Also op did you get to test the 3 open venues, or even build some for yourself? I don't really know what kind of gamer you are, but that was also something i noticed you hadn't mentioned yet. Believe it or not but interactive content can bring quite a lot of gameplay to the player. So you should consider that as well before you decide. As their are many elements in this ep that you can use to go beyond just having a expansion about superstar careers.

For example your town can now have a teen hang out that is a video game arcade.

You can now a circus community lot, if you have pets you can put exotic animals on that lot.

You can now have a carnival lot, lots of games and fun things to do now

The coffee house. Could also be book club, poetry club, etc.

You can now make something like a rave, or improve your regular club.

I'm just throwing ideas out there i know you said you mainly stay on the home lot when you play but i was a bit curious as to why you play like that. I was thinking the reason was there wasnt any really fun things for your sims to do in an open neighborhood lot. Well show time did add quite a lot of tools for the players to use to start opening up that neighborhood and making it fun to play.

>.< though i don't want to be spammed by notifications. O.o though i am spammed by it now, im still looking for the off switch for it lol.

As for the arcade we now have more objects to make it more diverse but didn't we already have objects to make arcades? Or am I thinking about the store items. I really like that we get new objects. They aren't that many though.

How would the circus thing work? I'm curious about this.

I don't have anything against Showtime's content my objection is that there aren't enough of it. It's s problem I have with most TS3 EPs by the way.

About the spam I just realized that you can log off your account right? Though some simmers like to stay connected while playing so I really hope you can turn off the notifications.

Well before you could only have a small amount of video games and things to do, but if you combine video game machines, the new skeeball thingy, the pinball machine from the store, the dart board from latenight, there's also the spinning machine now, and there is the new rock climbing thing also in the store so you can have a pretty fleshed out gaming area.

Well i have quite a bit imagination so the circus you can do by putting a small lot in the area and then a few small houses around the lot, that look like a circus buildings or tents. Then what you can do is make some sims put them in the acrobat career but dress them as clowns so that they do mediocre tricks. Then you can make some pets that fit a circus theme and exotic animals and they'll visit the lot. Lol and you can use the same new games to attract people a show stage for the clowns to perform. Gumball machine for treats. (really wish the popcorn and cotton candy machines were making its way back). It's small circus and something for a simmer to do.

Really when they start adding interactable content your sims game horizons broden even more because your open venues help to have more to do and you can express your imagination even more. Like I'm purely going to add just a karokee dance all for my world. If the coffee is a true venue than im going to do an internet cafe theme. Definetly adding a carnival to my town. The only thing i wish though is they allow subhood again so that we can make themed neighborhoods so that our sims can travel more. Which would be nice so that i'm not trying to squeeze all this stuff in to one neighborhood.

What about everyone else? Are you getting it?

Having also played the game at the London event (my avatar is accurate enough for you to recognise me I suspect) I have to say it had the opposite effect on me and I will now get it. Previously I felt that it would probably NOT have enough content and that too much emphasis would be on the social features.

I really liked some of the little things like the new lighting effect options and the fact that lots of the new objects can bring new life to existing community lots. Some of the every day clothes were really nice too. There was a lot to like besides just the show biz aspect, In fact that is important to me, I want to add to my game play even for those sims not actively playing out those professions. Some of the items will go well with Lunar Lakes which I also have. The prices have also fallen recently so all in all I really do think there is enough content to justify the cost for me. Of course, the game we played wasn't a final build but I hope that everything we saw will be included and that if anything there will only be items added, not taken away There were many aspects of the game I didn't get around to trying at all so I still have lots to look forward to come the release day.

that's some pretty amazing imagination! Now I'm thinking of building my own circus too I'm gonna add a magician show on that circus, probably throw in the mat with snake in a basket that you need to flute-out or something.. I hope EA can put up a ferris wheel in store. and some popcorn and cottoncandy too!

Wow! You're very creative. It's too bad we don't have that crazy bear from TS1, that would've been hilarious! Oh and the TS2 penguin was so adorable!

I still haven't decided yet. Most of the new stuff looks interesting, and reading through this thread does kind of make me want to get it more. But, I think this will be the first Sims 3 expansion I don't get on the first day. I'm going to wait for Lazy Game Reviewer's review of it and what you guys think of it, however, I won't be using the Sims Game port

I'm sorry you feel that way after playing twice. If it's not for someone, it's just not for someone; and hopefully the next expansion pack will interest you more.

As for me, even though, I haven't got to play it.. the information has me extremely interested, and I think I am going to love the Sing-A-Grams the most. Along with all the amazing objects that are making a return from the Sims 2 and the new things like the mechanical bull, etc. I cannot wait! I love that Sims can start out as Mimes, etc and try to make it big. I think that's soo cool, and I can't wait to see the new neighborhood, and play. I already have my two Sims that I'm going to play to rise to stardom.

Cannot wait. D: Only a few more weeks! *falls over with excitement*

It could be that there are no headphones because the sim is wearing those buds that fit into the ear, like alot of people in RL seem to be using now. Just a thought.

The mechanical bull was one of the first things I plopped down on a lot to try - actually I turned it into a mechanical zebra but the effect was just the same Much better than the version in the original Sims game.

It's cool seeing the mime doing the 'stuck in a box' and 'blowing in the wind' thing on the live demo but another thing entirely seeing them do it for yourself in the game, so funny and VERY well animated.

There are some cool potted plants with this too. They can be used anywhere and are just another of those little things that add up when you are creating the exact look you need.

Did anyone who went to the events think to check out if there were any new patterns or walls/floors? I meant to and then got caught up with something else and it went out of my head entirely.

Yes they are sims, they are the proprietors of the venues that you can audition for gigs.

Hi Hortensis! As you saw in my thread at the other forum I agree with you. I was very unsure of getting this EP but left the London event knowing I would get it. I checked quickly the walls/floors and didn't see any, but I may have missed them since it was such a fast glance (at that point I wasn't sure how many ppl would show up and whether we'd be able to play for all the hours we did.)
