.
- carving pumpkins into evil, traditional, cat, ghost and “playfully silly” shapes, can light, watch and crush with feet
- festival tickets can be turned in to the season specific booths/items, haunted house (!!!) or a pie eating table are 100 festival tokens and a face painting or apple bobbing thing are 50, and in the same fashion with the other seasons. Will be gotten from eating contests, applebobbing (even when alone) etc
What I learned about ALIENS, which was all new to me then:
- new bodysliders for alien creation, but we’ll Not be able to create aliens directly in CAS as it seemed by the answers, the future can’t be spoken of (LOL) so who knows
I played around with testingcheats and found a nice option “create->alien->*age*->*gender*” and –poof- that sort of alien got added to the household. Aliens look AWESOME. They’re darkish greengrey in skintone, has _light_ purplish lips, a really neat complexion, pointy wriggled/curved/bent (?) ears, black smooth shiny eyes, thin nose, though not the super shrunken one from TS2.
They can click on other sims and….
- scan = takes out a technological oozing disc and proceeds sort of like with the doctor xray examination thing from Ambitions
- “biostimulate” and of course then also “biodrain” = fancy effect with orangey light by their eyes and a ray of swirling “DNA-shaped” blueish lines shoots out to the target sim and if draining the sim will get a 1hour moodlet saying “things suddenly got so struggly” sort of, and the opposite with stimulation.
- probe = takes out a device that looks like the most scary looking pocket knife weapon thing ever, with Edward Scissorhands+all kinds of sci-fi claws/cutters/ disc saw and so on, waves it ominously around by the target sim and then it poofed out failing showing a rubber ducky and a feather.
If they clock on themselves:
- scan object = like scanning sim sort of
- reset brain capacity = “sleeping”, since brain capacity is their equivalence to energy. They’ll sit down or lie down on their pool lounge or whatever and interesting bluerange colored symbols appear and light blue “lights” there like swooshing around in the air sucking the cloud of weird symbols around/into/out of their brain
More info:
- other than the brain capacity their remaining needs seems to be like normal sims
- no special food for them showed when clicking around in the fridge
-They will randomely just begin to scan something.
-They’re extra likely to create the alien snowman
Their space ship! Found in buydebug, and it’s hovering
Looks AWESOME. You can click it and choose
- “create storm” = starts snowing etc when I tried
- “abduct sim” = you get to choose who to abduct (I chose Agnes Crumplebottom) and the ship with your vicious sim in teleports off to the place the target is, and the air starts glimmering, the sim comes out, drawn to the strange happenings and get sucked up by greenish light, and then you’re off, landing safely at your home lot where you now are standing socializing with the abducted sim
- “invade commercial lot” if having upgraded the laser cannons (even level 3 in handiness is enough, might be even less) and then you fly/teleport the ship to that lot where it hovers/teleports around the edges, sims gather and panic spreads and the ship starts shooting lasers and there’s an awesome music playing meanwhile…
- “go to…moon/the big asteroid belt/the planet Sixam” if you’ve upgraded space travelling (handiness level 5 is enough, might do with 4). You’ll then have your sim go off in the ship and have a time machine experience sort of with nice text messages in the upper right corner and might bring stuff back home. Didn’t get to try more than twice so don’t know what “special items” might lurk there.
Unfortunately the two upgrades can’t be made in the same spaceship, so you’d have to have two ships in order to do it all.
By now though most has been shown/known... lol. Ah well. That they come in all ages, look adorable, that the upgrades can't be done to the same ship, handiness level for upgrading and some small new details might be new still?
And I want to take the opportunity just to thank EA/whoever is most in charge of letting me come..

I love it and it was awesome! And Graham was so nice....!
So the event was like this:
-arrive outside of Grönalund and meet up with fellow simmers and have a great time until the doors were opened
-rush in at a few minutes after 11:00 and admire the cosiness of the room I'd only seen on TV where they shoot some of the RAW episodes, it's like a "stage" and seats and in the middle there were two long tables with laptops.
-first "where shall you sit...?", spotted the enormous banners of Seasons and Supernatural hanging over the tables and saw a hotdog suit on every screen below the Seasons banner -> had to sit close by those laptops...

and so I did. So after the neat little presentation taking around 30 minutes I moved not even a meter and parked at the chair by a Seasons laptop
- the laptop/game/demo was in some sort of hyper cheat mode so testingcheats had waaaay more options than it usually has = awesome when having limited time so I had a blast with that and tried to see all things I wanted to.
- 2-3 hours later it was time to let someone else have a go and it was just sort of mingle and checking on buddies who had a computer right then, and some goofing off by the SN laptops and popcorns and so on...

really nice ^^
-somwhere now there Graham held a great presentation with Seasons and Supernatural combined revealing nice cross features...
- later I and the SimGoodie guy got a free laptop and tried some last minute things, though that laptop had a "normal" cheat span, so there wasn't much one could do+ it was crashing nonstop and then got a brainfreeze
-lastly there was a Q&A with Graham = best part...
-aaaand I and some others lingered and talked some more until we were pushed out into Grönalund and heading for the Spooky House there which we'd gotten tickets to = awesome, so a whole bunch from the old swedish official (now dead) site went together.
Since the entrance fee was already "solved" since we were let out inside the amusement park some kept on riding everything until late night, and it was time to head home...
The Sims (SE) on facebook posted a few pics on their wall and some in an album and one from outside shows me clearly...

check for 95 cm orangeblondegoldred hair and you've got me.
These are the things I put down in the middle of the night in a new word document when I came home, but there might be more things I remember/didn't think of putting in there. Beforehand we'd been told we would get to take pics, but that was changed when we got there, so I took notes as fast as I could, though it'd been soooo much more convenient to just take pics of the text...Anyway. Enjoy!
The SimGoodie thingy -> http://simgoodies.com/guru/spesial/de-fire-arstider-stockholm/ READ. ^^
When the upcoming 3 other embargoes are lifted I'll add the remaining things I saw here.
If anything should be secret still, let me know asap so it can be censored... xD
1st embargo lift = excluding all about winter+related activites?+fall+related activites?+aliens:
All coverage from this tour is EMBARGOED until – Wednesday 19th September 0800GMT / 0900CET
- can get vaccination for the flu
-send love letter via mailbox – the sim will get to choose any eligible sim they know in the neighborhood and will go write a letter and supposedly post it. Seemed to be bugged, since they never got anywhere after the writing. One –highlyinterestingsim- I had only had one receiver to choose = the Grim Reaper… xD
- Fifth gnome is an evil gnome! Flames and trident if not remembering wrong (might be confused about another evil item where it’ll be cold)
- the sand castle building seems to be left exclusive for Generations
- no mermaids seem to be present in the sea, though Graham can’t ever mention anything about future stuff…
- there’s a new hot tub, grill, flower lamps, a gate, 2 windows, 3 doors, 1 arch and looooots of stuff like more lamps and assorted normal furniture and such. The mermaid statue we saw on the exchange is tiny, and would even fit into an insect terrarium.
- blueprints are like layouts shaped/sized like a room but like a blueprint paper, you place them and choose to make real and they plop up into actual rooms and furniture. There were numerous blueprints ready for each of the “room categories” seen in buy mode.
- wildflowers I saw:
buckwheat flower
Azalea
sweet-william
blue flax
daisy
(gotta’ use latin here) Cosmos bipinnatus
and what in my notes looks like “mdbeckia” in Swedish xD
The wildflowers were not listed anywhere in the collection journal (which was available in the demo) when checking to see if there would be more types. You pull them out of the inventory and they’ll get an automated vase
- Only new unique death+ghost type: freezing to death, they will be lying down frozen and crack up with blueish snowflakey lights and the ghost is white with light greenblueish edge tinting, like a mild thing with the jellybeanghost, but just the very edge of the frozen to death ghost has that tint. The tombstone is moderately dark and bluegrey, with snowflakes and “wind” as a plaque. One can die by being struck by lightning, so that’s a new way to die but you’ll have a electrocution ghost+tombstone. Didn’t check but suspect the combusting might lead to fire ghosts. The reason for no drowning in the sea is that the Reaper can’t appear outside of lots = sims can’t die outside of lots, or there’d be some technical massive work to do.
- were able to click indoors floor and choose “have water balloon fight”
- there’s visible “breath” showing when it’s really cold outside (and since it can be cold no matter which season due to various reasons this is not a winter thing, right?)
- if it starts raining when they’re floating on the pool lounge in the sea they jump off and get to shore to pull up their umbrellas
- the wind is both sounding/howling and showing since it’s a noticeable difference in how the trees etc move
- In options menu you can (de)activate hail, rain, snow and fog if you wish, separately
- online dating: you create an online profile on a computer, fill in astrological sign, traits, favorites and something (sorry forgot to check, saw it blurred in the lessons), and you can browse all other profiles and send messages, check your messages and can try to call/meet with their interesting find, but if you’ve lied when setting up your profile you might get a shocked/perhaps bad reaction when you do meet
- at the sims’ portrait there’s a season symbol showing what season it is, what temperature atm and days until next season
LTW rewards:
-immune to heat - 5000
-immune to cold - 5000
- festival regular – 5000 = will win more and get some money off when buying stuff from food stands and such
- competitive eater – 5000 = succeed better in eating contests
- cloud creator 9000 – 5000 = can shoot rain- or snow cloud at a sim and that sim will then get “chased”/pursued by a cloud dropping rain or snow and the sim will scream/run/try to get away
- super immunity – 10 000 = can’t get sick/allergic/nauseous
- Dr F’s Climatron control unit – 10 000 = decide weather, rain, snow, fog, hail, sun
- all weather champion – 10 000 = natural talent in seasonal activities like snowboarding, ice skating, soccer, snowball fights etc
- some really interesting “prizes” in buydebug
- take a “congratulation card” in the photo tent, it’s a really beautiful season specific setting your sim gets implemented in and you get a square (almost) cute picture to hang on the wall, perhaps the frame is just almost as “high” as the little cowplant
- festival tickets can be turned in at the food stands to the season specific booths/items, then it was bunches of 50 or 100/item, and eh.. here the different embargoes kick in..
- no sunscreen at all
- might be more outfits in the actual game, especially “hats” suitable for outerwear. There wasn’t a whole lot of CAS items in the demo at all, but a few, but it was currently then being worked on so there “should” be more in the final product
- neighborhood specific lighting is like the base, then Seasons/weather will go in and like work “on top” of it with how it works, so all neighborhoods won’t have the same “feel to them” due to eliminating unique lighting/skies.
- certain outfits like job clothes or the werewolves’ transformed state and others will be exceptional from the normal “this and that type of outfit will freeze then and yattayatta”
- pets won’t be available to swim in sea etc
- there’s no swimming in ponds on lots due to horrible routing and unpredictable stuff connected to the shape of the bottom in ponds etc, especially on “player made” lots, and how the sim will swim around and the depth and so on complicated matters too far, sort of
- no beach towels included, and it’s too late to put some in now
- the diving board came so late because it didn’t make the cut with “does it fit with this theme” sort of, but has been proposed to get added for quite some time
Seasons+SN
- parasol will keep vampires safe from sunlight without any sparkling
- weres “jump/crawl” around on roller-skating rink and a vamp ran around with his parasol in a blur
- zombies will not be eating wildflowers
- zombies probably will be able to attack/eat hibernated plants (since something with them having fruit wasn’t tied to the hibernation or plant itself and zombies go after one or the other or how it was, some sort of explanation at least going along those lines)
- you can Not change the order of the seasons, just deactivate. But you might be able to swap to wanted season with testingcheats, though not sure if it’ll be included in the final version.
and oh! forgot to put it in..? The two new traits: loves cold and loves heat, and you can have both for the same sim, since why'd it be so strange to love both temperatures?
