No kidding eh! I won't be buying it unless it goes on sale and the price drops dramatically, especially since I really only want it for some of the items! lol.

Thanks for the link. Sometimes LGR and I agree, sometimes we don't but either way I always love the snark. This time I do agree.
I was trying to decide about this town and the review sealed it for me. I'll wait for a sale somewhere down the road.

Ouch, glad I wasn't the one who gifted it. His reviews are always humorous even when I disagree. I personally like it and the toddler items but.....he is right about the price.

Well, usually I like his reviews, but not this time. I think some of the things he complained about, like the way the ground looks, is b/c he didn't know where this world is supposed to be on our planet.
It is Iceland, I think I remember them saying. So the black ground is probably a volcanic look. The houses do look like that in one of the cities there. A simmer had some pictures of the real place and showed us in another thread.
The balloon may be a little anticlimactic for some, but it's a store item, not an expansion pack item. I think expectations are a bit too high considering where this came from.
EA is a business not a charity. If the market will bare the price, then they should get as much as they can for it. They owe their stockholders that duty. It will come on sale, I'm sure, down the road for those who don't want it right away. For those of us who enjoy the EA made worlds and can pay for them, we don't mind paying for them.
LGR may think they are over priced and for some I'm sure they are, but over all, I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

Why do people continue to gift him? It's expensive and he's made it clear he doesn't want worlds from the store.
Meh, whatever. Not my money.

i love his reviews and i laughed my butt off watching again. However i feel he misses alot of the content and so he isn;'t realizing the full value of the world. he wasn't sure if that fireplace was new and it came with the world. This world has like 70 something objects! that for me is what made me buy it. Totally with him on the HAB, that is just not what was expected and a total let down. But all the stuff that it comes with is awesome. and i agree I don't think he knew that it looks like Iceland and is accurate for where it's supposed to be. ....It dos look like a playschool toy though LOL
I hope he keeps doing reviews anyway i really enjoy watching.

I really like LGR's reviews because they are brutally honest and actually genuine. I don't always agree with his points and I don't agree with some of his here. He hits the nail in the coffin with the HAB. That thing is just a disappointment. His reviews on non-clothing related stuff seems to keep missing components of new releases (ex. CAS items, build/buy items, other premium content items in Aurora Skies).

He was complaining about the ground when he was in map view not the ground in general at least that's what I picked up from it-when in map view the lots really stand out and don't blend into the rest of the ground, there was a big obvious square of different coloured terrain where the lot was. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.
I also completely agree with him about the houses, yeah yeah they were going for a sort of Icelandic look but some things just don't translate that well from reality into the sims and I think those houses are one of them. They look nice in reality, not so nice in the game-boxy houses look very amateurish in the sims, in my opinion. They're like the sort of houses I would have built when I first started attempting to build houses myself. I'm glad if other people like them though, but I personally don't. Although the roofs are very nice.
But anyway...I absolutely agree with him in this case. The balloon was really lame and the aurora borealis is sort of nice but nothing spectacular or anything. They just re-coloured the clouds. The toddler stuff is okay but not worth paying a whopping 43 dollars for. He probably should have gotten a toddler though and actually tried the objects out, and he should have checked what objects came with the world so people could see exactly what they're getting. To be honest I think he really didn't care for the world and his heart wasn't in it so to speak so he just didn't bother showing the new objects off. I've never seen him so bored in a review before, even in his other world reviews or 'Let's Play' segments he seems to be enjoying the world even if he thinks it's a rip off. Here he just seemed totally unimpressed by almost everything. I also noticed after watching Quxxn's review last night that she wasn't anywhere near as enthusiastic as she usually is about new stuff.
Overall though I'm glad he has the balls to say what he really thinks rather than sugar coating everything and praising EA for every little thing they do, that's why I always keep coming back to his reviews.

They are charging the price of an expansion pack for this world. You don't think they should be held to the same standard? I know they are a business not a charity. As a business they need to fill my standards to get MY money. The mantra that we should not want quality because they are a business makes me sad. If you are happy with what you are getting that is fine, just do not try and stop others who are letting EA know that they find the quality lacking. Yes, shaming posters for speaking up is stopping them.
I think the stockholders would want EA to know what would get me to let go of MY money.

LGR's reviews are so much better than reviews by others, who seem to like and enjoy everything.
If EA can make money from stupid people through making crappy worlds, why would they spend time and effort to make good contents that are worth the price?
Stupid fans are the reasons that we can't have nice things.
