Today I had to run my game CC free to locate a bit of bad CC, and that meant my wonderful mods had to be taken out as well.
And for the 2 hours I played CC-less, I was completly amazed at how bored I was without the mods! Without Story Progression, my town seemed lifeless, I couldn't visit other cities using the Traveler mod (it felt like I was boxed in!) and I had no Poseplayer, or smoking mod!

It was such a weird experience, it really was. The game is so..basic without them! They have altered my game so much and I just wonder how people play without them!

They can, Mods just enchant in-game experience.

I could do without all of them except Story progression. And maybe woohooer.

I'm sure those that do wonder why you need mods to play your game.

I have mods, so I can play my game. Without them I'd have been Sims 3-less about a year ago.

I played without Mods for the first 6 months after I got the game. It was fun, but like 10eliblue said, it enhances gameplay.

I think I would lose interest very quickly without Nraas mods. Nraas adds so much more to the experience of play, but the most important thing I dont get the fatal errors that corrupt my save. Without the mods the game can quickly become unplayable.

I think it must be near impossible to play a legacy without mods

It's actually not that bad. Then again I don't want to risk hurting my pc since it already got a BSOD. Wasn't able to play for a months .

I remember one time I clicked off the CC option in the Launcher by accident, and loaded the game. I was so surprised when everything was replaced with base game items. It was so dry and barren lol. But yeah, mods like Nraas is also a game saver especially SP.

Believe it or not, fairly easily. I sometimes play with mods and sometimes without mods. I'll go for mods if I'm looking for something that the game doesn't do on it's own, but I need or want it to for a story.

I installed woohooer recently. I wanted to use it for a story for my blog, but installed the wrong one for the patch version, so by the time I discovered this and got it working correctly the bit I wanted woohooer for was actually passed. I decided, as it'd taken me all day to work out what had gone wrong and why, to keep the mod.

When it next comes time to patch, which will likely be soon, I'll decide whether I should keep the mod or not.

I don't normally want the mods for anything radical so most times my game is vanilla, barring store content.

To err is human. To blame a computer is even more human.

I always play without mods.

Today, after reading here about the nraas story progression mods I installed it and am going to try it now for the first time. Will come back to say what I thought :p

I have no clue what other mods are there and what they do. Will have to find out in case I like this one.

It's hard for me not to use the SP from Twallan..but I constantly get huge lags in my game so I can't. :[ My computer stinks. lol

I feel Mods add more realism to the game, especially given that without mods it takes my Sims forever to meet co-workers (you should be able to meet all of them in a day or less). Also there is the tendency for the game to kill off or move away random Sims or households.

I was going to say I've never played with mods...however story progression? I thought that was a basic setting in-game? I've always had that, but have never downloaded any mods.

I don't know how anyone plays without Overwatch. It's bug fixes make the game playable.

Master Controller is quite useful, especially when you want to get quick statistics.

Story Progression is fun, although I wish I could turn off more of the notices. I really wish I could get the news of the story-lines through a modification of the Rumor system that is in the EA standard game.

I would survive without all my mods except for some camera mods and master controller and debug enabler.

Other than that, I wouldn't want to play.

My goal for sims 4 is to try not to be so into mods and CC but I'm sure I will be.
