Its a nice idea. it would be fun to see a sim sick aside from turning into a vamp or being pregnant.

That's pretty rude Wiz.....and I don't think you saw the word enjoyable any where in my post. I was pointing out that disease and death has been a part of Sims before. It is a life simulation game.....emphasis on the word game.
I think the
Simmers that love murdering their sims are being neglected.

"Simmers that love murdering..."
^Nuff said^
So if it's a game then why do you want diseases? Shouldn't that stay in real life where it belongs?
Also I wasn't being rude. Stating the truth. The truth hurts sometimes.

Diseases were in the Sims 2.Also Killing off a virtual person isn't wrong.I go on the sims to do things i normally would never do.Not to have things easy.

Wasn't the "flu" in the Sims like the common cold really? I wish they allowed us to take off of school and work.

I don't really enjoy murdering my sims. What I enjoyed was tormenting them...

So, out of curiosity, do you also think that people who enjoy first person shooters have something wrong with their brains? Or is it just simmers who kill their sims who are a little off?

Oh i had a little thought for this Idea. If you have a doctor sim they could also help treat people for the illness in the neighborhood. Also it be nice if the Mad LLama disease make sims break out in spots, like a weird color lol.

If I like the idea someone had of putting more use to the hospital. Let's say while you're getting treated you have to go for check ups to get better.

I think having illnesses (comical non realistic ones) in the Sims again would add a challenge.
They could be made as a toggle on/off feature in the gameplay options menu as well to give people choice.
I would so love to be able to phone the school and let the kids have a day off sick as well as the adults.
It would aslo be fun if your sim lied about being sick to get the day off and had a chance of being found out and docked a days pay or something as well.

I remember theme hospital illnesses and things along that line (humourous non upsetting) would be great. Like slack tongue, bloaty head etc but obviously within simming context.

Mad Llama disease, cowplant rash (breaking out in cowskin overlay), smustlers' knee (sporadically dancing the smustle) , Reticulated Spline (use your imagination)etc.

The list of illnesses from TS2

Food Poisoning

Symptoms – Vomiting, Nausea
Fatal? – Yes
Contagious – No

There is a 5% chance any time a Sim eats spoiled or burned food that the Sim will get food poisoning. This can occur if food spoils while a Sim is eating it.
Cold Edit

Symptoms – Coughing, Sneezing
Fatal? – No, but will become pneumonia if not cured within ten days
Contagious – Highly

There is a 1% chance any time a Sim goes to work or school that the Sim will catch a cold. Infected Sims will suffer from coughing and sneezing fits, causing drops in comfort.
Pneumonia

Symptoms – Coughing, Fatigue
Fatal? – Yes
Contagious – Slightly

If the cold is not cured within ten days it will turn into pneumonia. The pneumonia has all the symptoms of both the cold and the flu[confirmation needed], as well as sharp and sudden drops in energy in which a Sim appears to nearly pass out. If energy drops low enough, the Sim will pass out. Sims with pneumonia may die if not treated.
Flu Edit

Symptoms – Coughing, Diarrhea
Fatal? – Yes
Contagious – Highly

If a Sim goes near cockroaches, there is a 5% chance they will catch the flu. The flu has all the symptoms of a cold with sharp drops in fun and energy as well[confirmation needed].

When the Beaker household in Strangetown is first played , there will be cockroaches near the refrigerator. Both Loki and Nervous will go to stomp on them and are likely to catch the flu. It is best to cancel out this action before they get there, and call an exterminator.
Mysterious Disease

Symptoms – Two random symptoms.
Fatal? – Yes
Contagious – Extremely

Also known as "Virus", Sims can be infected with this when using the biotech station with low logic skill. It should be noted that this disease is highly contagious and can easily spread through the entire neighborhood in a matter of days.
Treatment
Rest

The best cure for all illnesses is rest. Keep the sick Sim away from healthy Sims, and keep their comfort and energy up by making them sleep and relax on the bed, until a message appears saying they are cured. If the Sim is able to meditate, this will also help.
Medicine

The medicine made with the biotech station cuts down the resting time needed to be cured of a sickness. Players who do not have either FreeTime (with up-to-date patches) or Apartment Life will need to get a mod from More Awesome Than You! for the medicine to work properly.
Orange Juice

If The Sims 2: Seasons is installed, drinking orange juice made from Tasty or Mouthwatering fruit will cure colds, or at least reduce the amount of time a Sim will need to rest.
Grandma's Comfort Soup

With The Sims 2: FreeTime installed, Sims with Family as their primary or secondary aspiration can achieve the aspiration benefit "Grandma's Comfort Soup". When eaten, it will cure any disease a Sim has. It is recommended to have AT LEAST one Family Sim in the household, whether it be the mom, butler (controllable), or Grandma, just in case one Sim has the "Unknown Virus" or any other small illness. It is the first benefit for the Family aspiration, so it should be quite easy to achieve.

Reticulated spline would be great for sims who've fallen recently. Some low random chance of getting it if sims fall of the rock climbing wall or the fire fighter's pole or trip as clumsy sims, maybe. They could kind of hobble around for a while, possibly in a cast or using a cane. It'd be like twisting your ankle or breaking a bone or something. And maybe a vaccine system for people who don't want sims getting diseases? Take a sim to the hospital at a young age and they're protected for life.

I would hate the idea of sims murdering each other...

But the sickness thing like food poisoning.... instead of sims being sick just a couple of time they could be rushed off to hospital for rehydration.... lol

I think people are misunderstanding what the OP said when he not talking about SIMS murdering SIMS. (Besides that would NEVER be allowed anyway its M rated) He's talking about people who love to kill their sims (ie. fire, drowning, starvation)
