szwendo schrieb:People relax, every1 have same problem, its cause of new patch 1,7 ..... this patch is making problems with graphic cards, i checked it on 4 computers, also i send msg to EA and they wrote me they have few problems with new patch so sorry blablabla, after new patch should be again all normal, but now a question is when they will give us this patch

sorry for my english im polish so its not so good how it should be xD

This actually started happening long before patch 1.7. This patch might be causing additional problems but it's not the problem with this particular graphics driver.

NVIDIA GeForce 6800 - been playing SIMS3 since relase and installed 1.7 patch! Crashed to blue screen. System restore - crashed to blue screen. I did everything possible and eventually had to do a PC restore. Despite backup it seems I've lost my 8th gen Legacy family, all my custom content (keep getting error on download manager), and my backed up files won't restore so I've lost 5 years worth of data.
I have SIMS3 up and running again, but now there's no point.

Meppelink5 schrieb:I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT, and I updated it last month, is that what's causing my game to crash? If so, is there any way I can "undo" the update?
That is the same one I have. But I don't know if that is what's causing my messed up pictures in game. I can play for a while then the game will freeze for a min. Then when it starts again the...Fabrics and wallpapers and stuff..are all weird looking. Even my sims will change. The only way I can "fix" it is to close the window and re-open it. But in a couple mins it happens again..and again..I have taken many pictures and have uploaded them to my profile if you want to take a look.

Replying to the post above mine; I have both and am having problems, as stated above.

so im not good with technology and im trying to figure out what you guys are talking about. when you update sims and it messes things up? cus ive been doing those and ever since i started updating it little things have been going wrong. like my person would freeze every minute or so, then go back to what they were doing. then the whole game would freeze and i couldn't do anything. now, when i load it and am loading the game i want to play, the game loads without the thing at the bottom of the screen that you use to change characters, and switch floors, and change modes, and do everything. so i can load the game, but i cant actually play.
why is that? i don't know how to fix it.

I updated my drivers (downloaded 195.62 WHQL for notebook computer) but it didn't seem to fix the problem because I still got crashes to the desktop. HOWEVER it did make my game faster and extended the period before it crashed. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks!

i always keep my s3 disk in my drive and after i dl'd the new driver my desktop went ape on me. it would flash black, back and forth, and i could barely use my mouse, if at all. i'm assuming it's because when the sims wants to auto start every time xp boots up. i was actually able to get into ts3 during this time but the text would be all messed up and the whole thing would just flicker constantly. i tried starting it up muliple times before but got the infamous blue screen. i've since rolled back my drivers, but holy man did that give me a scare. i thought i needed a new comp!!!

I had not played the Sims 3 in months and I just went to play it and it installed the latest patch. Sadly, the game now crashes during the loading of the game world right after I select my family or create a new game. The loading bar does not even get 10% in before it crashes to the desktop. I use an nVidia 8800GT and Windows Vista 64, have installed the latest patch and have also rolled back several times with no success.

Getting very agitated.

SimGuru_BGY_11 schrieb:The latest driver update for NVIDIA video cards (191.07) has an apparent conflict with The Sims 3. Your game may not run properly (or at all) if you're using these drivers.

Until a more permanent solution becomes available, we recommend reverting to an older release of the NVIDIA drivers to ensure that The Sims 3 runs smoothly.

It's all well and good to blame this problem on the Nvidia drivers but I don't believe this is the only reason the game crashes. I have had problems with the game crashing since I first installed it. My system came with an ATI video card and the game crashed. So I recently (within the last week) installed a Nvidia GTS 250 (per recommendations in the readme file for Sims 3) the game still crashed. I downloaded and installed the Nvidia drivers for my Vista 64-bit OS and guess what? The game still crashed. Thinking the game needed to reconfigure itself for the new hardware, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and IT STILL CRASHES. I'm sorry but this is getting very frustrating. I have not ever received an error message when this occurs, just one minute the game is running and the next I'm looking at my desktop with no explanation at all.

Also frustrating is the fact that (when I do get to play) my sims no longer complete paintings. With the installation of WA sims are stuck in the painting animations but the paintings never become complete unless you stop the sim then have them continue painting two or three times. And one more thing, you can no longer hang sim paintings on the wall because they disappear but are still taking up space (you can't put anything else there) and to get rid of it you have to delete the wall and rebuild it.

I don't mean to be rude or a whiner, but PLEASE HIRE SOME TESTERS AND HAVE THEM ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME BEFORE YOU RELEASE IT. I have a basic Gateway tri-core with Vista 64-bit operating system and until recently (when I put in the new graphics card) it was as/is from the factory. Most people buy computers and expect that they will run whatever software they put on them, so why can't you just buy some basic computers and test the game on them. Then try to come up with a "happy medium" patch that will make the game work at least passably well on all of them.

I'm a Sims fan, I have all three games and I was so excited and hopeful about Sims 3 that I ran out and bought it the minute it hit the shelves, literally, I was there when they put the first box on the shelf at midnight and I grabbed it and headed for the checkout stand, lol.

Please help with my problems if you can, I would really like to be able to play with Sims 3.

I've been trying for the last few days to find out why my game keeps crashing to the desktop, for the most part it is random, but ANY time I try to save the game, it crashes to desktop. I did try to uninstall the driver and reinstall the 190.62 on my GeForce 8500 GT, but it's still having the exact same problem. It was letting me save for a while yesterday, and now it hasn't since my last save point.

I'm starting to agree with ridBonnie though... Maybe it has to do with the driver or the NVIDIA cards, but really, it's probably a game issue, since the suggested fixes are NOT working! I'm not trying to point fingers or anything, I just want to play my game.

It seems like this problem has been going on for a while, and there needs to be a real fix for this ASAP.
