I was looking on Grahams tweet and this caught my eye.

Graham Nardone ‏@SimGuruGraham
It replaces the Lexington home. RT @simorum Can you tell us where the festival grounds in Appaloosa Plains would be? No big parks there...

If you want the Lexington Home I suggest you copy it to the library before installing seasons so you can place it somewhere else.

My guess is that this lot will place like other lots when new Expansion packs are released. When we enter our world, we will probably get the option to *place* a lot. We can say no, then choose where we want to place the new Seasons lot from the Community lot bin.

I don't understand why they chose this lot. There's another 50x50 lot (empty) nearby. I hope we will be able to select seasonal lots from the bin so we can place them where we want.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted people to know there's no need to panic and rush out to save existing lots. Any lot that we're replacing with a festival lot will have the original version of the lot also available in the edit town lot bin.

That being said, if you've customized the lot that we intend to replace with a festival I would recommend saving that lot in advance should you want to continue using it somewhere. Further, the game will ask you if you want to replace any customized lot; it won't automatically overwrite one of your lots.

Thank you for that confirmation Graham, it answers the question I put to you on Twitter.

I do wonder though, would it be possible to have a list in advance of Seasons release giving the names of the lots that the festivals will use in each of the worlds? It would help to be prepared, especially if some of the lots concerned have been customised.

Nope, Appaloosa Plains is the only world where it replaces a residential lot. For those familiar with that world, you'll notice it doesn't really have any parks to replace (only animal variants, which are important for gameplay with specific pets in that world).

Just to note, the Lexington is an empty home lot, so no Sims are being removed from the world.
